Eragonrde12 49 February 5, 2013 Share February 5, 2013 Hi, I've been a brony since, like September 2012, not a really new brony here Joined this website today though. I must say right off the bat, I have the drawing skills of a 1st grader, so can't draw very well -_- , don't expect me to make amazing art on deviant art or something like that. I like MLP:FiM (Duh), video games, more of a horror(my dad won't let me get Amnesia )/indie gamer/really hard puzzle gamer (like portal 2). I play most of my games on my laptop, my fav console is Xbox 360, I don't hate Wii/PS3, so don't yell at me. My favorite pony is Fluttershy (idk why) and my friends know I'm a brony (managed to convert one recently), almost my whole class has seen my MLP background, most of them don't know what MLP:FiM is. No one in my class cares that I watch MLP. My family has no idea I watch it (its on "recently watched" on netflix everywhere, how do they NOT see it?). I am 13 so I can be on this website. I want to be like some sort of person who makes video games, so if anyone knows of an easy programming language that you can teach yourself, tell me plz. I am the oldest of my siblings and have no idea at all how they would react to me being a brony (well my brother would call me a "woman" and run off, but he's a dork, and calls me the meanest brother ever even if I just make him get out on the other side of the car) So I really don't know what else to say except: /) 3 Amazing sig made by Gone ϟ Airbourne
Alex Kennedy 1,228 February 5, 2013 Share February 5, 2013 I have the drawing skills of a 1st grader You lucky bastard. I would kill to have drawing skills that good. My favorite pony is Fluttershy Good. I'm glad you made the right choice. I want to be like some sort of person who makes video games, so if anyone knows of an easy programming language that you can teach yourself, tell me plz. I learned Python through Idle, but that was in a class. I don't know enough about any other languages to recommend one, but Alice is a good place to start if you want to get an introduction into the way programming works. Gamemaker isn't actually programming, really but it allows you to make simple games and it's pretty self-explanitory. Anyway, welcome to the forums! 1 Real men don't need signatures... or legitimate usernames.
Antismurf9001 1,271 February 5, 2013 Share February 5, 2013 (\ Hello and welcome to the forums! Don't worry, I can't draw to save my life. You're not alone. Also good to see a fellow Fluttershy fan. As for programming languages, I currently know two of them, Racket (basically Scheme) and Java also known as Hatred in physical form. Both can be used to make games if you know how. Racket is pretty easy to pick up, but it involves more parentheses than you ever want to see in your life. Java is good in that it's very easy to organize, but it is also very safe and it makes you go through a whole lot of crap before you actually get to typing anything that's meaningful to the code. If you're interested, here's a link to download DrRacket, where you can easily create and run Racket programs, and another link to a free online textbook on Scheme/Racket programming (no, it's not illegal. the authors purposely published it free online). Note: for the textbook, you may want to be looking at the second edition, because that deals with Racket, however, it is not completed yet. The first edition is basically the same, but it details Scheme and won't tell you about the world functions. As for Java, I'd recommend downloading Eclipse, and following either online Java tutorials, or the textbook here (again, this is meant to be free). The textbook however, is not completed yet. 1 "Ceterum censeo background ponies delendas esse" - Stellafera Credit for the Octavia vector goes to the awesome Harmonic Revelations Credit for the creation of my avatar and signature goes to the amazing Wubsie Once again, thanks! StormzInvader 127 February 8, 2013 Share February 8, 2013 Hey, hey! Don't forget me! I suck even MORE at drawing than anybody here. My art comes from a computer though which I can say isn't that good either, but it is way better than me drawing with a pen and paper. Also, welcome to the forums! Sadly, I don't plan on making video games or know any software that can do such. I am trying to make videos on YouTube though. I actually make music (working on one right now), and computer art (also working on one right now). Hope you enjoy the community! Everyone here is really fun and friendly. You'll find someone to relate with, I bet. If you need someone to chat with, just shoot me a message. I'm not hard to contact. I answer in a couple minutes if I'm online here and I answer in a few hours if I'm not which means that I try to stay as active as possible. :3 Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature!
