Suggestion: Reply to post via PM

I would like to suggest adding a feature so that you can reply to a post via private message. Sometimes I don't want to clog up a thread with a back-and-forth conversation that I doubt other people are really that interested in.

 

This came up when I wanted to ask someone for sources, but doing so would have been off-topic for the thread itself. I know it's possible to simply PM a person, but having the post I'm referring to auto-quoted for that PM would have been nice.

If you simply highlight the person's post and click "quote," it'll give you the code to quote them. 

 

Then you can just copy and paste the code into PM.

As I said: 'it would be nice'. I'm not saying the work-around is that onerous, just that would be nice to have a button right next to the 'Blog This' button that has similar functionality.

 

At least, that's what I assume the 'Blog This' link does. I've not tried it...

A lot of things "would be nice" to have on the forums. However, certain things are just not worth taking the time to add. 

 

I don't think it would be worth it, as the action only takes a handful of seconds to begin with.

I feel like the new Zoop with the conservative approach, but I'm inclined to agree with Sugar Plum. With our technical advancement forces being shot, and those individuals left busy working on maintaining the site and developing Poniverse's branches, we don't really have the luxury of making minor convenience changes, when natural workarounds work just fine as it is. Not that this is a bad suggestion, or that it's not worth bringing up. It's simply that, it, and suggestions similar to it are probably not going to happen anytime soon, simply because we're forced to focus our priorities sternly right now :3
