"It's getting late.. I'm going to find an inn or something.. I guess I'll see you tomorrow.." Illuminate walked out of the library, and searched for a place to sleep. She was obviously regretting asking him such questions... and it wasn't her fault, he knew ponies would be curious, but it still made him so upset. He was now feeling guilty at having snapped at her and when he looked out a window he noticed that was, indeed, getting quite late. Finding a place to sleep would certainly be a welcome thing. "Hmmmm." Red left the library and spotted Illuminate under a tree. She was sleeping. He approached her as quietly as he could and removed his pack, placing it beside her. Firestorm 8 January 24, 2012 Author Share January 24, 2012 Day 1: The Beginning The night went by as quickly as the morning came. The sky was cloudy and soft breezes graced the land. It seemed like a great start for an adventure into the Everfree Forest. With a good night's sleep and full saddlebags, the adventurers were ready. They were all gathered in front of the town hall where the mayor gave them some guidelines on how to survive in the forest. Velvet shook her head slowly and yawned. It seemed more like a lecture as the mayor went on ranting about how not to disturb a manitcore or keeping away from the eastern parts of the forest. Some in the group questioned on why they should avoid the eastern parts of the forest but the mayor seemed hesitant to answer. "Well...I...uh...have no idea but the founders of Ponyville had always gave clear warnings about the eastern parts of the forest so...I'm just following a tradition," the mayor said and grinned nervously. It was an obvious fib and everypony knew it but nopony decided to question her further. Velvet rubbed her chin thoughtfully. The eastern part of the forest used to be a settlement area during the Middle Ages but it was never developed properly. The place was eventually claimed by nature and its history forgotten. It didn't seem significant but the idea of exploring unexplored ruins piqued Velvet's interest. After the mayor was done and bade them good luck, Velvet gained everypony's attention by blowing a whistle. "Alright, I don't know what the mayor's trying to hide but I say we go explore the eastern parts of the forest. What say you?" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He can't do much without it I don't think.. I need to return this to him." She realized she was a little late, and she quickly grabbed the sack and ran towards Everfree Forest. "Blast it, I was late after all!" Cursing his mental alarm clock for not working when he needed it, he angrily levitated his bag into the air and hurried off towards the direction of the forest,. He could barely see the others now-they were just specks in the distance-but if he hurried he could catch up. "Wait for meeee!" he yelled. She could feel the Everfree Forest calling to her. Her adrenaline shouted for adventure and Velvet had no problem fulfilling it. The Mayor's warning served not as a deterrent but an encouragement for the band of adventurers. "C'mon, slowpokes, race ye all to the forest! Last one there's a blank flank!" she shouted excitedly. Firestorm 8 February 1, 2012 Author Share February 1, 2012 Velvet smiled. They weren't gonna catch up with her. Aside from Haste and Illuminate, the rest were not following. Not yet at least. They day was still young and Velvet looked back once in a while to see who else was following her. "Hey, Haste, be a good pony and help Illumiate with her saddlebags will you?" Velvet said while flying backwards. That was until she knocked into a tree and fell to the ground. "Ah fiddlesticks," she muttered while rubbing her sore back.
