planning Making an original character, input please?

I reckon he might be a bit of a mary sue, somewhat lacking in flaws, also he might be a bit too much like Fluttershy to be original, what with the only flaw being a lack of assertiveness.

 

So, any suggestions for improvement? Likely flaws for him to have? Is the name or backstory too exotic?
