"For the love of- Discord is sure as hell having fun watching this," Krein said rolling his eyes. They had done nothing but argue over trivial matters since the very start, so if that's the way things were going to go , he figured he would try to work solo every now and then. Now was a good start, since he still had the gut feeling they were close to something big due to the beast attacks. The alicorn focused on his surroundings and began to search the ground for anything. Finding nothing there, he turned to the trees. He spenta few minutes looking at a few that had some markings, and only called out when he found something useful.

"What do you guys make of this?"

The subtle markings on the tree trunk were barely visible, but it was clear they were shaped in a six pointed fashion. One of them seemed to point towards an off track and more gloombound direction at that.

"Sloppy, even for Discord..."

"From what I've heard of this Discord, he doesn't do sloppy. I think it's a trap. What are the odds that we find the one helpful marking in just how many square miles of forest? I figure we should ignore it, nothing good'll come out of any of this, mark my words."

Addem spoke up, trotting up to the markings and looking at them. "Even if it's a trap, it's the only lead we have. The Everfree's a strange place; I doubt we'd be able to find Flutters in here, even if Discord weren't trying to mess with us. Plus, if it is a trap, it might lead us to her."

"And like I said, I doubt those twisted beasts were just attacking us for the hell of it. They were probably trying to keep us from finding something important, and lo and behold, here's this thing..."

Kreinbahthur shot a small orb of controlled flame into the air above him, lighting the path ahead. The path looked to have been forsaken, but now had signs of recent use.

"Keep a lookout for anything else round here.."

"I'm ready now." Glacier said, revitalized from the short rest. "If those creatures were trying to keep you away then they certainly tried to. Weren't counting on my amazing power though." Glacier shook a hoof and then shook the rest.

 

"Well then, what are you waiting for? I thought you were in a rush to save a hermit so you can use her as a tool to defeat a powerful draconeqqus.
