1Fluttershy 411 January 9, 2012 #1 Share January 9, 2012 Hello everypony. My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, and I have some things I would like to say. However, before I do so, I should probably give some more info about myself. Family: I have 4 siblings (would be 5, but he died), and my parents are still together. Unfortunately, we don't get along very well. I've honestly never understood the appeal of family. What's the point of holding your family in higher regards than people you aren't related to if those people treat you better than your family does? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Loneliness: We all know what loneliness is. It's the worst feeling a human being can feel. Unfortunately, i've experienced it many times. Sure, i've had friends before, lots of them, but there's never been an emotional bond between me and the majority of them that made me feel as if I could call any of them a true friend. The result being that i've basically been a lone wolf for most of my life. Not being close to the people you know and not being someone who's good a expressing himself (especially when said person doesn't even have anyone they'd be comfortable telling their problems to) can really do a number on a person. Needless to say, the pain had built over the years, and had contributed to me having a very cynical view of the world. ...That is however, until I discovered the magic of friendship. Sometime in February 2011, I noticed a thread about stuff people liked, even though they weren'tpart of the target demographic. I saw some members talking about a show called "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". I was pretty confused at first, mostly because I had no idea an MLP cartoon even existed. I'm a pretty open-minded person, so I had no negative opinion about it. A friend of mine on that forum who said she liked the show was complaining that the show was becoming more popular than it deserved to be. On February 21, 2011, I decided to check out a few episodes of the show, just to give it a fair chance. The first episode I saw was "The Ticket Master". The show seemed pretty good, so I decided to keep watching. After 4-5 episodes, I started to consider myself a brony. I could go into detail why the show is so great, but I won't because we already know why everyone should at least watch one episode before judging it. Now, i'm pretty shy, I still feel lonely at times, I still don't really get along with my family, and i'm still not exactly a happy person, but I can honestly say that this show has done nothing but change my life for the better. There are now a few people I must thank specifically: Lady Rarity Pony: There's a lot I could say about you, but i'll try to keep it to a minimum. Out of all the people i've met in real life and on the internet, you stand out as one of my favorites. You're easy to get along with, fun to talk to and your presence here in general makes the forum an even better place than it already is. I know that whenever something's bothering me, you'll be there to cheer me up. A true friend, if you ask me. Feld0/Twilight Sparkle/OOP: Without you, we wouldn't have what is arguably the best forum on the internet. I thank you for all you've done for everyone on this forum. Captain Marvelous: All I can say is...wow. I've seen members join forums for things they aren't necessarily a fan of, but never before have I seen one of those people fit in so well with a community. If I didn't know any better i'd assume you're actually a brony (are you sure you're not a brony in denial? ) Either way, you have my respect. Lauren Faust: The one who started it all. Even though she may never see this post, none of this would've happened if it weren't for her. If we really do make 2012 the year of friendship, we'll all have Lauren Faust to thank for uniting so many people (and even if we don't succeed, i'm sure all of us will still be greatful for the amazing show which has caused many of us to make some great friends.) All of us are witnessing something truly amazing. And that, my friends, is the making of history. An era of love and tolerance is shifting upon this planet we call Earth (sure, the process may seem to be going slow, but we're still making progress.) Every single one of us, even if you feel like you haven't contributed a single thing to the brony community, has still had a part in all of this by just being here to support their fellow bronies. There are some of you who think the fandom will eventually die out, but you're wrong. The show will end eventually, and the fanbase won't be nearly as big as it once was, but the show will live on in the love and tolerance all of us can spread to others. TL;DR: Stay awesome everypony. All your hard work will pay off someday. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdN0NXgjsn8&feature=related

KPM 288 January 9, 2012 #5 Share January 9, 2012 This is starting to remind me of Party of One. Good show Pinkamena, and it's nice that other people can escape the darkness of loneliness (I've been there too, and so have many of my relatives) through the power of friendship all caused by a show for li' girls. It's magic
