Pinkie's a little harder to draw than one might think, but I think this turned out alright. What do you guys think? Is it an improvement on Twilight?

It looks pretty awesome! Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony so it makes me like it a little bit more

Maybe you could have made the ear and mouth a little better but it's absolutely okay!

Uhh, everything else is fine besides the head, not including the hair. The head is too small, too much of a circle and the body parts need a bit of work. GJ overall tho!

Brony this looks amazing! I love the body shading. I recently started drawing and I think I may use that type of shading on some of my art, even though I suck so far.

This Pinkie Pie is much better than the Applejack you did before, this time I'm not going to flood your head with annoying critiques, just one small observation though.

Her torso is still too long for the size of her head, it is bad? no, but that's not the MLP style, look at this reference and see how the ponies torsos are smaller in comparison with their heads.

 

I see that you improved the hooves, which is great! so I'm not going to point anything else. Overall great job.

 

I have to say, that I'm a bit jealous of your shading, how do you do it?

Thanks again for the helpful advice! I use gimp and I pretty much just use the dodge and burn tool with a large radius and a soft circle brush. It makes the shading very smooth and easy to do. I'll try to fix the head in my next drawing though, I think I'm getting closer to the point where my drawings are accurate to the originals.

Photoshop probably works even better, haha. And now I get it! The body is still too long... I guess I'm still trying to grasp the exaggerated proportions and cartoony style of MLP, while my mind is trying to subconsciously make them look realistic.

maybe you have your brain used to the realistic side and not in the cartoony side of the horses, but it just a matter of time to get used to it!
