shining star sat there for a moment and then went over to Storm Rush. instead of stepping up beside him she flew and hovered over his shoulder looking at what he was doing. "Uncle Storm? What have you and mommy been doing at the Weather factory?" she finally asked after hovering over his shoulder for ten minutes watching what he was doing. the entire time

[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

"Well, your mother, Rainbow Dash, was originally from cloudsdale. In fact, your mother used to work at the weather factory creating storms and clearing clouds when it was supposed to be sunny." Storm Rush said. "I still work there, but not as much anymore, since I joined the Wonderbolts." Rainbow Dash said. "The weather factory hasn't been doing so well lately. Many of the machines are kind of old and outdated, especially that cloud-maker. Boy, that thing catches fire just about every other day. Seriously, there should be a fire brigade housed right in Cloudsdale." Storm Rush said. "The trouble is, that it takes a long time to make the machines, and they have to be shipped here, all the way from Coltifornia." Thunder Dash explained.

"but if they were old machines to begin with, why has it taken so long to get the new one? Wouldnt somepony get hurt if that machine keeps messing up the way it dose?" shining star said as she continued asking questions as if she was on the board of safety herself. "and finally, wont the rainbow factory have to pay the ponies they hurt money even if they were hospitalized because of their negligent?"

"Whoa, whoa whoa. The rainbow factory is separate from the weather factory." Rainbow Dash answered. 

 

"The machines take months and months to build. The weather factory uses a share-income system. Everypony working their must donate 5% of their income to factory. This way, the factory can raise money, so that it could get better machines. They have already met their goal and because of that, ponies can keep all of their income. Income is basically what you get. So if I work at Sugarcube corner and earn 10 bits, I just earned 10 bits in income. That's way it takes a while for machines to be replaced at the weather factory.

Shining star thought about this for a while. then her horn lit up and a light bulb appeared above her head. "Light bulb....(looks up at the light bulb) what the hay is that and how did it get there? Anyways, Mom, Dad, Uncle Storm...Can i get a job?" she asked with the biggest smile on her face which went away when she looked at the light-bulb floating above her head again.

Thunder Dash thought about this for a while. "At the age you're at...I'm afraid not. You're gonna have to wait a few years until you can get a job." Thunder Dash said. "But you can be my assistant when I work." Thunder Dash said trying to not make Shining Star feel bad.

Still eyeballing the light-bulb, shining star lights up at the sound of this. "yay. So....What is it that you do exactly? come to think of it, i don't remember ever see you go to work daddy." (sorry i seriously cant remember what Thunder-Dashes job is) Shining star looks at the light bulb and touches it causing it to fall and shatter. Shining Star, thinking she was being attacked fired a magic bolt at it leaving a hole in the floor

"You can come with me when I go up to Cloudsdale." Rainbow Dash said. "And sometimes when I go too." Storm Rush said. "You can also come with me, for my daily patrol around Ponyville." Thunder Dash added. 

 

Storm Rush then continued to organize his papers and Rainbow Dash prepped to go out.

Shining star stood there unsure of what to do. then she got another idea and once again the light bulb appears, but this time she leaves it floating in mid air. when she comes back she has her saddlebags on and a brief case in her mouth. "am i the only one that is freaked out about that floating thingy?" she asked with her brief case still in her mouth

"You don't need all of that." Rainbow Dash said with a giggle. "They have quite a bit of writing stuff up in the factory for pegasus to take notes on how the machines are working." Thunder Dash said. "Plus, the most observant of pegasus are the ones who are found writing all of the notes and stuff." Storm Rush said.

Shining star went and put the brief case back in Storm Rushes room and came back out, plopped on the couch and just waited there until it was time to go. Something in the back of her mind kept nagging at her, but she didn't know what it was. while she was waiting, she began to prune her wings getting any stray feathers back into place.

Rainbow Dash looked at Shining Star as she pruned her wings. "I think we'll take a day to sleep up in Cloudsdale." Thunder Dash suddenly said. "Yeah, it gets kind of stuffy down here sometimes." Storm Rush said. "It's decided, we will leave for Cloudsdale tomorrow at 8am. There are lots of stuff to do in Cloudsdale besides touring the weather factory." Thunder Dash said.

Shining star was so exited that she accidentally pulled out a feather, but she didn't care. She took off to her room and started packing her things enough for one day. She then grabbed her Luna doll and put it on top of her bag. She then came back and sat back on the couch.

"Good, we should be ready and leave as soon as we rise. We will get up at 7:45, check the passages and head up to Cloudsdale at 8am. That's the final plan." Thunder Dash said as he made sure he had everything in his saddle bag. Rainbow Dash didn't really have anything except her Wonderbolt uniform. All the rest of her things were up in Cloudsdale.

Shining Star had already packed everything she needed and just sat on the couch. She then levitated her wonder-bolt action figures and a rainbow dash action figure and had them flying around the room doing different maneuvers. The formation was the normal formation, only difference was that instead of Spitfire being in the front, Rainbow dash was in the front

Thunder Dash checked all of his stuff. He then noticed it was getting dark outside. "We should get to bed pretty soon." He said as he yawned. "We'll be up early tomorrow." He added. Storm Rush had already had his papers and other stuff packed and was about to go to bed. "Good night y'all, I'm hittin' the hay early tonight." He said.

Shining star had fallen asleep on the couch while having her wonder bolts toys still doing their routines flying around the room. In her dream she was flying along side the wonder bolts. Every so often get wings would begin flapping as if trying to take off, but then close, other times they would remain open and terrify and turn add if making turns.

Thunder Dash was looking at Shining Star as she was dreaming. He then thought about his chat with Spitfire a couple days ago. He thought about what she said about promoting him to academy leader upon just observing him while in free-flight. He would only have to stay there just to lead the group, then go through the same test that Rainbow Dash went through. Thunder Dash then went to bed. 

 

Soon morning arrived and Thunder Dash was up at 7:30. He made sure he had everything and went to check the passages. Occasionally, he saw a stray changeling. He only had to lead one to the right direction. He then came back and woke everyone up.

Shining star got up and ran to use the little fillies room. came out and ran to the kitchen. " Mom? Dad? Uncle Storm? I was just wondering if we are going to be eating here or in Cloudsdale?" she asked as she entered the kitchen hoping that somepony was in the kitchen.

"We'll get something at Sugarcube Corner; then we'll head up." Thunder Dash said. He then picked up Shining Star and put her on his back. "Alright, everyone has everything...good. Let's go on to Sugarcube Corner." Thunder Dash said exiting the tunnels with Rainbow Dash and Storm Rush following behind.

 

When they arrived at Sugarcube Corner, they saw Pinkie Pie with a huge stack of pancakes. "Hey Pinkie! That's a big stack of pancakes you got there!" Thunder Dash said. "Yep, and you can eat as much as you want! It's all-you-can-eat pancakes for breakfast!" She said throwing her hooves up and giggling. "Well, what are you waiting for, let's eat everypony!" Thunder Dash said as he got a plate and 4 pancakes. "I better not eat too much or else I can't fly!" Thunder Dash said with a laugh.

Shining Star nodded, then she went and grabbed a two plane pancakes and three chocolate pancakes. She went over to the table and then began to devour them. She then went back up and got two more, one of each, and went back to the table to finish her breakfast.

Thunder Dash got one more pancake, and then waited for Shining Star to finish up. Storm Rush had finished, and so had Rainbow Dash. Thunder Dash noticed Shining Star's belly was rounder then normal. "I see a little pudgy belly there." He said to Shining Star.

Shining Star looked at her belly and gilggled. "Looks like i ate too much, but those chocolate pancakes were sooooo good." She finished up her pancakes and then went to wash the syrup off of her mouth and hooves. She then came back and sat at the table ready to go.

Thunder Dash then checked everything. He then picked up Shining Star, put her on his back and headed out the door. "Bye Pinkie!" Thunder Dash said. "Thanks for the free pancakes!" Rainbow Dash said. "No problem!" Pinkie Pie sang out.

 

Thunder Dash then flew into the air, but he strained a bit because of Shining Star's extra weight. "Maybe don't eat so much next time. You made hard for me to fly!" Thunder Dash said flapping his wings hard and beginning to sweat.

Shining Star opened her wings and allowed herself to lift off Thunder-Dashes back. She then got in between Both Rainbow Dash and Thunder Dash and flew in between them. "Sorry daddy, guess i over did it. I do have to burn off the fat though." She said while trying to see her belly jiggle
