Tempest Chaser 45 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 Hello all, I just signed up for these forums but have been a fan of MLP most of my life. I'm one of the few Bronies I know who doesn't hate everything pre FiM. I was one of the children of the 80s and remember watching the original show as a young one. I had many of the ponies and my He-man used them as war horses. I must admit when I first heard about FiM I didn't jump on right away. After all being in my late 20s now I just felt odd watching. Though as my friend pointed out watching Transformers, TMNT, and GI Joe watching MLP: FiM shouldn't be that big of a a stretch. So back in 2011 I finally gave in to watching the new show and haven't looked back. I love the show. It is truly amazing and is often on in the background now just because I find it so enjoyable. However I still have friends who don't understand the "Brony" craze. To them I just tell them tough, I like it. You have a problem then you have a choice, 1) don't talk to me or 2) keep it to your self. I've converted some and others we just don't talk about it. I'm a huge fan of collecting figures and do reviews that I post on youtube. I just started doing that and finding that enjoyable. Just got into collecting MLP: FiM figures so no reviews of those yet. A huge fan of TMNT, Dr. Who, GI Joe, Transformers, and DC comics. Anyway I look forward to becoming part of this community and spending a lot of time among fellow fans. 1 My Youtube Reviews * My Fanfics * My OC * My Webpage
Dave247 568 January 9, 2013 Share January 9, 2013 @@Tempest Chaser Welcome Tempest! Sorry for being rather late but I've decided it's about time I started venturing into the welcoming plaza again and when I saw your well written topic with 0 replies I couldn't let it stay like that. it's nice to hear you enjoyed the previous generations of MLP. I don't hate it myself and are interested to watch any documentaries that are made explain the history of the previous generations but I don't exactly want to go back and watch all the episodes though. "Bronyism" is a problem when it comes to friends but it's a good test to see if their a real friend or not. If they are they will either become interested in it themselves or just not care but still remain your friend. I had some people I used to call "friends" who I knew would give me a hard time when they found out, and they did so I completely cut contact with them as that's where it was headed anyway. It's nice to see you get enjoyment as a collector, it's a interesting yet often expensive hobby but at least you have something physical for all your hard work I am also quite into Doctor Who I love the story arcs that they do as it's a real mind bender and makes the whole series seem so epic. Not so much TMNT anymore but I used to enjoy watching the cartoons in the mornings on TV. I think you will fit right in this community as I already came across two of your posts already by chance before seeing this topic. In closing let me finish with the official welcome song! Twilight Circuits 604 January 10, 2013 Share January 10, 2013 Wow someone actually more my age. (i'm 36) Let me be the second to welcome you to the forums and the most loving fandom in the world. We've talked about a lot here in the forums and continue to do so still. That actually includes but not limited to topics of various sorts as outlined in the forum rules and regulations formed by the Feld0 hierarchy of love. If that makes no sense, don't worry, we're all still figuring that part out. Have fun! For I have saved your soul in the heavens, and now save it on the ground. - TwilighCelunaCircuits
