I decided I may as well attempt writing some fanfiction. Secret of My Excess inspired an idea into my mind. Twilight lit a candle; with a spell I'm pretty sure she never used before. Fire can be dangerous. This is how I imagined she learned the spell.

 

The main premise of the story is the Princess getting kidnapped (a bit odd, because the most powerful alicorn would have at least put up a fight...) After the princess is gone, a second group of people try to kidnap the princess, but to their surprise she is already gone.

 

A bit of a disclaimer; It's going to be a bit confusing at parts, because it's all building up to one large "AHA!" or a reveal that will make it all clear in the end. Certain Characters, even very powerful and great ponies, will act different than they really do for this reason.

Your vague description sounds interesting! I like a confusing story that comes together at the end and since I'm giving fan fics a read now to bring back my creative writing spirit. I'll make sure to check this out!
