Discord opened his mouth to speak when Chrysalis turned towards them and interrupted.  "Actually, I could use a bit of rest before we actually begin.  And after that I may need a snack.  But then, of course, we can go," Chrysalis smiled.

"What a little princess," Discord said, raising an eyebrow.  "Speaking of princesses, where are those two pony princesses?  Still out shooting changelings?"

Chrysalis jumped up.  "Buck.  I gotta get them out of here."

Suddenly, a dark shadow streaked across the whole area and Chrysalis calmed down, laughing to herself as she said.  "But then again, they deserve it."

Discord laughed along with her until the shadow had gone and the area was bright again.  Discord stopped and looked at Chrysalis who looked back at him, equally confused.

"The hatred is spreading," Celestia whispered, appearing behind them.

Shade looked outside and was confused... "Um... What ever..."... Shade was starting to get impatient with all that was going on. Plus, she didn't want to work with chrysalis. "You know what... Do what you want chrysalis, I'm going ahead." She said before teleporting her and midnight to the crystal empire.

 

She ended up in a guest bedroom. She looked around, "where should we start looking?" She asked.

Chrysalis spun towards Celestia, ignoring Shade as she disappeared.  Celestia though, blinked at the empty space before turning to Chrysalis.

"Did you stop?!" Chrysalis demanded.

"Er...yes.  We did.  But the hatred is spreading.  The shadows are beginning to come.  If it starts to keep coming the whole of Equestria will be filled with hatred by the end of the week."

"The end of the week?" Discord repeated.  "Chrysie, you can't rest I'm afraid.  Something must be done."

Celestia blinked at him.  "Yes...Discord is...right...somehow..."

Midnight glanced around.  "Maybe...maybe...where we find lots of creepy stuffs?" Midnight suggested.

Shade smiled and walked towards a door on the other side of the hallway. She opened it and saw that it was a storage room. "I guess a storage room is creepy but I don't think the crystal hart would be in here." She said looking around at all the stored stuff. Then she saw a mirror, she looked at herself in the mirror and admired herself. Then she looked closely at it, "hey midnight, dose this mirror seem odd to you?" She asked.

Villan blinked with only somewhat of an idea on what was going on.

Chrysalis sighed and smiled tightly up at Discord.  "Wonderful.  So whats your plan then, hmm?"

"Uh..."

"I didn't think so.  You haven't got a plan.  Your plan lead up to where it included me helping you and then it ended."

"Well then we'll just all move against him as one!" Discord growled.  "There doesn't have to be a plan!  We'll just...I'll discord him or something..."

"He'd see that from a mile away.  Anypony would.  Don't you do anything else?"

Celestia sighed.  Great.  I used to have one, now I've got two.

Midnight blinked at the mirror and tilted his head to the side, narrowing his eyes at him.  "Its kind of creepy, but I don't know why," he said.

Shade looked back at midnight and then back at the mirror. She reached her hoof out to tap it. when she did, it was almost like her hoof went through the mirror. "What?... Yes... That's creepy. I think it's a portal of some kind, maybe, just maybe... Sombra hid the hart in this mirror somewhere" she looked back at midnight "I think it worth a shot, looking in here." She got ready to walk inside the mirror, "follow me midnight and stay close, who knows what tricks could be in here." She said entering the mirror.

Midnight nodded quickly and watched her go through.  He took a deep breath and then ran in after her, not completely trusting the safety of any of this.

"Well then!  We'll do what you did!  We'll go straight in like complete foals and see what happens!"

"It worked, didn't it?!"

"What?!  Does it look like it worked?"

"Yes.  It does."

Shade felt she was being stretched as she was going through the portal mirror... Then it stopped and she was on the ground. She pushed herself off the ground then looked at her surroundings. She then saw a creature beside her that strangely looked like midnight. Then she looked down at her hooves... Err... Hands... "What the hay? What is... What am I? What is this world?" She asked herself. "Midnight, is that you?" She asked.

Midnight stared at her for a long moment before screaming and pushing himself away from her.  He screamed out for Shade.  This...thing in front of him looked like her but...he wasn't completely sure. 

As he pushed himself away from her, he noticed his hooves were no longer hooves.  They looked more like those things Discord had.  Midnight stared at them and screamed again.  He looked down at himself, afraid what he would see.

Shade grabed midnight and covered his mouth to keep him from screaming. "Midnight! It's me... Shade!" She tried to calm him down. "I don't know where we are, or what we are, but I can sure tell you that we're not in equestria anymore. And I don't think this is one of sombra's tricks... It looks too... Um... Real." She said.

Midnight stared at her for a moment and then nodded.  It sounded like Shade as well and you else would it be?  He glanced around at the world around him.  It didn't look like home like she said.  It looked somehow...different.  He looked back at his hands and fluttered his fingers, confused.

"I look like Discord," he said, a bit sadly.  Because in a way, he supposed he sort of did.

Shade looked at a local who was passing by, "well, guess we are two legged for now..." She stood up on her 2... Legs and wobbled a bit. She looks at herself standing up, then back at midnight. "I wonder if celestia or your mother know about this place, maybe cadences did... How are we going to tell them where we are?" She looks back at the statue behind her and sticks her hand through it, then pulled it out. "So that's our way out of this place. Anyways... Where should we start looking for this hart?" She asked.

Villan slowly backed away from discord and chrysalis, he stood beside celestia. "Are they always like that?" He asked.

"I don't know," he said, in reply to her question of how to get the news to his mother of where they were.  He wobbled up onto his two legs, following her example.  "Maybe the heart is in a...uh...a...let's try there!" he said, randomly pointing the the large building before them which some of the...things were going into.

Celestia watched them arguing, her mouth a straight line of neutrality.  She looked down at Villan with her eyes, her head not moving.  "I don't know about Chrysalis, but I certainly know about Discord.  And yes.  He is always.  Like this," she said.  She stepped forward and stomped her hoof down loudly, cutting them off.  They looked at her.

"Hey!" Celestia said.  "Stop arguing, it is getting us no where."

"No...it usually gets us somewhere eventually," Discord said quietly.

"We need to think of a plan and we need to do it quietly.  Where we actually use our brains."

"Yes, Discord," Chrysalis mumbled.  "A brain is used.  To think.  Do you know how that work?  Thinking?  I'm not sure if it can be taught but I can try to help you out."

"Kindly shut up," Discord mumbled back, his eyes not leaving Celestia as he did.  But Celestia still noticed them continuing to argue.

shade noded and started towards the big building, she walked aquwardly but hoped to not make a fool of herself. she got to the building and opened the door, when she walked into the building, she saw hundreds of other... creatures... she really felt intimidated by all this that was happening.

villan blinked and sat back down to watch the argument.

Midnight went stumbling after her into the building.  And as he glanced around he sucked in a deep breath and held it.  That's what his mother told him to do if he was ever afraid or upset.  She said it would help to calm him down.

It worked a bit...

Celestia raised an eyebrow at Discord, raising her head like a true princess.  Even then, she couldn't look down at him.  "Discord.  Do not tell Chrysalis to 'shut up'.  In my castle, we will not use such language."

Discord gave her a funny look.  "What?  What's so bad about---"

"Be quiet, Discord."

"Be quiet...?  Really?" he said as Chrysalis snickered.

"Be.  Quiet.  You as well, Chrysalis."

"You can't tell me what to do," Discord said childishly.

"Yes I can.  I'm the princess.  You are no longer a king."

"I'm a queen," Chrysalis said.

"But whose castle are you in, Queen Chrysalis?  Mine.  Yes, good answer."

"I didn't---" Chrysalis started.

"I'm older then you.  And stronger," Discord said.

"I have a secret weapon," Celestia said, looking up at him.  "So be quiet."

"A secret weapon?  And here I thought that I was your secret weapon.  But honestly, what is your 'secret weapon', my dear Celestia?"

Celestia smiled.

Shade walked slowly into the hoard or creatures, she studied them and watched different actions they did. Eventually the halls cleared up and only a few of the creatures where left in the halls. Shade looked at a bunch of pictures on the walls, some red and yellow haired girl with some crown on her head, followed by another picture, a purple girl that strangely looked like twilight sparkle. The crown on her head even looked like the element of magic. Shade was having trouble breathing, she sat down. "Where are we? What is this place? Where is the crystal hart?" She said in a troubled state.

Villan continued to blink, watching the argument escalate, he really felt like he should do something. Then he thought, *maybe this is the hatred magic causing all of this.* he thought.

He stepped forward and... "ENOUGH" he yelled in a loud echoey voice. "All of you are arguing over nothing. We should be taking the fight to whatever is causing this black magic to spread all over equestria." He said trying to get them to cooperate.

Midnight sat down beside her, practically falling down, not knowing how else to get into the sitting position.  He frowned at her and then nudged her with the top of his head, not realizing that the creature they were know simply didn't do that.

"Don't worry, we'll find it!" he said.

Then he blinked and looked up to see a poster on a board on the wall across from them.  It was a flier for an university.  And the building in the picture strangely resembled the way the crystal kingdom's buildings looked.

"What's that?" he asked, pointing at it.

Celestia jumped back, startled by the sudden yell of the pony.  Discord and Chrysalis turned to glare at Villan. 

"Why should we listen to anything you have to say?" Chrysalis growled.  "You keep trying to make us believe your on our side and then you turn around and we find you on the other side."

"We?" Discord mumbled.

"For all we know, you're on your own side."

Shade walked over to the flier and read it. "Attend the crystal fare held at crystal university... Games... Food... Stuff... Fashion contest...... This sound like the crystal fair that goes on in equestria, I guess it's worth checking out." She said getting up on her two legs.

Villan glaired right back at chrysalis, "yes... I play on my side, just like how you play on your side. But right now, I'm on equestria's side and we need to stop what's happening, like shade already left to tackle the crystal empire on her own... Shouldent we be helping her?" He said.

Midnight got up and stumbled over to her.  "Yes!  We should go!" he said excitedly, thinking that this was the perfect place to search.  "When is it?  When?"

"Oh, sure you are!  Sure we should!  But when you say we, does that include you, or will you run off and---"

"Discord," Celestia whispered, stepping up beside him.

"Hm?" he mumbled, watching the argument taking place in front of him, amused and obviously enjoying it.

"I'll only ever ask you once.  But please, shut her up."

"I thought you said not to use such language."

"Come on, Discord, just do this."

Discord grinned at her and turned to Chrysalis, who was still yammering on and on.  He reached out his lion paw and eagle talon and scooped her up from the tiled floor.

"Hey!" Chrysalis growled.  "Put m---"

Discord clamped his paw over her mouth, effectively cutting her off.  He smiled at Villan.  "You're right!  Let's go help Shade!"  Suddenly, Discord saw a dark blue hoof swipe down and dodged before it hit Chrysalis.  Chrysalis, Discord, and Celestia looked at Luna.

"Where's Midnight?!" Luna growled.

Discord sighed.

"Shade is with him, I believe," Celestia said.  "They went off to the Crystal Empire.  We're going to go help them now.  But Luna, somepony has to stay here and protect Canterlot in case something happens.  You'll have to stay here."

"But sister!  Midnight---"

"No.  You have to stay."

"It's tomorrow, so I guess we have a whole day to figure out where the crystal emp- I mean university is." She said starting to look for a map or something. She entered the library and started to look for some information. After digging in a pile of books, she found a map book and got the location of the university; It wasn't very far. Shade held midnight close to her, "ok let's get there!" She said closing her eyes and teleporting to the location. When she opened her eyes, she was still in the library. So she kept trying to teleport, but it wasn't working. "What? I can't teleport?" She questioned. She sighed, "guess we gotta get there by walking" she said.

Villan noded and got ready to be teleported.

Midnight looked up at her and nodded.  "You don't have your horn!" he said, patting her on the head.  "Wait?  Do I have my horn?" he asked, confused, touching his head.  "We have to waaaaalk?!" he whined.

"But---"

"Luna!" Celestia growled.  "No!"

And then she was gone, having teleported to the Crystal Kingdom.  Discord stared at Luna, who had her head lowered to hide her tears for a long moment before sighing.  He produced cotton candy, filled with chocolate milk and hoofed it to Luna before teleporting himself and Chrysalis to the Crystal Kingdom.

Shade looked at midnight, "I can use my magic even when my horn isn't showing..." She said. She tried to change into her changeling forum, she looked behind her, "no wings... No horn... Not a changeling... For buck sakes... WHAT CAN WE DO?...... Guess we're going to walk over to the crystal emp-... University...... I'm not going to get use to saying that, an I?" She said.

"Well... We better get started... Come on midnight." She said taking his hand and started walking out of the high school.

Villan blinked as celestia, discord, and chrysalis teleported away. "WAIT! You forgot me!!!" He yelled. "My magic isn't good enough to teleport a long way alone." He said a little annoyed. He looked at Luna and walked up to her, "don't worry about your son, I'm sure shade is taking good care of him... If it helps, il come back here and update you on how he and shade are doing." He said. He backed up and attempted to teleport to the crystal empire alone. Once he unleashed his magic, he teleported.

When he looked around he was in the crystal empire... Ontop of discord. "I'm not so good with teleportation" he said backing away.

Midnight followed her, keeping his hand in hers.  "I like these...things," he said, looking at his hand.  "Is it very far?" he asked, frowning, before realizing that around him was plenty to see.  Just like when he had taken walks back at home.

"Okay," Luna whispered as Villan disappeared.  She stared at the floor where he had been and then turned her gaze to stare at the cotton candy in her hooves.  She sighed, carrying it out of the room with tears in her eyes.

Discord gasped as the changeling fell on top of him, seeming to have come from nowhere.  He knew he had teleported.  He made a face at Villan and opened his mouth to say something when Celestia spoke up. 

"We have to find out where they went.  We could find clues, guess, or waste magic to do so.  And we can either stick together or split up."

Shade continued to walk holding midnights hand. The bell of the high school rung and a bunch of the creatures started to exit the building... Soon, shade was surrounded by the creatures again. She looked around and saw a big group of the creatures standing at a pole that said bus stop. "Bus stop? Like train stop? Maybe one of them go to the crystal university." She said walking towards the bus stop.

Villan looked around, "maybe we should start with the castle" he suggested.

Midnight nodded, following after her.  "Yeah!  They look like their waiting for something, like when ponies wait for the train," he agreed, staying close to her, slightly afraid of the other creatures.

Celestia shrugged and nodded.  "Its a guess then," she said, turning to the castle.
