I'm new to the magical world of Equestria and am still learning everything all the while having a really fun time. =) I recently got addicted to the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and already I would say I am a huge... well, whatever the term for a female fan would be (Anypony want to fill me in?). Prior to this show, I can't say I was ever a fan of MLP, and I never did play with the toys (I never played with any dolls or girly things during my childhood though!) Still, I always respected MLP for what it was, and now I love it! My favorite pony would probably be Applejack, but you'll come to know I love all of the mane six, as well as Spike! The first episode I saw, and the one that got me into this was Bridle Gossip, and it is one of my very favorite episodes, and by now, I have seen every single one. <3 This is my first time really getting into the Pony fandom, but I think I'll enjoy it. I'm Feld0 (aka Twilight Sparkle), one of the two admins here and your general tech support guy. The term "brony" is gender-independent, so it refers to both male and female Friendship is Magic fans. Interesting to see a girl join who never played with "girly" things during her childhood. This forum isn't even a week old yet, but we had a crazy successful launch that filled it with activity. Everyone around here's really nice, so I'm sure you'll meet plenty of awesome people. Also, nice work on already getting promoted out of the Blank Flanks group! Haha, I didn't want to be a blank flank, and since I figure I'll be staying at this forum I figured I'd make an effort and make some posts! You'll all probably be seeing me around a fair bit! Okay, so I am a brony then! Nice title, I think it's a keeper. But yeah in all seriousness I was quite the strange child. I was probably a lot more tomboyish when I was little as compared to now. Anyway, I like being in an environment where there are males and females, so I sure am happy FiM has so many male fans. Never would have guessed it, but it's well justified. (Just my usual greeting, no real meaning to it. ) One good thing to know about this site that is even if things get a little debate-y or controversial, as long as everypony respects everypony else, we've yet to see a single flame war of even the smallest kind so far. I won't go so far as to say we are immune to it but the fact that we've gone this far already and seen so little argument with this many users from the get-go proves to me that this site is definitely gonna go far. Never would have guessed it, but it's well justified. If you're looking for a more gender-specific title, Pegasister is popular among many female fans. Whatever you want to call yourself though, welcome! You'll quickly find that the Scientific Rule of Bronies applies to this fandom: The male-to-female ratio of MLP fans is directly inverted from the male-to-female ratio of ponies in Equestria. I sure do love seeing guys enjoy this kind of thing, but I am also surprised there aren't as many female fans. Well, what are you gonna do? Maybe girls these days are more fond of boyish things?
