A story where Celestia is NOT the villain or evil

I am need of a fanfiction calming session, I have been in discussion that has left me annoyed and frustrated and I wish for a fanfiction where Celestia is not show as evil, a tyrant, a troll, but a strong benevolent ruler that loves her subjects... perhaps even like how a mother loves her children.

 

It can be a shipping fanfiction, one involving Celestia and sister Luna or Celestia and her student Twilight.

Well I don't know if it counts but I am currently in the works of making a fan fic atm which has Celestia being Celestia? All characters will act normally (well except Luna who is now Gamer Luna :3) currently trying to work on writing back story for my OC however which will be involved

I don't read fanfics all the time, but I do remember there being this one actually really simple but great fanfic in which Twilight decided to sneak around the castle in areas she wasn't supposed to be in and Celestia forgave her. I don't think I'll ever understand how most of you Fimfiction people manage to find things, but I'm hoping that's enough information to find it because I don't really remember the name of it right now.

 

Speakin' of that, is Celestia being a tyrant really that overdone? I've heard of many fanfic cliches, but somehow that one didn't get across my radar. Ya see, someone challenged me to write a human in Equestria story that was free from most cliches (which to be honest I thought I was doing a good job at even though I haven't worked on it in awhile) and I'm surprised I didn't notice this one and I'm also kind of glad that the main villain isn't Celestia.

Well it seems in many ways to be the default storyline when you need a villain or antagonist in a more dramatic/serious/grimdark setting. Instead of using the many villains already made, from the current generation or past... or just make one up, you make Celestia a villain.

Maybe I have just been unlucky, that and I was in 'conversation' about the subject so I want examples of stories where you can have something very well done without resorting to such.

 

Anyone have fanfictions they could recommend? I would be most grateful for any that can provide links, just some fanfiction where Celestia is shown positively and as a protagonist/good guy character.

How about this one? It has a human in it but Celestia saves him even after he tries to punch her and ruins the Gala. That's pretty benevolent of her in my opinion.

I could recommend a few off the top of my head. For starters there's A Moment in the Sunlight  and Destiny and Other Lies Told to Foals, both stories that feature Celestia in an almost motherly light towards her subjects, Twilight specifically in the latter. If you're still looking for more, might I also suggest two groups on Fimfiction who archive positive Celestia stories: Protect Celestia and Momlestia respectively.

I had read recently a fanfic on fanfiction.net called "The god Particle" regarding a human stranded on Equestria.

The quality of the writing is exceptionally good, and Celestia takes a great role there, as a devoted leader of Equestria.

This has been something that has bothered me, too, for quite a while.  I don't like the idea of Celestia being "bad" or "evil" and honestly the idea is old and overused. There are some stories where it's totally cool and they pull it off nicely, but I'm really tired of everyone making Celestia bad.  I'm in the process of writing a story that I'll hopefully find some VAs for and I want Celestia to be nice and lovely but firm and strong like she always is.  Although that being said, most of the stories that have Celestia as bad are usually like super mature because they have lots of blood and violence.

How about Upheaval? Celestia's main character trait in that is her strong devotion to protecting her subjects from harm. There are times that she is at odds with the Mane 6's beliefs of what is "right", but it is all born of love for her subjects.

 

In short, Celestia loves and protects her subjects, but it's brought to question whether she's doing the right things for their sake. Good plotline.
