gaming Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask and it's relation with MLP:FiM(SPOILERS)

This topic is about the relation I found between Professor Layton and the miracle mask with MLP FiM, if you're playing this game right now and you don't want to get to know the end yet don't read it.

 

I've always loved this game, i finished all the 5 existent series (The curious village, the diabolical box, the unwound future, the last expecter and the miracle mask) and i'm waiting for the last one (Azran Legacies) that is going to be release this year in Japan.

 

I think this game is wonderful, each series has a great story behind, it's puzzles are magnificent and makes your brain "sweat". If you haven't played this game yet, i recommend you to play it, you're going to enjoy it very much.

 

There was something about this series (The miracle mask) that trapped me, and it's about the magic of friendship! (Just like MLP! yay! )

 

Now come the spoilers:

 

Professor Layton receives a letter from Angela (an old friend of him) telling that there is a man called "the masked gentleman" who is trying to destroy the city she is living now (Mont d'Or) .

Then Layton goes there with his crew trying to find clues to figure out who is that man behind the mask.

When Layton arrives, he finds out that Angela married to Henry (another friend of him).

 

The game happens in 2 time periods, one in the past and one in the present.

 

The one that happens in the past, shows a teenage Layton. He lives in a place called Stansbury and his best friend is Randall. This guy is Angela's boyfriend and a friend of Henry.

 

Randall is a cheerful guy who wants to be an archeologist and asks Layton to do a journey together to find the treasure of the Azran civilization, and the key to find that treasure is to use the miracle mask.

Just one step before finding the treasure, the floor cracks and Randall falls into the precipice. Layton feels responsible of this because he couldn't help his friend to save his life and to make his dream come true. After telling Angela and Henry Randall's death, he leaves Stansbury.

 

In the present period, Angela asks for help, so Layton deals with his dark past again.

 

In the end, it seems that Randall is the masked gentleman, he didn't die, he lost his memory and lived in other place. Descole (one of the villians) sent letters to him telling that Henry have stolen everything he had (Angela, his fortune, etc), he recovered his memory and for revenge, Randall became the gentleman mask to destroy Mont d'Or (the city that Henry had founded in 18 years).

 

When Randall tries to bury Mont d'Or in sand, Layton finds out that Mont d'Or was founded above the Oasis of the Azran civilization, and uses the miracle mask to raise the city and miraculously avoids Mont d'Or to be buried.

 

After all that happens, Angela, Henry and Layton tell the true to Randall. In fact, Henry always had the hope that Randall was alive, and founded that city just to give Randall a proper welcome. Henry's marriage to Angela was false too, because Angela's parents wanted her to marry somebody, and Henry told her to marry falsely just to find Randall together so when he arrives she would marry him.

 

In their childhood, Henry used to be Randall's butler, but Randall took Henry as a friend and as a brother. That's why Henry was always grateful with Randall, so with the magic of friendship, he could found a city and do everything to find his friend, and he achieved that.

 

So the moral of this story is that with the magic of friendship you can move montains!

There's a part when Layton discovers that Descole is the one who sent the letters to Randall, and Descole tells Layton "Well played, Layton, well played", do you remember someone who says the same thing to Fluttershy?
