Juggler 345 September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 I just started thinking about something, what if MLP:FiM was the first generation of MLP? That is, the old generations would never have existed. I think that we bronies wouldn't get as much hate from the outside community as we do today. From what I've experienced people assume that this new generation is just like the old generations. That is: REALLY girly. If those generations wouldn't have existed people would just have this generation to base their opinions on, and I think that would lead to less haters. Of course there would still be quite a lot of haters, after all it's a show about colorful ponies, but as I said, I don't think there would be as many. What do you think? Shiki 5,855 September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 I've actually thought about this a few times, before. If you mean there was no original line of toys (because from what I know, the toys came first, then the shows, but I don't really know, because I didn't search) as well as no first generation television show, I think there would be an incredibly small amount of hate on our G4 ponies. I think MLP would just be sort of cartoon network kind of show, where teenagers would probably still get made fun of for watching a cartoon, but other than that, it'd have nothing really to be hated on. Because people would have nothing to base their judgements on (those old, girly ponies), they wouldn't affiliate the show with all the girliness they think it has, although, the colourful designs of the ponies may start a trend of people calling it "gay", and then it just sort of spreads, but that may not have even happened. 1 You'll be entranced by me ♥
Demi 545 September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 Honestly, there would still be haters either way. Even without G1-3, it's still a bright colored cartoon about ponies and "the magic of friendship". Besides there's like a lot of pink and hearts in the backgrounds at all times, that certainly doesn't help the "manly" factor. But then again, if it were a brand new cartoon all on its own and just known for being made by Faust then maybe there wouldn't be as much immediate hate, but still.. it's ponies. Plus if we didn't have G1-3 then Faust wouldn't of had all of the previous ideas to use for the awesome ponies that we have today.
JeanHover 326 September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 I think that haters wouldn't have that much to use against us, but they would still hate. All of the girliness is in the first three generations. Compared to them, FiM could be a typical teenaged show. G4 has better animation, less girly stuff and more actual story. G1-3 were all about flying through shiny snow and following your dreams. If it weren't for all that the haters would have a lot less to use on us while still hating. XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 September 11, 2012 Share September 11, 2012 I personally hated the doll commercials because of that annoying song and I still do, but I think, like said, would get less hate since less people would associate the show with that commercial with little girls in it. Dusty Soul 2,611 September 11, 2012 Share September 11, 2012 The toy's would've happened, becuase Hasbro is indeed a toy company. There would still be people that don't agree with us, and stuff, but I think it's better this way.
