Throwaway19573639385 764 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 I have no idea what I'm doing, but it seems to work out quite well, especially for a first time. Shading digitally sure has a strange feeling though, nothing like shading IRL. I hope I'll get better quickly, I can't wait to draw more serious stuff ^^ I feel the shading on her face should be a bit more brough out to the front, but I don't know >.< , every time I try to I just end up with a huge mess of colors. Any thoughts?
Azura 1,107 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 The drawing itself is pretty decent, though the hair looks weird since its behind the pony instead of covering a bit of its forehead. The shading could've been better and the colors are a bit solid, but since its your first time I guess it's not that bad. Since I'm completely unknown to drawing ponies both traditionally and digitally, I don't think I'm the best pony to be giving you advice. And if you're wondering if I drew the pony in my avatar/signature, yes, yes I did. :3 2 My Signature Shop!-=-=-=-=-Art Collection!-=-=-=-=-A Signature Tutorial! Also known as "Cloud Chaser". A question though, what would've you done with the shading? I'm completely clueless when it comes to shadows and shading so I'm always interested in what others would've done differently with the shading. And that OC is awesome btw, I love the colours!
dedacct6 2,591 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 hey, the shading isnt half bad, though it depends on where the light is comeing from, and the ammount of light in the drawing. anyways nice job
Princess Periwinkle 3,775 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 "Twilight please make this song end, we're a bunch of floating heads!"But besides that, I like the style! This sort of shading makes me think you'd do really good sunset drawings.

I decided to give shading another go but it didn't turn out that great. I decided to give your pony a mane. This is not the proper way to shade something, so don't do what I do, especially when you're new to digital drawing. 1 My Signature Shop!-=-=-=-=-Art Collection!-=-=-=-=-A Signature Tutorial!
