What do you think of this character I made?

I've made this character, Prince Pedro, as one of my OC's adopted dog brothers. Here is the profile:

I just want to know; What do you think of this character? Is it good or does it need a few developments?

The first thing I noticed is that he's upside down. The second thing I noticed is that he looks like a chihuahua rather than a German Shepherd.

 

With RE to the character description.... I'm no expert at this but, there are no talking dogs or animals in the show other than the ponies themselves and Spike. So he doesn't really fit the show in that respect. I suppose in some RP'S skies the limit and he would work out.

 

BTW I have a dog named Padro, he's a toy poodle and very shy and nervous so not like your Pedro.

Sorry I took the picture upside down, damn ipad!  Btw Pedro is actually still a pup, he is a teen in human years, but he hasn't aged. but besides that thanks for your opinion.

 

P.s. whats an RP and whats a RE?

RP = role play and RE = Regarding. 

 

Two year old dogs would be considered teens in human years and would be fully grown by then. I think he's cutely drawn and all but just didn't fit the description. but as long as you like him and are happy that's what matters.

Talking dog of a Mary Sue. I don't know where this went wrong.

Okay, the Mary Sue part really irks me, but I'll try to focus on this... OC of yours.

Like Mikestar said, he does not fit the description at all. He should probably be about the height of his sister, considering he is a pony-dog. He seems little too "cute" for his description. I would add a scar or two, and give him a more masculine look.

The fact that he is royalty makes no sense at all. If anything, he should be a royal pet. He doesn't fit with the royal family at all... He also is adopted, meaning there is no royal blood in him. In this case, he shouldn't be royalty.

I wouldn't use this character in a roleplay without some major changes.

First of all, Pedro is not TECHNICALLY a prince, I know that. He thinks that he's a prince, when logically he isn't. This is just an inside joke like Trixie calls herself Great and Powerful rather than Trixie. Secondly, I will make him more masculine, I agree. Thirdly, he is logical a royal pet, but since my OC has Asperger's syndrome and Pedro talks, my OC calls him a brother because they share a close relationship and they both act like brother and sister rather than master and pet. I hope that cleared things.

 

The whole 'adopted brother' thing is just my OC, Harmony Star's and Pedro's relationship. They act like siblings because since he can talk like a normal person and he is adopted by Harmony because she was a filly when she adopted him and they may be different species but they can be siblings if they want to.

@, talking animals... dragons, griffins, I will say that the idea of talking dog is creative, even though the back story is kinda mainstream. You know... transformation and stuff. I would like it more if he came from an intelligent dog tribe (like the diamond dogs) somewhere in Equestria.

 

For personalities, I see many possibilities of interesting events to happen between him and Spike.

 

About role playing, don't be too worried about it. It's just a game, for fun, not something which is... strict and "I don't like it, so get out." I don't think you made those characters for RP use, so I won't say things like @Glaceon did. Making OC is for fun. Role playing is for fun. Fan fiction writing is for fun. They're not activities where you need to limit your creativity by those things so-called standard.

And Celestia damn it! I can't draw. I can draw ponies a little, but I haven't tried dogs. I would draw him if I had the skills.

Thanks. I found that word somewhere and I thought it sounded nice as a name of a princess, and since I don't have any princess OC and I really love your design, I will give it to you.

Well, a hoodie is a new thing for me. I've never drawn clothes before, but it's worth to try. Dubstep is that kind of fast dum dum-ing music right? Sorry, I'm an old-fashioned man.
