I made a MLP themed club at my local campus...

It's called the TLC club. Togetherness, Love, and Care. This was made back in November of last year. It got approved back in December, but I haven't done anything with it yet. The club is designed to promote equality around campus. No more segregating thoughts, etc. We're all the same, after all. I also hoped to make people more friendly towards one another.

But there are problems...

Being a club president, has many responsibilities, and I have no idea how to run an entire club. Also, there are Senate meetings that presidents should attend, but I have class at that time, and therefore, unable to do so. A huge concern for me, is that people won't even show up to the meetings. And, even if they do, what do I do? I don't want to make it seem like my club is just a hang out spot. But, because it's such a vague club, there's not much that you can do. There are clubs at my college, such as, guitar, psychology, and math. Those are subjects, and courses offered. Lastly, my club advisor, because it's mandatory. My club adviser is a 62 year old part time English teacher. She was my instructor last semester for College Writing. Your advisers are supposed to attend every meeting, but, I'm sure she has more important things to do in her time.

So, I emailed the vice president of Student Government, and told him to cancel the club. I never had a meeting, and I'm so stressed because I'm worried for the group that I'm involved in. My group is hoping to do episode dubs and we're behind schedule. I know that the vice president received my email, but there was no response. I'm guessing he deleted the evidence it existed.

What do I do? There may be other bronies and pegasisters in my campus, and I'd love to befriend them. It's just, at the same time, I know I'm gonna get the trolls and haters. I'll stand up for myself, and the club, but, love and tolerance is a motto of the club, and fighting back, even though it won't be physical, isn't setting a good example.

I really want to have this club, but I have no idea who will show up, and what the purpose would be. I want to spread joy, around the campus, and make people believe that they will be treated with dignity, and respect. But, as I said before, I don't want it to just be a hang out spot of sorts.

Is your club suppose to be about MLP or TLC? Since it sounds like TLC and not MLP(my suggestion below for ideas are based on that). I would recommend talking to other presidents of clubs to help get you knowledge about what resources the schools provide clubs. It also is important to find a good VP , possibly one to attend the meetings in your place.(the senate ones)

TLC sounds like it's be a charity type club to me . You know trying to run fundraisers and such to earn money for good causes. Or doing things like volunteering for soup kitchens , that type thing. You could also do culture type related events to celebrate different cultures ( such as chinese new year ). I"m sure there's a lot of good local and big causes around where you live. There's also different cultural/society awareness type movies/shows out there that you could show during club meetings. Just an example there's a three part series on youtube called " Truth about Disabilities" which talks about life for people with disabilities from their perspective. Another idea is every month you could try to raise money/awareness about something. Like for example Feb. is Visual impairment awareness month so you could do some activity where you have to be like blindfolded or something or like september is child cancer month so you could collect stuffed animals for kids in hospitals or something.

The best way to get people to come to meetings is to properly and throughly advertise meetings as much as your school allows. It might take a bit for people to start to come to your club but you shouldn't give up . Also try to figure out when a good time for a meeting is for a lot of people. Put up your email address in flyers so people can communicate with you. (maybe they can help with an event but can't come at meeting times type thing)

It's mostly TLC, but it's based on the ideas of MLP. It's just difficult for me to go up to someone that I don't know and ask them to be a VP for a club like this.

Your ideas are appealing. Today is the first day of March, and I'm wondering what that month is awareness for.

TLC seriously? You're just asking for it:

Never has a scene from the show been easier to use. I'm sorry I don't have any actual advice to give, but good luck with your club.

Are you saying it's a bad idea? I don't care if people pick on me because of my bronyism. I'm just looking to spread happiness and peace, and serenity, around.

No, I didn't mean that at all, I think it's a wonderful idea. I just thought it was the perfect opportunity to use this clip since the acronym for your club was identical.

Wait to pick a VP who shows up for club ,often. I just googled March awareness and I found this helpful calander: http://www.pcihealth.edu/education/Health_Awareness_Calendar.htm

It helps if you allow the members who do show up to help you pick events and such.

Coming from someone else who is organizing a club, I say you shouldn't worry about it and just openly call it a Brony club. Well, actually it depends on the atmosphere that your campus has. Given the "culture" in your campus, do you think you'll need to worry about much hate? Is it an either accepting or indifferent campus? If so, I don't think you have much to worry about. But your mileage may vary, that's just my experience.

Here's what I did to spread the word:

- Put up a bunch of tear-tab flyers that I got from hawkflame. On the top it says "Need some friendship? Take a brohoof." With a picture of Rainbow Dash brohoofing Applejack. On each tab (12 tabs total, the Mane 6 twice), is a little picture of one of the Mane 6 tossing out a brohoof, with a link to a Facebook page on the back.

- Start a Facebook page or group.

- Wait for takers.

- Once everyone is organized online an IRL meeting somewhere on campus can be arranged.

That's what I got so far. I put the flyers (7 so far, I'll be putting up more when I get back from Spring Break) up two days ago, and people are already leaving for break, so I'm not sure how much activity I'll have until the week after next, but hooves crossed.

Your idea is best idea. I don't know if I could rename the club "Brony Club" though. I may need to write a brand new constitution for that. If you could send me a link to these pictures, it'd be awesome.

It's not that I think it'll have hate. I just think that the prospect of a club like this, is inferior to people who have interests; movie, anime, guitar, dance club.

Message me your email address and I can send you the original document.

What do you mean? Do you think there's not enough pony fans on campus to make it viable as its own club?

I wish i could join a club, but my high school *that i can go to* is mainly those stereotypical Yolo and Swag morons.

I'm home-schooled because i had spine surgery last year and is too afraid to go to public school *i dont want to hurt myself*.

If i did go to public school, id probably just get laughed at for wearing my Derpy jacket. I know there are a few bronies there, but i don't think it will be possible to find them. Since every brony gets picked on..

Pretty much. I could bet of the pony fans that I do have at my campus, ninety percent of them would be closet ones.

I'll PM you though.
