By blue screen, I assume you mean the dreaded blue screen of death.

Would it be at all possible for you to relay the information on that screen here? It actually really does help to determine the error.

This used to happen to me on my current computer as well but only when I was playing guild wars 2 for too long. For me it kind of fixed itself somehow, I think it may have been due to overheating. I asked my cousin for advice when it was happening but I never actually tried any of the stuff he suggested. Here's pretty much what he suggested: Do a check for viruses, something called registry repair, something called defrag. (which he said might not work.) You might want to google that stuff for more info. if you're interested, though use this stuff at your own risk.

whenever i open Windows Explorer

Whenever you OPEN it? The explorer starts automaticly whenever login on the computer. Are you sure you not mean Internet Explorer? Because the explorer.exe process is not something you open.

Anyways, can you tell us a little bit about the computer?

If you can login, press the start button, search for "run". Open run and type dxdiag this will open a window with a bunch of information about your computer, type down some of that here.

If you can't login at all without the computer crashing, start the computer in safe mode and see if you can login without that error.
