My second pony picture!

I decided I wanted to get better at artwork, but then got really lazy and put it off for a while   But I kicked myself up the backside this morning and just finished my second ever pony picture, and I must say it's looking a lot better than my first!

 

Edit: I forgot to mention who they were, it's my oc Script (when she was a filly) with her older brother Gloss.

For a second image, this is quite nice.

 

The legs are a bit off. They shouldn't really bend that way. And they look a bit narrow for the older one's body. The bodies are nice, but the older one's might be a bit big. I like the manes and tails, and the heads are done well. The eyes look quite good too.

I don't use GIMP, but it's similar to the tool I use, except free. If you want, I would suggest trying the free trial of Paint Tool SAI. They are quite similar. But SAI has this button:

If you need help with proportions, Pix3m did a very helpful and clear series of notes on the show's style.

Gimp is a great program by the way, in my opinion once you are aware of its functions (and now that it is compatable with photoshop brushes) it is on par with more expensive options.
