Shining Star tried to slow down but failed to land, so she peeled of did a quick u-turn and came back to land. When she managed to slow down enough she landed and ran to slow her self down more. She then looks up to see the double sonic mint-boom she made and just smiled. Elsewhere diamond tiara and silver spoon stood there with there jaws hanging open at what they were seeing

[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

"Well, I guess I'll call it a day." Thunder Dash said. "Come on Shining Star. Let's go get some lunch." Thunder Dash added as he picked up Shining Star and put her on his back. He then flew back to Ponyville and headed to Sugarcube Corner. When he got there, he was surprised, for right in front of him was Spitfire! "No way! Spitfire! How's it going?" Thunder Dash asked excitedly. "Oh, hey Thunder Dash. Haven't seen you in a while. Everything's going well. How about you?" She asked. "Oh, just prepping Shining Star to enter the Best Young Flyer Contest. I think she's just about ready, but we need to establish a firm routine first." Thunder Dash said. Suddenly Pinkie Pie came out. "Oh hay Thunder Dash, what's up?" She asked with a giggle. "Oh just coming for lunch." Thunder Dash said. "Do you still have those delicious pizza pies? Those are great!" Thunder Dash asked. "Yeah, I've got plenty. One sec!" Pinkie Pie said as she zoomed in the back and returned with two pizza pies. "Here you go." She said with another giggle. "Thanks!" Thunder Dash said as he went to find a table. He soon found a table and placed the pizza pies on the table. "Alright, let's eat." He said to Shining Star.

Shining star hopped off Thunder Dashes back and sat down at the table. She then got some of the pizza and was munching on it while some random pony was telling Spitfire about the double sonic boom. "I didnt see who made it spitfire, but it was amazing!" they said flailing their hooves in the air

"Well, I gotta know who did the double Sonic Boom." Spitfire said as she started going around asking pegasai if they did it. She soon came to Shining Star. "Were you the one, who created that sonic boom, somepony was telling me about?" Spitfire asked Shining Star.

shining star thinking she was in trouble flattened her ears and sank in her seat. "y-yes" she said not wanting to lie to the wonder-bolts "A-am i in trouble?" she asked sinking deeper in her seat. "i wont do it again. im sorry, im sorry. I didn't know i wasn't suppose to."

"No, no, you're not in trouble, in fact...you just won yourself a free spot in the Best Young Flyer Contest." Spitfire said. "You have a big chance at winning. I hope to see you in two weeks." Spitfire said as she exited Sugarcube Corner. "Look at that! You're in the competition already! Come Shining Star. You got this! You can win! I know you can. Mom will also agree on that!" Thunder Dash said. excitedly.

Shining Star sits back up straight with excitement in her eyes. "Did i just get pre-qualified to be int the bestyoungfilerscompitition!!!!" She yells bouncing up and down. Pinkie Comes running out. "DID SOMEPONY SAY PARTY!!!" she ends up yelling causing shining star to dive under the table. a few seconds later a hoof reaches up on the table looking for a slice of pizza and when found, the hoof and pizza disappeared.

"Jee wiz Shining Star. You gotta learn how to not be so shy." Thunder Dash said. He then got up and stretched. "Well, the talent show's tomorrow night and I gotta meet with Sweetie Belle again. Come on Shining Star. You can take that pizza with you." Thunder Dash said as he gently picked up Shining Star and put her on his back and exited Sugarcube corner. "Bye Pinkie Pie." Thunder Dash said. "See ya!" Pinkie Pie said. After dropping Shining Star off at the tunnels, Thunder Dash went to meet Sweetie Belle to rehearse for an hour. He then returned to the tunnels.

While Thunder-Dash was gone shining star had finished up the pizza and went out for a little flight seeing not only one mysterious pony  watching her every move, but three this time. "what is going on?" she thought to herself but didnt really worry about it because they made sure to stay away from her, or from what she though. When shining star got home Thunder dash followed behind about 15 minutes.

Storm Rush had returned to Cloudsdale again and Thunder Dash was chilling in the tunnels with Shining Star. 

 

Rainbow Dash was up in Cloudsdale as well, prepping for her very first flight with the Wonderbolts, which immediately followed the Best Young Flyer Competition.

"im nervous dad. What if i mess up a routine? What if i get stuck in the sound barrier and get shot away like what happened with mommy." Shining star was now in a medium panic and was doing what Rainbow dash did in her Best flyers competition and was changing out her number with others later in line.

Thunder Dash gently picked up Shining Star. "It's all in the entry. You must always enter the sound barrier with two hooves in front. What happened with mom was since she entered in with one hoof and the other one tucked, she was to big to pass through, which caused to get stuck just as it was about to break. Nothing to worry about." Thunder Dash said.

the announcer comes on "and welcome back to the young fliers competition ladies and gentle colts. right before we went to the break we had a few youngsters start off the young alicorn flyers competition." Gorge said. "That's Gorge, and what a good show they put on. it was clear right off the starting block who was going to be taking home the alicorn side of the competition." Frank continued. "You sad it frank, no disrespect to the others that have been pouring their hearts and souls out, because they all did an outstanding job this year. But now we are back from our break, and the Judges have given their vote, a 5. a 7. and a 5. that is a good score, but that first alicorn managed to pull off two 10's and a 9. the only way to break that one is to get a triple 10. our final contestant for alicorn division Is Shining Star." Gorge said. Frank added. "But from what i heard and have written down she was suppose to have been number two."

 

Shining Star looks out at the field nervous and doesn't trot out onto the field like all the other Alicorns did. Instead she bends down and speeds out of the starting gates startling the announcers. "And there she goes! That was the fastest i have ever seen anypony come out of the gates like that." shining star dodges obstacles and does her routine to the letter and by the end of the routine she only has 120 seconds on the clock remaining. "She has two minutes left, and it looks like she finished her maneuvers early. Listeners, if you finish your run before the timer runs down, you start loosing points." Shining Star with all her speed still begins nose diving and with only 10 seconds on the clock dose the double sonic rain boom with rainbows trailing her every turn. 5 seconds on the clock and suddenly another sonic boom is heard as minty green trails along with a rainbow trail could be seen. the buzzer goes off and the judges were awarding shining star with a triple 11 score.

 

"I dont believe it Frank! I just dont believe it. That filly just managed to pull off a double sonic Rainboom which hasn't been seen since the legendary Rainbow Dash saved the wonder-bolts from their doom when Rarity lost her wings!" "Not to mention that she then pulled out another sonic boom five seconds later. Well folks watching and listening. This is Frank," "And I'm Gorge" "and you have a good night"

[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

The announcer then had all of the contestants line up in a line side-by-side. Princess Celestia then came with the golden crown, the one she would award the Best Young Flyer of the season. Celestia walked behind all of the contestants. "Who will it be this year? Who will win?" The annoucer asked. Celestia then stopped right by Shining Star, and placed the golden winged crown on Shining Star's head. There was an eruption of applause. "Fillies and gentlecolts, your new Best Young Flyer of the season!" Celestia announced. Thunder Dash jumped for joy as the other pegasai dispersed. Once they all cleared, Thunder Dash flew down quickly and met Shining Star. "You did it! Go look in that mirror overthere!" Thunder Dash said excitedly. '

Shining Star moved over to the mirror and looked at herself, tears beginning to form in her eyes. "I cant believe i won. I cant believe i did it. but how did i create a second sonic boom when i was already flying faster than the speed of sound?" she asked while still looking at her crown.

"You probably kept speeding up after the initial breakthrough. But no time for that science talk. Let's celebrate!" Thunder Dash said as he swept up Shining Star in his arms and put her on his back. "Hang on tight 'cause here we go." Thunder Dash said as he sped off and headed down back to Ponyville.

"PARTY!!!!" Pinkie pie was shouting as she ran through the streets of ponyville passing out invitations to all ponies that lived there. 'We have to celebrate shining stars victory!!!! Ohmygoshthisissoexiting!!!!" Pinkie Pie was being more than pinkie pie at this time. Shining Star was wearing the biggest smile. "I cant wait till mommy comes home!!!"

[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

Thunder Dash flew right to Sugar Cube Corner to be bombarded with confetti, balloons and of course Pinkie Pie. She was going ballistic. Suddenly Rainbow Dash walked. "What's with all the..." She suddenly stopped and noticed Shining Star with the Best Young Flyer crown on her head. Rainbow Dash stood there dumbfounded with her mouth open wide. "How did you?!" She asked. Pinkie Pie then came out with one of the biggest chocolate cakes. "It's your favorite!" She sang out.

Shining stars eyes just go big and glossy and she tares after the cake. She goes through the cake and within minutes its all gone. " Mommy, mommy, i did a double Sonic Rainboom followed by what captain spitfire is calling a Super Sonic mint-boom and won the young alicorn flyers competition."

"What?! A double Sonic Rainboom. How can that be? I thought you can only do one sonic rainboom...wait...and a mintboom?! All in one flight?! That's the rarest thing ever. Oh my gosh! Shining Star, you've just made history today!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly. 

 

After everything had died down, Rainbow Dash, Thunder Dash, who was carrying Shining Star on his back, returned to the tunnels. The talent show was that evening, so Thunder Dash met with Sweetie Belle once more. He then returned to the tunnels for a short while.

Shining star was bouncing around. "Mommy can i go and gloat about this crown to diamond tiara? She will be so envious about me having a bigger crown then her puny tiara." she continues bouncing then freezes dead in her tracks. "am i going to be as famous as you when you did your sonic rainboom mommy?"

Rainbow Dash sweeps Shining Star in her arms. "Hay yeah! Of course you will. But on the bragging part, it won't be a nice thing to do, for that'll make things worse between you and Diamond Tiara. Let her find out for herself and see what she thinks. Who knows, maybe she'll respect you from here on." Rainbow Dash said. "Rainbow's right Shining Star, just because you've won something doesn't mean you have to brag about it. People will find out what happened. Be humble about it. Who knows, just like Rainbow Dash said. Diamond Tiara is just a prideful little filly who needs to learn the meaning of humbleness." Thunder Dash said. Thunder Dash then looked at the time. "Oh horseapples! Look at the time. The talent show starts in 15 minutes. Come on everypony, meet me at Ponyville Schoolhouse. I'm gonna go pick up Sweetie Belle. Rainbow, make sure Shining Star looks good." Thunder Dash said as he exited the tunnels. "Got it." Rainbow Dash said as she fetched her brush and started to brush Shining Star's mane and tail. After they got ready, Rainbow Dash put Shining Star on her back and headed to the Schoolhouse. There, they saw the stage where the talent show was gonna take place. They still had 10 minutes until it began. 

 

In the back of the stage. Sweetie Belle was shaking nervously. She had never performed in front of anypony ever. Thunder Dash held her, comforting her.

"mom? Who is sweety bell? have i met her? oh..wait... never mind i just remembered i haven't met any other ponies besides your friends." she sits down and waits for the talent show to begin looking around anxious. In the far back were the strange three ponies just watching. She turns back around and watches the talent show

 

(in the event you are wondering about the three ponies i keep referring too, they are undercover guards making sure that nothing happens to shining star)

[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

Soon, the time came for the talent show to start. Cheerilie came out. "Hello everypony, and welcome to the Ponyville Schoolhouse talent show. Tonight, you will see the amazing talents brought to you by our very own class! There will be awards for, best comedy, best action and winner overall, so without further ado, let's get started!" Cheerilie said. There were a total of twenty acts in the show, with Sweetie Belle's act being 15th on the list. 

 

The first act involved two young fillies dancing to a song. It was a decent performance. 

The second act involved a failed attempt at a magic trick from Snips and Snails

The third act was a high-action roller skating performance by Scootaloo and another filly

 

The acts past by and soon it was time for Sweetie Belle to perform. However, Sweetie Belle caught stage fright and did not want to go out once her name was called. "Sweetie Belle, why aren't you going out there." Thunder Dash asked. "...I...can't." Sweetie Belle said starting to cry. "Why?" Thunder Dash asked. "I'm...too...scared. If I mess up, people will laugh at me and humiliate me." Sweetie Belle said. "That's not true." Thunder Dash said cuddling Sweetie Belle in his arms.  

 

In the meantime, the remaining acts went ahead, after Cheerilie announced that Sweetie Belle wouldn't perform then. 

 

Backstage, Thunder Dash was comforting Sweetie Belle. "Look how far you've come Sweetie Belle. This is it. This may be your destiny. There's no time to back down. You CAN do it. I believe in you." Just as Thunder Dash had said these words, Cheerlie called Sweetie Belle, for she was the last act of the night. Thunder Dash walked out with Sweetie Belle and went to the piano. Sweetie Belle was singing her version of Fluttershy's Lullaby.

Sweetie Belle began to sing, blocking out all her surroundings and singing beautifully. Thunder Dash then broke out into a 120 beat-per-minute gospel-like beat and Sweetie Belle sang her heart out (OOC: At 0:50 of the track, Thunder Dash shouts "Sing it girl!")

 

At the last note, everypony in the room was standing and clapping. Sweetie Belle had the biggest smile on her face. 

 

After the applause died down and Thunder Dash and Sweetie Belle left the stage. It was time for the awards. Cheerilie stepped out. "Alright everypony, it's that time, for the awards. Best Comedy act goes to...Snips and Snails! Best Action Act goes to Scoolaloo and Blitzer! And now...the winner...of tonights talent show is..." There was a drumroll. "Sweetie Belle!" Cheerilie shouted. "WHAT?!" Sweetie Belle squeaked. "You did it Sweetie Belle! You won!" Thunder Dash said. Sweetie Belle then ran out to the stage and was given a trophy. When she returned, Thunder Dash noticed her brand new Cutie Mark: two eighth notes with a pinkish purple heart in the background. "Oh, Sweetie Belle, you may want to take a good look at yourself in the mirror." Thunder Dash said. "Huh?" Sweetie Belle asked very puzzled. She then went to the mirror and looked at herself. She then looked at her side and noticed her brand new true Cutie Mark. She gasped. "My Cutie Mark! My Cutie Mark!" She sang out. Thunder Dash just smiled. 

 

It was then time to return home. Thunder Dash met with the others along with Sweetie Belle. Just as they were about to leave, they encountered Rarity who was completely shocked to see Sweetie Belle's new Cutie Mark. After leaving Sweetie Belle with Rarity, Thunder Dash and the others returned to the tunnels.

"that was the best talent show i ever saw!!" Shining star said once they all got to the tunnels. Shining Star took off her bags and put them in her room and then came out with a book in her mouth. the title of the book was 'the mare in the moon' "Mommy, can you read this book to me?"
