Mare of Night 6 October 15, 2011 Share October 15, 2011 (edited) At first, I was skeptical. My Little Pony, come on! And then I watched the show. My god. I am dearly sorry to anypony I may or may not have told that they are stupid for watching such a great show. My Little Pony resides in a special place in my heart now. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi, and I hope to get to know you fellow Bronies. I have high hopes that we will participate in interesting discussions away from the haters. A little bit about myself: aside from MLP, I love Doctor Who and various other Sci-Fi shows. I have an unhealthy obsession with Valve games and the Legend of Zelda series. I am musically inclined. I taught myself to play various instruments and have the ability to play a song, just by listening to it, on any instrument. My favourite character from MLP is Fluttershy. I almost forgot to mention that I absolutely LOVE MSPA. Namely Homestuck. Brohoof to all you guys. Mare of Night 6 October 15, 2011 Author Share October 15, 2011 Really? I know this is all about love and toleration but… Quite frankly, I find it hard to love OR tolerate Matt Smith. I mean, personally, I think it is Steven Moffat’s fault. Matt Smith is alright (despite being a little overly corny) but Steven Moffat is just a terrible writer. I mean, sure he wrote the absolutely AMAZING silence in the library episode. But he just over-complicates the story. I mean, I LOVE a complicated story, but Steven just can’t get it right. To answer your question, my favourite Doctor is David Tennant. Wow he was so good. Sorry for raging a little about Moffat and Smith, I respect all people’s opinions. Captain Marvelous 544 October 15, 2011 Share October 15, 2011 I'm fairly new to Doctor Who, Only seen 10th and 11th doctor episodes... need to see more, before I can make a decision. okay ponies, give me all your treasure. Mare of Night 6 October 15, 2011 Author Share October 15, 2011 Really, you should start watching from season 1 (Christopher Eccleston) so you can understand all the Bad Wolf stuff. But, Doctor Who tends to keep it's storylines per season. Bad Wolf is mentioned in the David Tennant episodes, but if you really want to fully understand it, just watch the last half of the Christopher Eccleston season. Heartstrings 102 October 15, 2011 Share October 15, 2011 I find Moffat a better writer. Davis tried to make the Doctor too invincible and he felt too human. Matt Smith's feels more alien and is prone to make a lot of mistakes (which he always fixes, but not without consequences). Tennat was a better actor, but I find Smith is playing a better character. I find the complexities work fine. They do have their problems, but I love how Moffat is really playing with time travel in unique ways (Pandorica craziness, he doctor manipulating his past self). Mare of Night 6 October 15, 2011 Author Share October 15, 2011 The Pandorica episode was very poorly written in my opinion. also the most recent episode. What I loved about Russel T. Davis is he made things make sense. the fact that all of history was happening at once (SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER) was quite ridiculous and that, really should not have happened. According to the laws of time and physics that is. Admittedly, I did enjoy how the Doctor used his alternate self to help save the day. This is an aspect of time-travel that, unfortunately, has not been used nearly enough. In fact, the last time I think it was used was "The Five Doctors". (That's ye olde Who by the way) You know what? I'm gonna start a thread on this in the evergreen forest or whatever it's called. Please join in the conversation! TallBrony91 29 October 15, 2011 Share October 15, 2011 Hey and welcome to this amazing and down right awesome MLP Forum. I use to be a Doctor Who fan but because of being a bit busy and watching less TV, I don't get the chance sometimes now to watch Doctor Who (I should really get back into it lol XD) I kinda stopped when I watched a few episodes when David Tennant was the Doctor but I did see a few episodes as the series progressed (so yer you can tell me that I suck lol XD) but I did watch the series when Christopher Eccleston was the doctor (the 9th one I believe), and I think he was a good, not the best as like Tennant but I liked him. Anyway I hope you have an amazing and down right awesome time here. TWITTER/TUMBLR/FACEBOOK/RAINBOW DASH NETWORK
