Zygen 6,066 December 12, 2012 Author Share December 12, 2012 Well, I just rewatched Sonic Rainboom where the two jocks ask "get kicked outta any flight schools lately?" Dash: "I didn't get kicked out." Other jock: "Face it, Rainbow Crash, flight school had too many rules and not enough nap times for you." If she's telling the truth, I guess we can rule out her expulsion, at least in canon. Hm.. Good point, however maybe she quit? I have a feeling she atleast left. Because otherwise why would they have made the remark about it having to many rules and not enough nap time? I feel like she had to have atleast left. Its possible she was still kicked out. Maybe it was just one of those remarks where she was trying to come back saying I was(Insert synonym that sounds better here) You know what I mean? However I guess its possible she wasn't kicked out at all, I probably should've watched the episode again to check this line, because I remembered it a bit differently. I kinda want confirmation now, more then ever.. Not sure if it'll happen next episode though. This is my big problem with everyone about Rainbow Dash becoming a Wounderbolt, that if she becomes one she would have to leave her friends. This is what I have to say, Thats life. Sometimes we have to let go of friendships so that friend can leave their dream. If her friends did not want her to go then they aren't real friends. As long as the bond of friendship still exist with them, that friendship well last forever. That is a lesson I think everyone should learn. Plus I'm sure they let her leave if it meant she was going to save the world. Well while this can be true, the problem I have with it happening to Rainbow dash is because shes the element of loyalty. So she probably will stay loyal to her friends. If she just left and joined the wonder bolts and abandoned her friends that would kinda go against her character. And I'm not sure how common it is for a show to take out a main character like that. Especially a kids show. It does make sense in real life, but I don't think in Rainbow dash's case it does. I don't know if Rainbow Dash will give up her goal to be a Wonderbolt forever, but my thoughts largely echo those of everybody else, including Spring Storm and Chaotic Discord. Rainbow Dash should have more than enough speed and power to qualify, but questions surround her lack of finesse and ability to work as a disciplined team player. And most of all, she wouldn't be able to spend much time with her friends. It may have been unintentional, but Twilight Sparkle foreshadowed this dilemma when she said Rainbow Dash, "who could not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire represents the spirit of... loyalty" in the series pilot. If Rainbow Dash does join the Wonderbolts someday, it'll only happen at or near the series conclusion. This scene and the one where she rejects the offer of the shadowbolts keeps coming to my mind aswell. Plus the fact that she doesn't really seem to be a huge team player(Atleast she hasn't shown a whole lot of teamwork that I remember.) She tends to ride solo even if shes loyal. But I don't think shes going to just change and suddenly abandon her friends for her hearts desires. It would basically contradict not only that line, but her character! So yeah, she may or may not make it at first, but in the end she won't stay with the wonderbolts. I don't even know if she will at the series conclusion, unless something tragic happens. So what you are saying is that Rainbow Dash can only be loyal to her five friends and no one else? She can't join a group and be loyal to them? Now i'm not trying to get on you, but RD has shown that she is more than loyal to just her friends. RD is loyal to her princess, her town, her country. To me her element is more. Plus the only way she would feel that she abandoned them was if they asked her not to go and to stay in town. That would just showing that they are bad friends and she should try and get new friends. Also not all the ponies have lived up to their element. Look at Applejack and Rarity, they barely live up to their elements. 1 Made by Gone ϟ Airbourne

Still regardless of this, I still think she probably won't join the wonderbolts. It doesn't seem like the type of thing they'd write in because that would mean that Rainbow dash would practically be deprived of all of her screen time since she'll be busy with the wonderbolts. So while I suppose there is a chance if you think about it logically that they might be able to get by with her joining the wonderbolts to pursue her dreams, but as far as this next episode is concerned I'm pretty sure it won't happen. You brought up some great and interesting points, and don't worry your not getting on to me, I don't really get personal about debating a cartoon show . I actually enjoy it. So no hard feelings here Edited December 12, 2012 by Zygen 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig!
