RP Thread Not Open Yet...




My first roleplay that I myself has created! Here is the current WIP of the RP. Feedback is welcome!!!

This roleplay is based mostly off of the PS2 game Airforce Delta Strike. The roleplay here will be based on ponies, but will be using aircraft to allow non-pegasus ponies to partake in the air conflict. Much like the game, the campaign will be divided into stages, and it is up to the players (for the sake of fun factor) to determine the outcome of the conflict (the outcome is not really under my complete control, rather, it's up to you guys to win the war). I'll be keeping tabs on the war effort in the "war room" in this post once the RP starts.

In the year 2014, the Equestrian Space Administration, alongside multiple other nations, agree to a joint colonization effort of space as a pre-emptive measure to avert overpopulation. As technology and science advance, the colonies in space become more self-sufficient, and eventually become recognized as a nation, the OCC (Orbital Citizen's Community). However, as the OCC begins mobilizing their military, the nations of Earth form, as a precaution, the EDAF (Earth Defense Allied Forces), and try to sign an arms limitation treaty with the OCC. Such measures prove unsuccessful, as the OCC continues to develop advanced weaponry. A Cold War ensues between the two factions, and in 2025, the OCC plans a mass assault on the EDAF, beginning with attacks on strategic space stations belonging to the EDAF. The OCC, with its incredible weaponry, manage to take over much of the Earth and align many nations of Earth towards the OCC. With the EDAF fighting back with all their might, found themselves shorthanded at times. As a result, numerous mercenary units were incorporated into the military in an attempt to prevent the OCC from outnumbering the EDAF. However, many question how the OCC was able to develop such technologies in such a short time...




Rules of RP
  • Ponies can be either Mane 6 or OC, it doesn't really matter.
  • As a DM, I will both be controlling the war (of course, depending on the actions of the players), and providing information in character (as the top brass) in the RP thread.
  • While this RP is based on war, when not fighting (between missions, leave, etc), you'll have downtime for recreation or whatever. You can talk with other ponies, hit up a bar, go to town, etc.
  • Shipping is allowed, but that is not really the focus of this RP. Homosexual shipping is fine by me.
  • Please do not make any sort of Mary Sue character, as this is very annoying for most players. If all hope is lost, just use a Mane 6 character or something.



Right now, we need the following characters:
Squadron/Flight Leaders- overall, this character devises much of the strategies for use in the war, as well as participates in the combat. The squadron leader, for the sake of fairness, will rotate each phase, so be sure to check the War Room in this post! It's a large responsibility, as much of the war rides on his or her decisions. The pilots in the squadron rely on the flight leader. Without the flight leader, it would be much more difficult to coordinate attacks. Of course, pilots on a mission can deviate from a plan if he or she feels that his or her idea will work better. For example, the leader orders an attack on the refinery, when a lone wolf pilot decides to attack the nearby airfield instead to limit the air power in the area. In other words, I'm trying to design the RP to be as open ended as possible, and the most fun to the player.

Pilots- there will be three squadrons, with two pilots (not including the sqaud leader) each. These pilots carry out the mission, but can deviate from the plan a bit if they feel their deviation is good to the war effort (see the example in boldface in the above paragraph). Be careful, though! If your deviation ends up screwing the EDAF over, there will definitely be hell to pay!



Info about the RP:

The RP is not about how well you can survive in combat like any old war video game, as that's hard to do in an RP. Instead, it'll be strategy based, involving the flight lead to determine what things are and aren't important to the war effort.

After the end of each phase (about 8 flights, suggestions are welcome!) the campaign will move to the next phase, with new missions and targets that are dependent on the performance of the last phase. The good ending is (obviously) if you manage to destroy the OCC, the bad ending is obviously the opposite.

Mind you, this is my first roleplay, so if anyone wants to add anything or change anything, suggestions are welcome!



Registered players- enter a profile for your OC (basic info like age, sex, etc) and a callsign (preferably not anything like "Merlin" or "Maverick" or "Iceman" :P)
