Its gets annoying how MLPForums is so limited on mobile devices using a web browser.

And with tapatalk I'd be more happier on a mobile device here

 

+ it does more than IPBoard and vBulletin do with mobile web browsers.

 

And in my honest opinion, I think it'd be a great idea for this forum.

We've been mauling it over for quite a while now, I believe the main thing stopping us is the cost just to use it, honestly I am not one of the techy guys around here ^^;

Tapatalk isn't a free app to buy, I don't think there is a great many people willing to buy it for this board. It's not an insignificant investment for essentially just a forum.

Tapatalk requires users to buy a $2 app that we have absolutely no control over, nor that we gain any profit share of, which isn't something I want to promote.

 

I'd much rather we released our own first- or second-party MLP Forums app, which would prevent us from leaving control of our brand and features in the hands of a third party, and would allow us to dictate the terms of the pricing. As well, it would provide excellent exposure in the mobile app stores.

 

We have been investigating the options for releasing our own mobile app for quite some time. There are several ways it can be done, but we have nothing to announce yet.

I use mlp forums on my ipod all the time. I don't feel like it's limited at all. You can do basically everything on the mobile site that you can on a computer, from a member's point of view anyway.
