Dreadmallon 353 November 14, 2012 Share November 14, 2012 I was just wondering, that if Chrysalis is powered up by feeding off love of others, did she lose any of that power when she was defeated by Shining Armor and Princess Cadance? If it were permanent, there would have been no real need for the Changelings to invade Equestria in the first place, assuming they already had some source of power to feed off of. And I think since she took control of him it weakened him to much until they defeated her and the bond was severed and she could no longer feed her power. Yeah, this makes things sound more simpler. To try to clarify my original post here. I think since they "feed" off of love they need to constantly have more. Its like how you don't retain food. Well they don't retain the power of love once they lose contact with it. Its not like "Absorbing" Of love where they keep it. NavelColt 22,881 November 14, 2012 Share November 14, 2012 (edited) Clearly the answer is yes. Chrysalis, like all Changelings is a parasite. They feed off emotions. Just as normal beings eat food and drink liquids to sustain themselves, Changelings feed off of emotions, specifically love. When they eat, it's temporary, not permanent. Why would the Changelings need to come to Canterlot and take it over, if they could feed off of any place once, then be strong forever? Chrysalis defeated Celestia only because she was supped up on power due to Shining Armor's love for Cadence. With her normal power level I doubt she could even rival Celestia in terms of power, let alone beat her. Chrysalis acted completely surprised that she actually beat Celestia, then further stated that 'Consuming Shining Armor's love for you (Cadence) has made me even more powerful than Celestia!'.
