Yesterday, and Today

I... what happened? The first one I drew last night. There were soooo many things wrong with it, specifically the legs. And the second one I drew today. AND IT'S SO MUCH BETTER! Aside from the coloring, I think it is a million times better. If you want to critique, that's fine by me. (In the second pic it was my first time drawing open wings, so tell me what you think! And also, his coat is yellow, but it doesn't look that with the lighting I had :))

It's certainly an improvement. The improvement is mostly in the shape of the torso and the head. However, the proportions are still wonky. The legs are the most notable example, unless he is supposed to be really lanky. Secondly, the chest is a bit too big in comparison to the head. Granted, he is a stallion, but even in that case the head and chest should be roughly equal, rather than the head notably smaller. Finally, the wing(s). A little too high, the base of it should be where the shoulder-blades would be.

But, I repeat, still a notable improvement.

Just comes with practice I guess! My first pony drawing looked about the same as yours. It just goes to show that with a bit of patience and practice, you can get better at things!

I do see everything you mentioned, and yes he is supposed to be a bit lanky. The chest size would make sense to thin out a bit, but could you explain what you said about the wings? It might just be me being oblivious, but I don't understand what you mean :P Thanks for the critique!

@WingedRatchet

Thanks! :) The thing is... I didn't draw anything at all in the time between those two pics! I thought it was so weird! Of course, I was using a reference for the second one, but I didn't think it would be that much of a change! :P
