Maybe gonna get into a band?

I don't know it's kinda up in the air right now, but if I do get in, what are some things that I should know? I don't mean songs, I mean things to do, things not to do 'ya know?

-The drummer and lead singer get all the chicks.

-Don't get hammered and party every night, especially if you're supposed to be recording something the next day.

-Play free shows and release free songs until people like you. Not many want to pay for something they know nothing about.

-Try to get shows at places people know as a good place to hear new bands.

-Don't suck.

I would start playing cover songs first, just to get in tune with how everyone plays... Then add your own songs. Start playing at local talent shows and free venues... Then get sponsored and play some venues that pay. Then record an album. That's what my band is planing on doing. It also depends on the genre of music you'll be playing.

I agree. Start of with covers of songs. Upload them to Youtube, etc. Then after you get a small following hold a few free shows. Then from there you can start with merch maybe? Oh and don't forget to make a fansite and to shout out to your bronies!
