That first one looks GREAT!  THe second one is a little lop-sided, and the head looks kinda strange.  Overall pretty good job on them.

Thanks! Yeah, I actually drew the second one first, and I do agree that it's not as good. I'll keep drawing and try to do even better next time!

You show lots of potential.

Your shading on the one on the left is good. Your anatomy could use some work though, I'd recommend making the legs a bit longer and the ears have a bit more curve to them. Although, anatomy is ultimately a style choice.

 

Rainbow's hoof on the right drawing is a bit far from the joint, and there isn't any visible connection between the body and hoof. Her mane could also be a bit longer, which you did fix in the second drawing which is good.

 

Most of this is me just nitpicking, and everything can be fixed with practice, practice and more practice.

I think these are pretty good for just doodles, they make me want to break out the good old pencil and sketch pad and draw some of my own handiwork! It does need a bit of improvement though - Some of the body parts look a little out of place, and gives it an unnatural tone, but overall I think it's good.

 

Keep on sketching, you'll get really good at it eventually!
