writing some free verse poetry (old work of mine)

So back before I became a pony I wrote a bunch of different free verse poems and stories, mostly deep emotional stuff, and I thought: hey why not share it with everypony here.

 

Well whether or not you enjoy it is really up to you heh I'm just glad I can share it

 

and without further delay:

 

Title: Departing

Warning: Sadness

 

Why do you look at me with that face?
That face that screams of pain and sorrow.

What happened to cause you such pain,
was it the fact that I left you behind?

was it the fact that we couldn't,
spend the rest of our lives together?

If so then I am sorry but I never meant to leave you,
if I could I would stay by your side for all eternity

but i'm afraid my time on this earth is now over,
and I must leave you but i'll always remember you.

and as long as you remember our love I'll always be by your side.

Title: How Life is seen by some

look at me, my soul and my heart. what is it that you see when you look at them? when you look at me, do you see an average normal person?
or do you see more than that?

When you look deeper, when you look at my soul, do you see the emotions that I feel? When you look at my heart what do you see? what color is it? is it white like the driven snow or black as coal? or is it a simple primal red dating back thousands of years.

You see none of this because your mind is to focused on my outward appearance. you could care less if I was a collage graduate if I didn't look the part. Why is everyone so focused on appearances instead of what's inside?

When I look at you I look passed your appearance and I look towards your heart and soul, I try and find the real you that hides behind the false shell of security. but you push me away before I can find the true you. Do you know why you do this?

No?

Shall I tell you the reason why you hide your true self behind a false shell of security?

Yes?

Very well, you see the reason why you and some many others hide behind a false shell of security is because you believe that once someone knows the true you, you'll be unprotected from them. you begin to feel insecure and vurnable. the truth is your sscared to let anyone truly in, into your shell, into your life.

But by pushing people away your only making your life more misreable, no one can truly be happy alone.

I'm no poetry expert, nor know much about the subject in general, but I do know when I've read something that came from the heart.

 

The first one of the two hit me especially hard (I'm a very emotional pony.). As I read it the first time, I envisioned myself and my special somepony, and by line 8, I already could feel my heart begin to hurt a bit. Once I hit the ninth line, I felt crushed by the weight of what I was reading, and shed a tear. 

 

Having nearly very lost loved ones hurts enough, I couldn't imagine what actually it would actually feel like, for me, Departing evokes a taste of that emotion.

Well first I want to thank the pony above for his comment, it makes ne feel great knowing that someone felt the emotion put into my work , i truly enjoy writing and I put ever amount of emotion that I can into my work and thats why I am going to share more of my work with you

Title: What will the future bring

Warning: N/A

I travel the world to see how mankind has faired over the years,
and during my travels what is it that i have seen?

I have seen mankind turn it's back on one another,
I have seen them shed blood needlessly.

But during my travels I have also seen acts of kindness,
towards those that are less fortunate then most.

And it is these acts of kindness that gives me hope,
hope that mankind will one day be rid of needless blood shed and hatred.

But even with this hope in the end,
only time will reveal the result.

Title: Survivor

I rest here atop this roof,
listening to the moans of the undead.
 
You can hear their moans day and night through out the city,
and the screams of those that could not get away also fill the air.

As I rest here on this roof I look down at the streets below,
and I wonder if there are any more survivours.

I do hope you have enjoyed todays upload, I also hope that to those that have read Final Thoughts that you were not disappointed by it or offended. I will post more for those that wish it but sadly some of what I have written falls under a Horror genre of writing and I do not wish to disturb or offended anyone. So I implore you to leave your comments on whether or not I should continue to post more.
