The Soldier 2,044 September 28, 2012 Share September 28, 2012 YOU'RE SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN CS5! IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE ME COMFORTABLE USING YOU... Another thing I drew at school. I tried to make it look like one of those 1st person 3D where it looks like you're character just pops out or something... I failed
Bohtty 1,775 September 28, 2012 Share September 28, 2012 (edited) What on earth are you even talking about. I can't think of one thing that they changed that made using CS6 unwieldy. I can't find "Animation" on the Windows tab like I used to, my line tool stroke width wouldn't change for some reason no matter WHAT size I want it to be, and some other crap I can't seem to do like I did in CS5. Motion Spark 7,811 September 29, 2012 Share September 29, 2012 I would like to know what kind of effect this is because I would like to use it. sadly I'm not an expert in photoshop in the slightliest, so I can't help you, but at least I know that you can try the 3D tools photoshop has to offer, you can extrude, or use bevel and emboss to do an "effect" of 3D, lol that's no excuse. Acoustic Cloud 2,202 September 29, 2012 Share September 29, 2012 It's not too bad, yes the tool properties are hard to find at first, but the shortcuts and bars are the same... mostly :l yeah it took me like a week to make the change.

Oh, do you mean the triangles at the sides? That's what I saw in anime and manga comics sometimes. I call them "Zoom Lines"Not to mention it was in the "You're going to love me scene" http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwp60eYuie0 See those little triangles at the sides? Yup, those are what I call "Zoom Lines" (Although THESE kinds of triangles in this may be what I call a "boom line", cuz it's a shout a.k.a. a loud noise Fluttershy's making here) Edited September 29, 2012 by CoffeeAddictedPony

They renamed the animation window to timeline... because thats what it was... a timeline. Plus photoshop is horrendous for animation. I'm assuming your referring to the line vector tool. They didn't change those properties at all. You must be doing something wrong. What did you do to apply strokes in CS5 that doesn't work in CS6? Legit signature made by Shift. Dusty Soul 2,614 September 29, 2012 Share September 29, 2012 I think I see what you were trying to do. For the effect you want, you have to make the part that's farther away smaller then the part that you want to pop out. Also if you turn the pony in the picture like 2 degrees horizontal, it would look like it is popping out. All in all you did a good job. Motion Spark 7,811 September 29, 2012 Share September 29, 2012 @, you were talking about a complete different thing in your first post, those lines aren't any 3D effects or anything like that. these lines are usually called "speed or motion lines", some call it "movement or action lines", and they were used firstly in comic books to express any action or movement of a character ot an object, in your drawing you should have drawn a point in the center of the paper, and with a ruler trace lines from the outside to where the point is located, actually this is not photoshop CS6 fault, and you obviously don't need the animation features to do something like this, you can always use the native shape tools or the pen tool to do the same thing. The Soldier 2,044 September 30, 2012 Author Share September 30, 2012 (edited) @, you were talking about a complete different thing in your first post, those lines aren't any 3D effects or anything like that. Oh, that effect. *sigh* I failed on that. But i was thinking making the part of body closer to the "screen" bigger, and the other part farther from the " screen" smaller ( like Sharp said) That's no news for you, I'm sure. -_- Sorry about that mistake though. And i didn't need animation/timeline ( based from Bohtty) for this; I needed it for my OC, Haz Mat. That's how i figured out that CS6 was different to me. Ugh... me and my wordings... i can't even get my point across. I'm assuming your referring to the line vector tool. They didn't change those properties at all. You must be doing something wrong. What did you do to apply strokes in CS5 that doesn't work in CS6? Nevermind, dude. The reason it wouldn't change the size was cuz some tab was on "Shape" I just changed it to "pixels", so that's two down and a few more to go. They rarely make big overhauls on things between CSS# updates. Do you only use Photoshop for vector work? Or do you do other things with it? Legit signature made by Shift. The Soldier 2,044 October 1, 2012 Author Share October 1, 2012 Do you only use Photoshop for vector work? Or do you do other things with it? So I've tried. I heard that the pen tool could help vectoring. But that's some trouble as well. Why? Is there another FREE program you can use to vector images? Bohtty 1,775 October 1, 2012 Share October 1, 2012 So I've tried. I heard that the pen tool could help vectoring. But that's some trouble as well. Why? Is there another FREE program you can use to vector images? No, I was just going to say if you only wanted to do vectoring then you should have gotten Adobe Illustrator instead of Photoshop. Photoshop's vector tools are a raging piece of shit. :]All of the free programs suck more than photoshop in terms of intuitiveness and capability. Adobe Illustrator's pen tool is the best bezier curve tool I have seen out of all the programs that I know that have it (Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp, Inkscape and SAI) You mentioned other problems with CS6. Do you recall what they are? I could probably help you figure it out. Legit signature made by Shift.
