Commander Bubbles 1,343 July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 Finally decided to doing a custom diecast paint job for my old 2005 era Dale Jr. diecast, and figured I'd do a pony one this time around. It's currently a work in progress however. I'm intending the final product to look something like this (final product may vary): ARCA 2013-06-30 21-55-24-78.bmp ARCA 2013-06-30 21-55-28-84.bmp ARCA 2013-06-30 21-55-33-60.bmp If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, let me know! 2 Gotta learn stuff through denial and error. Chevette 1,052 July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 (edited) Pretty radical idea, man. I enjoy some NASCAR myself and it's always groovy to see others that want to combine ponies and NASCAR together. It seems like you got a good idea of what to do there, it looks like you put a good orange coat of paint on that puppy, although the pictures are rather fuzzy. I don't do much painting myself and nor have I ever done what you are doing either. Before you painted the metal diecast vehicle, did you use some no-sand or paint thinner to strip off the prior paint, or does it generally not matter with models? I kinda wish you were doing this for Rainbow Dash, then I could defiantly give some suggestions on what to paint on the vehicle. The closest thing I do to this is designing vehicles on Forza Motorsport 4. Said designs look something like this: I painted that on Forza originally for this 87' Trans Am all with shapes (even the Rainbow Dash on the hood) it is also very time consuming. Unfortunately, I never designed a Applejack car, but numerous Rainbow Dash cars instead. I guess my only advice for the paint scheme itself is to get something fairly simple, but flowing and sharp. The more vibrant and sharp the paint scheme looks, the better it will contrast with the vehicle's base color. Lookin' good though buddy, keep on keepin' on.
