[Flying Ace 142]

Shining star walks up to the balloon and looks up at it. Being so small she is unable to get in and she tries to fly up into the balloon. Finally she manages to get into the balloon and collapse on the floor. "So tired, why am i so tired?" She falls asleep and curls into a ball.

Ace was next to get in and looked at Star. "Well...we have been traviling alot...so I think thats why." When Ace realised that she fell asleep. Ace sat down at one end and waited for the others to get in. How did Celestia go missing? Wasn't there guards all over the place?

"Aww, that's so cute." Thunder Dash said gently picking up Shining Star and stroking her silky mane. Rainbow Dash giggled at this, for Thunder Dash usually doesn't pick up little fillies, for they tend to squirm in his hold. "When will those other two come? Time is slipping!"

Shining star wakes up and realized what Thunder Dash was doing. She quickly tried to wiggle out of his arms and then stops squirming. She just looks to the ground remembering what they are going to be doing now. "I think we should go ahead and lift off. im sure the other two will catch up. they are Pegasus after all"

"Okay but not to fast now, they won't know where we went." Thunder Dash said as he looked at the balloon rising in the air. Suddenly he saw two figures coming. "There they are!" Rainbow Dash said as she continue to wave. "There's still plenty of room, Thunder Dash has some very important and bad news." Rainbow Dash said.

"Okay but not to fast now, they won't know where we went." Thunder Dash said as he looked at the balloon rising in the air. Suddenly he saw two figures coming. "There they are!" shining star looks at Thunder dash with worry in her eyes. "Whats the bad news Thunder dash?" She looks at Rainbow Dash, "Whats going on? Did we fail before we even left to save celestia?" Shining star starts panicking while still in Thunder Dashes hoofs

Thunder Dash looked at Shining Star. "No it's nothing, I see Ace and Artifact coming towards us. Let's slow down so they could come into the balloon." Thunder Dash said still holding Shining Star. Rainbow Dash slowed the balloon to a stop and waited for the two pegasai to come.

Ace got in as the balloon stoped "so does anyone know where we need to go to serch for Celestia?" Ace asked Thunder as they were waiting for Artifact to get in the balloon as well. "And do we have any ideas on how to get Celestia out of wherever she is?"

Thunder Dash thought. "Well, for the first journey, we went though the Everfree Forest. But hold up, we're missing one thing: WHO captured Princess Celestia? If we don't find that out, then how will we find Celestia. I'd say we take a stop at Canterlot and see if any of the Royal Guards know who captured the Princess." Thunder Dash said. "It may be our only hope, for I don't know where the hay they could've taken the Princess." Rainbow Dash said.

"i think that might be a good idea." She looks at the balloon. "Dose anypony know how to fly this thing? and how long will it take for us to get to canterlot?" She remained in Thunder Dash's arms being that she felt safe for some reason while she was held. i wonder if dad will hold me like this

Thunder Dash looked in the distance. "My friends say it takes about two hours to go to Canterlot by train. But since we're going by air, we should be there in about 45 minutes." Thunder Dash said as he gently stroked Shining Star. "I just hope the guards who are there won't mistake us for traitors." Rainbow Dash said looking in the distance.

Thunder Dash looked in the distance. "My friends say it takes about two hours to go to Canterlot by train. But since we're going by air, we should be there in about 45 minutes." Thunder Dash said as he gently stroked Shining Star. "I just hope the guards who are there won't mistake us for traitors." Rainbow Dash said looking in the distance. 

"I'm sure they won't think were traitors espacily when they see you Rainbow since your an element of harmony." Ace said looking out into the distince where he thinks Canterlot is. But I still think were have trouble since there are traitors around. Ace thought.

"Minus well skip Canterlot for now...say, maybe some folks over in Manehattan probably got the word. Better yet, my cousin Storm Rush lives there and he might know who is behind this. So on to Manehattan. It'll take an hour by balloon." Thunder Dash said. "I remember him, you and him were parters back at flight camp." Rainbow Dash said. "Good memory Rainbow!" Thunder Dash complimented.

So on to Manehattan. It'll take an hour by balloon." Thunder Dash said. "I remember him, you and him were parters back at flight camp." Rainbow Dash said. "Good memory Rainbow!" Thunder Dash complimented. 

 

"Manehattan? we get to go to Manehattan?!" Shining star yells happily. "Can we see the pony of liberty and the twin towers when we get there? please, please, PLEASE!" the little filly starts getting very exited being that she has never once been to any of these two places

"We don't have much time, but we could fly over those spots and check'em out." Thunder Dash said. "Storm rush is gonna be sooo suprised about how tall you've grown." Rainbow Dash said. "Oh yeah, he is gonna be super-shocked!" Thunder Dash said. Rainbow Dash giggled at this remark.

 Shining Star looks in the distance and sees the coast approaching "is that Manehattan? is your cousin nice? will he come see the Pony of Liberty and the towers with us?" suddenly she freezes and looks down, "will he freak out when he sees my wings?" she said softly

"He's a pegasus as well, so there's no need to freak." Thunder Dash said as he looked for a place to land up ahead. Five minutes later the balloon landed. Rainbow Dash looked around. Suddenly Thunder Dash spotted a blue pegasus chilling under a tree. "Is that...Storm Rush?" Thunder Dash asked excitedly. The blue pegasus then got up and noticed Thunder Dash. "No way!" He yelled as he gallioped towards Thunder Dash. "Storm whaz up cuz?!" Thunder Dash asked excitedly as he and Storm Rush hoof-bumped each other. "Long time no see dude! Last time we saw each other was the last week of flight camp!" Thunder said. "It's been like forever!" Storm Rush said excitedly. Suddenly Storm turned to Shining Star. "And who do we have here?" Storm Rush asked. "That's Shining Star, we are on a quest to find out what happened to Princess Celestia. Have you heard?" Thunder Dash asked. "Hey little one! What's up?" Storm Rush asked Shining Star. Storm Rush then turned back to Thunder Dash. "I actually have heard that the Princess went missing, but investigators are still trying to figure out who did it...say, the Pony News on PNN comes on in about 10 minutes. Why don't we head over to my place and listen up." Storm Rush suggested. "That's a great idea." Thunder Dash said. "Oh and one more thing...who's that other pegasus behind Shining Star?" Storm Rush asked. "Oh, that's Ace, he accompanied us in this quest." Thunder Dash said. Storm Rush then greeted Rainbow Dash.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Storm Rush, as you already know I'm Flying Ace but first...can we get lunch? I missed breakfeast." Ace said while his stomech was making the rumbles. "What about you star? You hungry as well?" Ace asked looking at Shining Star. All the exitment made me forget lunch.

"We could go have lunch at my place. Besides, we could watch the news as well and see what's going on with Princess Celestia." Storm Rush said. "Sounds like a good idea." Thunder Dash said rising into the air. "We'll follow. Come on everypony, onto to Storm's house." Rainbow Dash said following behind Thunder Dash. "Lead the way Storm!" Thunder said. "You got it boss!" Storm said. "Hey! That's my phrase!" Rainbow Dash said. "So." Thunder Dash said.

at the sound of food shining's stomach started growling. "yes, i didn't have any breakfast either. It is a pleasure to meet you mister Storm-Rush" Getting hot she took off her cloak and tucked it into her saddle bags. "I have never been to Manehattan before, what are good places to eat at?"

"We're heading over to Storm's house." Thunder Dash said to Shining Star. "Yeah, food here in Manehattan is expensive. Just a burger at The Trotters House is 20 bits." Storm said. "Dear Celestia! That's expensive!" Thunder Dash exclaimed. Soon they arrived at Storm's place. Storm then quickly fixed some good sandwiches and salad. He then turned on the TV and news had just begun.

Shining Star sat down on the floor to watch the TV still stunned about how much food was in manehatten. finally before the news started about Celestia disappearing she asked "So is everything in Manehatten expensive?" Then the news started

 

"Thank you Mitch. Hi im Cherry Pie and i am standing outside the Canterlot Castle where just under a day ago PNN has found out that Celestia has gone missing. Some sever radicals are stating that she just decided that she was going to take a break from everything, others are stating that even though the, Equestrian Military Forces will not confirm or denies this next statement, others believe that there are traitors among the ranks. This reporter has tried to get an interview with the Captain of the Royal Guards an Elite Task Force that is to be watching the Princesses at all times and every time the Captain refuses to do the interview. With out Princess Celestia around and if she is not found with in the next three hours no one will be able to help Princess Luna with peace talks with yet another eastern continent. Staliongrads Russia. This reporter believes that if we dont get this peace talk and get this treaty yet another war will break out. From what I-"

​"So what your saying Cherry Pie, is that you believe that who ever did this knew what was hanging on in the balance?"

"yes mitch, everything was ridding on Princess Celesta being here this week. The talks with Staliongrads, Zebreskastand With out her, we may not even see the ambassadors show up. Not that Princess Luna can not handle it but in Their-"

"Sorry to cut you off like this again Cherry Pie, but we just got some very important news. As it turns out in three hours the Peace Talks were to be commenced, as it turns out it was to be finished in three hours. it started only moments ago and failed. Princess Luna tried her best, but the Ambassadors would not hear of it and Russia has declared war with Equestria and Zebreskastan has terminated the Cease Fire agreement. PNN has just found out that major battles are rising all over the middle east and Riots are taking place in Los Pegasus." holds ear for a minute and looks at camera with fear in his eyes. "Attention everypony watching this at home. Stay inside or go to the local schools and stay there. PNN has just found out after a failed attempt on Lunas life that they were never going to agree to this treaty.....Los Pegasus has has just been hit by bombs, England is currently trying to hold back the enemy....THE WORLD IS AT WAR"

the channel then switches to the Emergency Broadcast System

"Looks like we'll be housing here for the next several days." Thunder Dash said. putting his things down. "Can't go back out there since it's that dangerous." Storm Rush said. "But maybe that's a good thing." Rainbow Dash said. "You're right, we can discuss our plans on how to get Princess Celestia back. However, we must keep an eye on the news at all times. If we hear a cease fire report, we must hurry out as fast as we can." Thunder Dash said. "But, how will we know when they might resume war?" Rainbow Dash said. "Oh, I guess I didn't think about that." Thunder Dash said. "I have an idea, be right back!" Storm Rush said as he dashed to another room in his place. He shortly returned with several small devices. "Don't tell anyone this but, for a short period of time, I was in the Air Force. My troops were given these devices so that we can keep in touch with the Commander. Over the years, I worked on them and changed them to what I call the PPNND or, "The Portable Pony News Network Device". Basically you can take it wherever you go and you'll get continuous broadcasting of the news." Storm Rush explained. "But we won't be needing these for a while. As my cousin said, it's way too dangerous to go out there now." Storm Rush said. "I'm surprised that it hasn't reached Manehattan yet." Thunder Dash said with a small giggle.  

 

Thunder Dash and Rainbow Dash put the small devices in their bags and continued to watch the news.

Shining Star walked over to the window and looked out to see that ponies were running to get anywhere indoors. The EBS (emergency broadcasting system stopped playing the tones and a voice comes over the speakers.

 

"The National Equestrian Emergency Broadcasting System has been activated at the request of the Equestrian Government. The following areas must remain indoors unless instructed by the Equestrian Military Armed Forces. By request of Princess Luna the following EMAF personnel allowed in the evacuation process is as follows: EMAF Marines; EMAF Army; EMAF Navy; and EMAF Coast Guard. Do not evacuate with the EMAF Air-force. The following locations are advised against going outside their homes or places of work: Los Pegasus;Los Arabias; Los Caballos; Mexicolt city; Baltimare; Detrot City ; Hoofington; Whinnysota; Whoofsconsin; Maneapolis; Whinnypeg; Seaddle; Salt Lick City; Neigh Zealand; Neigh Orleans; Coltafornia. The named areas have been deemed EXTREAMLY HOSTILE. If you live in any of these areas do not attempt to fight back unless your home is breached."

 

the broad cast repeats six more times before PNN comes back on

 

"Just in. We just received word that the EMAF Air-Force ponies are the attackers. From the looks of things by this clip sent in from a camera crew on the roof" video plays while announcer is talking "it looks as if only a certain percentage has gone rouge and that they are battling each other. Wait...what was that sound? did some pony knock something over out their? Oh sweet Celestia  wait! don't  Don't shoot! ACK!" ponies rush into the studio firing at anything moving in the studio and soon all that's left is silence with the camera tipped over on its tripod. Shining star is standing by the window watching all this when suddenly an explosion rips through the streets below shattering the glass and blowing shining star to the floor

Thunder Dash gasped, dashed over and caught Shining Star. "We can't go anywhere out of Manehattan 'cause it's not safe. To make it worse the attack is coming to Manehattan." Storm Rush said. "But this building may collapse if too many explosions occur." Thunder Dash said. "Then what are we gonna do?" Rainbow Dash asked. "We can't fly out, for there is air warfare. The ground is also not safe because of explosions. So, we must stay here for as long as possible." Storm Rush said. "But wait, wouldn't Cloudsdale be a safe place? I mean, there shouldn't be much going on there." Rainbow Dash suggested. "You're right, but again, it's too dangerous to go out there right now. So let's stay here for the time. Once the explosions die down, we can make a quick bail to Cloudsdale." Thunder Dash said as he continued to hold and confort Shining Star.

"I just can't belive this Ace said as the explosins were continuing. "These guys are just....I can't even think of a word for them! Why are they doing this?! What phused them to do these horrible things?!" Ace asked trying to calm down, just yelling wouldn't help them.
