Photoshop CS3

So, I have come into posession of Photoshop CS3, as you may have gathered by the topic title-and have absolutely no idea how to use it.

 

Now-it cost the same as paint.net would have, so if it turns out not to be much use I'll just dump it-however i'd like to start doing stuff like sigs and avatars, and eventually maybe segway into some more advanced stuff-I just don't know how to begin.

 

I should point out to any potential kind tutors however that I had dyslexia as a kid, and as a result of that and other things we won't get into I have a hard time grasping stuff sometimes-so please be patient with an old man, and realise that-although most of you grew up with computers, I remember when the first VCRs came out-and they were only players then-not recorders-I.E I'm really old. I mean Really old.

 

Any help you creative geniuses could offer would be greatly appreciated-including whether or not I should dump the program and get something different
