Hello everyone!

Here's where I show my art. Currently, it's on a non-regular basis and I still don't know all the tricks, but I'm getting there. Now let's start off with my own OC.

Mandelsoft's OC (name to be decided)
A while ago, I started to make a pony avatar, a pony alter ego. I used a template image from someone else's pony avatar and made my own with InkScape. Here is the first version:

... but I wasn't too happy about it, especially the eyes, manes and tail. They look off.

I also made a Soviet version of it, just for fun (it was an in-joke over at the SimTropolis chat)

You see little improvements here and there. The eyes are vastly improved. But it's still only 2D. I wanted to do something with perspective.

So I used another template image, this time with perspective. I only got the head in perspective; the rest of the body is hand drawn. I completely started over and made this image, which is my current avatar.


I'm quite happy about the result, though there are a few things that I may want to change:
- The background is not that interesting. I could use something in the MLP style.
- The hard hat doesn't look right, but I'm having trouble to make it look more right...

Any other constructive comments from you?

Further information about the character:

• Name: to be decided (suggestions?)
• Species: Pegasus
• Cutie Mark: No idea. I've hidden it under the pants. Any suggestions?
• Special Talent: Construction engineering, planning
• Character feats: <NAME_HERE>  is a pony with plans, lot's of plans. He's always working on a construction project of some sort: buildings, bridges, dams, you name it! He's surveying each project with his grand view from above to see things in a larger perspective and apply this knowledge to work out the details better.
  
  <NAME_HERE> is sportive, fair, smarty, but sometimes too over-enthousiastic and acts sometimes more quickly than he can think properly about his actions. <NAME_HERE> is also not the most sensitive pony there is around and he may hide his true emotions from the rest of the world.
  
  Oh, and <NAME_HERE> is really picky when it comes to food...

Your wings... Are a bit off. There should be for feathers that are longer towards the head, and shorter towards the flank. Everything else looks fine though. As for closed, the not feather bit should be shorter.

 

As for names... Cant help ya there Cutie mark could be a blue hard helmet with white lines through it (Like a blueprint).

OK, I've changed the wings and it looks a little better now (left = old, right = new):

 

 

A blueprint as cutie mark, not a bad idea... I came up this this:

 

I have also thought of names:

- Blueprint

- Sketchy Feathers

- Mark Vector / Vector Mark.
