cuteycindyhoney 13,307 December 31, 2012 Share December 31, 2012 Honestly, I hoped I'll point you in right direction with hints, but... No, it's not like library at all. Libraries have very special license allowing them to borrow the material indefinitely or over certain time period. There is a reason why you can buy DVD for 19.99 where library will pay several times more for the very same DVD (shops renting movies pay even more, as they aren't in the education category). But if you buy DVD, and then send it back to the market, every time it changes owner it rips off the author and walks a very fine line with regards to laws. I do volunteer work at my library. The majority of DVDs coming in to be added to the circulation are in the form of public donations from library patrons. I've given quite a few discs myself. Aside from that. If someone requests a disc not in the collection, they can get if from an inter-library loan, or they buy it on Amazon for the cheapest price they can find. That includes USED, if they can get a good deal. This is my last entry in our exchange. I get the feeling you're intentionally being obtuse and it's getting a trifle annoying. Dreamsofmutilation 24 December 31, 2012 Share December 31, 2012 So instead of watching MLP FIM on t.v I watch it on hubworld.com so people don't know I watch it. They uploaded ever season 3 episode the monday after it came on but not on friday they still haven't uploaded this episode. Any idea why? (Don't tell me to watch on youtube) Did you make sure you have swag? Most people don't realize this, but to watch an episode of MLP, they've got to have swag. Please contact your local swagfag for more information. "Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. Are you really, honestly trying to tell me you do NOT understand libraries have very special way of dealing with licences and copyright and that comparing them to the shop selling used wares on the corner just doesn't work? Ok. Then I guess you don't really know why comparing data to a car doesn't work either. The point stands tho, if you enjoy movie / software / whatever, you'll buy it new, because buying used doesn't make you any better (or worse) than a pirate in regards to support of the author. Dashicorn 74 January 5, 2013 Share January 5, 2013 Like I've said I want to watch it from someone who has permission to upload it and I'm pretty sure no one on youtube has permission. Even if they 'don't have permission' which I'm almost sure they do, it will come no negative outcome towards you. You won't get in trouble. “No one is more qualified than you are to decide how you live; no one should be able to vote on what you do with your time and your potential unless you invite them to. ”
