StormzInvader 127 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 So, I want to have other alternatives for making my music because as of now, I use my iPad mostly to make my music. I want to try to have software on my computer that will make amazing music. I can't really play any real instrument, so I guess just computer generated music would do. Are there are any good softwares to use? I heard FL Studio is good. Also, I'm not sure if this is where you put these kinds of stuff. Sorry if I do! Haven Celestii 9,385 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 Fl Studio is pretty good. Not sure how it compares to others like Reason or Cubase, as I've never used either of the two, but its good. I'd say that is a good place to start.
Scootaloodle 1,623 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 I'd get FL studio as that's what I use and I find that's easy, Image Line who make FL studio give a free fully working (just can't save anything) demo of it. Although I don't know much about computer generated music, but I use lots of Disco loops of old song's and that's easy peasy in FL studio I buy a searies of magazines made my music radar called 'Computer Music' and another called 'Future music' that you might want to look into getting, there always full of tips, and reviews and so on of Software aka Digital Audio Workstations and the lots more such as free plugins and interviews and lots of useful stuff

How long does the demo last for? I've wanted to try FL studios myself for a long time, but i've been weary of downloading the demo, because I wouldn't want to download it, suddenly get busy with other RL issues, and then come back to an expired trial. I've been watching you, all this time.
StormzInvader 127 January 29, 2013 Author Share January 29, 2013 I also forgot to mention that I mostly use my OS X rather than my Windows so something for OS X would be a much better choice for me. Sorry for the late mention! Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature!

I don't think there's any time limits on it, I checked up on the website and it seems to say the only limitation is you can't save files untill you purcahse the full version, I don't really remember anytime limits when I had it as a demo

The thing is, I don't want to pay, but I will if the time calls for it. Anyway, do you still use the demo up to now? Finally, is the demo good enough? I'm sorry for asking too many questions. There are a lot popping up in my mind right now. Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature!

I haven't got the demo anymore, haven't for a while, I defiantly need save because I can't do song's in one sitting, but that's just me. I like to take my time on my music till I'm happy with it

Because I might just use FL Studio demo forever until I get into my more complicated projects. Probably I'll just go around and create a loophole or something. I'll somehow try to improvise. (Nyanyanyah) What is included in the demo anyway? Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature!

Everything is included in the demo, you can even export, and I was wrong you can save files you just can't reopen them again untill you purchase the whole version and some of the synthesizers may make white noise sometimes. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by whole sitting? Anyway I've pasted a link in with more info and a download link at the top of the page and some information about demo limitations, and system requirements and so on further down from Image Lines website ) http://www.image-line.com/downloads/flstudiodownload.html
Haven Celestii 9,385 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 It is possible, however, to make a song in one sitting? That depends from person to person. I have once or twice before and I did like the results, however, I do believe finished songs would be generally all around better if you take your time with it, unless you seriously feel its good enough. That's not to say that it will always come out bad from doing so, but I hope you get my point. You can stay in the program for hours upon hours (which is usual actually) or just leave it open over night if you choose. Leave the program on while you take your breaks. IronPuddinG 249 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 Choose what you'd like to use. I personally use FL studio because of it's simple design. Some people say that FL Studio is for people who don't make professional music. I must respectfully disagree with that. Each DAW is essentially the same. It's just how people use it. So, go for it if you're looking at FL Studio. I've thought about dabbling with Abelton Live, but never got around to it. StormzInvader 127 January 30, 2013 Author Share January 30, 2013 The only thing I hate is that my Mac can't really run FL Studio because it is only a .exe thing. I don't have Crossover, Parallels, or a Bootcamped computer. I guess I'll stick with Garageband. Is that good enough to make decent music? XD Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature! XD I’ve never used Garageband before so I can’t tell you if it’s good or not, but I’ve scanned in some pages about DAWs from an issue of Computer Music magazine, it talks about one called Logic Pro, which it seems to imply is good for people who are using Garageband already. Anyway hope this helps

D: I guess I'll give it a shot though. Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature!
