[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

Thunder Dash got out of hiding to see the trooper down on the ground. Rainbow Dash was looking around. "I don't think that was a good idea to knock him out like that." Thunder Dash said. "Yeah, he may have a signaling device that allows others to know where he is, and if the device locks in one place, they'll deploy the search troops to investigate." Storm Rush warned. "But he almost shot Ace." Rainbow Dash said concerned. "Well, Rainbow's got a point, so it was a good idea to knock him out or else things wouldn't have looked so good for Ace." Thunder Dash said. 

[Flying Ace 142]

Suddenly a rusted pipe comes from the shadow and knocks the second stallion out cold "Ok this is getting really old you know" shade says with a huff as she propped bothe stallions against a chair and tied them down with rope she found on a post. "okay when these two thugs wake up we need to get as much information out of them as possible." Shade states as she pats them down for anything that could be used to free themselves. "Ace make sure that trooper is alright eh? he may be of some value to us." Shade says as she finishes her search.

Ace went over to the soldier and untied him. "Your alright now mate, good thing we got here when we did." Ace said once he colpleted untiying him. "Thanks Shade I probly would have been dead without you." Ace said nodding gratfully at Shade. "Now to figeru out who these stallions are."

the soldier pony walked over to where Ace was hiding and looked at the radio trying to figure out if Ace had in fact triggered the emergency locating beacon when a crash upstairs and a lot of shouting could be heard. the soldier looked at the two tied up ponies and then the group. "Sounds like the troops found us. It wont be long before we get the info we need from these two." The troops upstairs rush down and see the civilian ponies and the badly beaten solider pony down stairs. the ranking pony of the EMAF Navy walks up to the group and says "who ever is in charge of this group needs to get everypony upstairs and link up with team two. from there they will take you to what is left of ponyville. We had just retaken it and are bringing it back up for refugee ponies everywhere. Do not worry, we are taking every step to keep ponyville. When you get there you will need to meet up with Twilight and the others. she will be able to tell you what you need to know...now who is in charge here?" at this time the corpsman of team one was assessing the wounds of the solider pony and said "i am just glad you managed to activate the beacon." he replies "it wasnt me, you need to be thanking that brave pony over there" pointing at Ace, "he knocked out the white one and tried to free me when we heard the other pony running back down here. he activated the beacon almost getting killed himself."

"I'm actually leading this little group here." Thunder Dash said. "We were told that Ponyville was not a safe place to be at this mement and we were waiting until a cease fire command was told." Thunder Dash said. "But if we have to go see Twilight, then that's what we gotta do." Thunder Dash said stomping his hoof down on the floor. "Come on everypony, we must return to Ponyville." Thunder Dash said getting his things ready. Storm and Rainbow got their things ready and waited for the others.

"You were told right, we managed to retake and clear out Ponyville four hours ago. Now its a safe place for refugees to go and get food and shelter. we are going to stay here just in case the enemy decides to come back as well as find out where these tunnels all lead. Good luck, and i am sure you are doing a great job, but i have to say this, take care of everypony." With this he goes back to searching the two out cold ponies when shining Star speaks up. "excuse me Leiutenant, but have you seen my mom and dad Captain Star, Dawn and 1st Lieutenant Star bright of the 734th ACR Regimental Command?" The LT stops moving almost as if he took a hit to the back of the head, but dose not say anything. The other Navy ponies all just stare at the LT wondering if he was going to respond. No pony dared to speak let alone breath

"Oh thank Celestia, now we can go see Twilight." Thunder Dash said with a sigh of relief. "Come on everypony, let's head to Ponyville while we still have the chance. Twilight must know a lot about this. We could probably get her to join us while we're at it." Thunder Dash added. "I don't think I've met Twilight before." Storm Rush said. "Well, she LOVES reading and knows a lot. She was also Princess Celestia's protege at the Canterlot School of Magic." Thunder Dash explained as he gathered all of his bags and waited for the others. Rainbow then came followed by Storm Rush.

Ace went over to Star "Common lets go join Thunder, Shade, Rainbow, and Storm maybe Twilight knows something about your parents." Ace said givin a resuring smile as he lifted Star onto his back and walked up the stairs where the others were "So are we all ready?"

"Let's get a move on!" Thunder Dash said as he flew into the air. It only took them five minutes to fly from the the cottage back to Ponyville. When they arrived in Ponyville, Thunder Dash noticed most of the shops were closed. Sugarcude Corner looked open, but it was not the time to stop for a snack. Soon they arrived at Twilight's Library. Thunder Dash knocked on the door. "Hello? Twilight? Are you there? It's me, Thunder Dash." Thunder Dash said.

The door opened up a little and a yellow pegasus looked out "oh hello" she said as she opened the door all the way. when the door fully opened multiple wounded EMAF ponies could be seen inside getting medical treatment. "Umm, sorry, Twilight is downstairs in her basement with AppleJack. Oh i am so, so sorry, please do come in, i mean, it that is alright with you." She said as she stepped to the side to let everypony in the house. on the wall was a Soldier pony with the unit patch from the 734th ACR. "they came out of no where Sir. we had to get Luna out of there." "Calm down Staff Sergeant and tell me what happened. "The 734th, they are all dead sir. Me and what is left of troop Bravo is all that made it out of the attack. I failed my men, i failed Equestria." The major slaps him "Pull yourself together. You did you best. I need you to calm down and tell me where the rest of your unit is." The Staff Sergeant looks up at the Coast Guard Major and sadly replies. "They died. they took every single round that was meant for Princess Luna. We finally got her out of there and we fought back trying to not loose Canterlot, but we were wiped out. The retreat order then came, but by that time there were only eighteen of us. and when we complied with the order us three here were the only ones that managed to make it out. three out of four thousand ponies." The group walking in catches his attention and he sees shining Star on Ace's back. he recognizes shining star who is a spitting image of Bright Star (her mother) and begins to sob uncontrollably. The major looks at what the SSGT was looking at and gets up slowly. the room goes quiet as every EMAF pony in the room was now standing if they could had their eyes locked on the small group heading for the stairs, some taking off their hats as the group walked past.

Ace was watching as the guards were taking off their hats in respect. Let's hope Star takes it well. Ace thought to himself as he walked down the stairs to see Twilight and Applejack, only Twilight was the one he reconize. "Hey Twilight It is nice to see you again if only cercumstances were more...better."

Apple Jack returns with a blank look on her face she walks over to Twilight and whispers in her ear. "Umm. Sugercube, fluttershy is all set up there, but i think we just got a bigger problem." Twilight just looks at her while Apple jack is motioning her head over in the direction of Shining and Ace

Twilight was busy with a POW and looking at a spectrum analyzer. when she heard the two ponies, she looked up and gave a sigh of relief. "I am so glad you all did not get hurt in this. Apple Jack can you go upstairs and see if Flutter Shy needs any help with anything" AJ nods and walks upstairs. "I am sorry about this, it seems they still follow their basic training as of only giving name, rank, date of birth and serial number. So i am forced to see if i can get anything out of them with out asking them the question." The Coast guard Major walks down and sees Thunder-Dash. He walks up to him and took notice that now shining star was on Ace's back. Ace looked at the guard couisly as Applejack went to check on Fluttershy. "Why what did you find out that is near impotance then finding Celestia?" Ace asked not paying attention to Applejack who came back down and whispered something in Twilight's ear. He didn't even see Applejack motioning her head over to his direction.

The Major looks at Ace then says "Sir, why dont you go and try to find something to eat for the filly on your..." "that wont be necessary Major" Twilight butted in. She looks back over at the POW and then adds, "would you mind coming over with me. i need some help with some of the equipment, and i think you and shining star on your back can help."

Ace blinked for a couple of secounds clealy confused at the sudden turn of events, Ace looked behind him to see Star having the same confusion on her face. "Uhh, sure Twilight? I guess we can help anything to stop those crazy tratoius ponies" Ace said walking up beside Twilight.

"Well you see thats the thing. I dont think that the EMAF Air-Force are traitors, but something had to have replaced them. Or so that is my theory. I am trying to figure out if my theory is correct with this POW. the only thing that is stumping me is that they are acting just like the EMAF Air-Force" twilight told them all

"This is like very confusing. If they're acting exactly like EMAF Air Force troops, then how else can we distinguish them?." Thunder Dash asked. Rainbow Dash was looking right at Thunder Dash. "What are you looking at me like that for Rainbow?" Thunder Dash asked. "Don't you have that spell that lets you see through ponies' disguises and clothing?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Oh yeah! I do. I gotta teach Twilight that spell, she'll be stoked. But anyway, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna go near the warzone and I'll use my long-lasting time freezing spell, which lasts 15 minutes. This will give us enough time to find the enemies disguised as EMAF Air Force troops. And before we go, I'm gonna quickly teach Twilight that spell." Thunder Dash said.

"please be safe thunder-dash" shining star said "Wait, what in apple picking are you planing on doing!" apple jack said worriedly? "If you are planing on going out there then i just have to say this. think about your friends. If you go out there you might end up like the 734th ACR" she said before she realized what she said. at this she ran off back upstairs upset about what she just said

"I wonder what got her all upset like that. Unfortunately we don't have time." Thunder Dash said. He then turned to Twilight. "Now, do you know a see-through spell?" Thunder Dash asked. "I hope this doesn't take too long because time is slipping and we've gotta joc to do." Storm Rush said.

"A see-through spell? No i dont recall ever learning a spell like that before" Twilight replied "though do not worry, i am a very fast learner. maybe you can teach me using this POW we have here. nothing else seems to be working with him." she said as she looked back at the chained up earth pony. Shining Star jumped off of Ace's back and ran after Apple Jack to see what upset her. "Miss Apple Jack, Miss Apple Jack, please wait up." she hollered after Apple Jack

"Alright, you're gonna have to focus hard and perform what is called, a magic transfer. This is basically transferring your magic energy to another part of your body. You can only do it to certain parts. Anyway, perform a magic transfer to your eyes." Thunder Dash said as he demonstrated. "Then, concetrate the magic energy like a beam, but don't make it like a laser, make it a loose beam, what when it hits an object, you'll be able to see through it." Thunder Dash explained. "I'll go see what's up with AJ." Rainbow Dash said as she went after Shining Star.

Twilight did as she was told and focused her magic into her ears. she was then able to see all of the components inside the spectrum analyzer and then focused the beam onto the POW earth pony. No pony in the room was ready for what was revealed. When she focused the magic, the green coat was replaced with a black coat and the hooves went from solid to holy. Twilight gasped and looked at the group. "He-He is a changeling!"

Thunder Dash realized something. "If this guy's a changeling, then...the leader of the enemy must be none other than Queen Chrysalis!" Thunder Dash said. Rainbow Dash gasped in fear. "We've got to warn the others, and get this information to a military personel as fast as we can!" Storm Rush said.

a Naval Major runs down stairs after hearing Rainbow dash gasp in fear. "Is everypony alright down here, whats going on?" Twilight told the Major what everypony had found out and the Major replied. "Well, if that is who the leader of this threat is, then we know where to find Princess Celestia. Can we find out how to get the info out of him on where their main base of operations are at?"

 

Suddenly the POW's form changed into his original changeling form and said "Fools. You all believe that you can defeat me? I will make this fun for me. Your Princess is in a cocoon on the outer rim of Equestria to the north. and i am somewhere on the South. You do not have enough EMAF personnel to send to both areas. so. this is the question for you. What are you going to choose? Rescue the Princess and leave me to continue raining destruction? Or come after me and loose your princess to the changelings. FOREVER! Oh and in a few seconds one of your medics are going to run down stairs and inform you that Shining Star was just foal napped. thought i would make the stakes higher. Now you have two ponies that you want to see safe so far across from each other. You go after Celestia, Shining becomes a changeling. You come after Shining, Celestia becomes a changeling. do choose carefully" with this the POW just goes limp, the heart monitors showing that he is still alive. Suddenly a guard comes running down bleeding from his side and a knife still in the wound. "Sir, terrible news, the young filly, Shining Star has just been foal napped. It turns out that some of the wounded upstairs were changelings and before we knew what hit us, they grabbed her and fled." " Get a runner to all the outpost, tell them to examine all their troops stallions and mares"
