Unanswered questions I asked myself during the movie

I liked the movie but I noticed 30 things I questioned about do you have any answers to them

 

1.) How did Sunset Shimmer know the crystal empire's castle layout or how she knew Twilight was even gonna be there to begin with the crystal empire only showed up recently

 

2.) When did the Element of Magic change its shape

 

3.) Why wasn't the mirror guarded if Celestia knew it lead to another world

 

4.) Sunset Shimmer plan steal crown leave only to come right back?

 

5.) Why do the mirror connect to a statue and not another mirrior

 

6.) Why is the mane 6 of that world in Canterlot and not a humanized Ponyville

 

7.)  How can Human Rainbow Dash be the Captian of every sports team that wouldn't give her much time to herself

 

8.)  What was Sunset Shimmer's theory on what Happens to an Element of Harmony that goes in another world 

 

9.) Snips and Snails clearly thought Sunset Shimmer was crazy when she mentioned Equestria yet they still willingly worked for her and why were they working for her to begin with

 

10.) Why was Twilight certain about Rainbow Dash in the photo but not Rarity when she didn't meet both of them 

 

11.) Spike saying making a list is unlike Twilight when she has a habit of making checklist 

 

12.) How did snips and sails know when to record on there phones you can hear it start before each moment Twilight had in the Library 

 

13.) Why did Rarity complain about Fluttershy,  Fluttershy was never accused of doing something 

 

14.) If the Elements of Harmony don't exist in that world why did Sunset Shimmer cause them to fight

 

15.) Why did Sunset Shimmer go near the soccer field did she know Twilight was gonna be there

 

16.) Wondercolts why not Wonderbolts 

 

17.) musical number = vote for Twilight.  They other students didn't even know her 3 days earlier.

 

18.) The photo evidence why not just edit it digitally for no physical evidence

 

19.) Spike line" just tell them your a pony princess from Equestria" yeah that wont make her sound insane at all

 

20.) Why was Sunset Shimmer hiding in the Equipment closet 

 

21.) If she wanted the fall formal to happen the whole time why didn't she help fix the place up

 

22.) Why are snips and snails not surprised about the mention of Equestia when earlier the didn't believe it at all

 

23.) Bad threat the hammer would have gone through the portal

 

24.) magic Element + non Element bearer = demon like Sunset Shimmer

 

25.) If she has mind control why not control the Mane 6

 

26.) Deau ex magic moment/ sailor moon Transformations scene

#1 Because she wanted to plan this event... Thieves don't usually just barge into a bank without planning.

#2 I don't think it did.

#4 She needed an army of brainwashed humans.

#7 Personal preference. Some people want to use most of their time playing sports.

#9 Possibly bribes, or they are just the guys who want to work for the bully rather than get bullied

And as for all the questions regarding Sunset Shimmer's weird decisions, lets just say she isn't that smart. Most bullies aren't, anyway.

 

But, seriously, you are questioning this movie too much. It seems like you couldn't really enjoy the movie that much if you were questioning everything that happens.

Actually I wanted to do a online review of this movie in a Nogistia Critic style but i couldn't find a download of the movie to do that so I wanted to check if my question had answer i may have overlooked

1.) How did Sunset Shimmer know the crystal empire's castle layout or how she knew Twilight was even gonna be there to begin with the crystal empire only showed up recently

 

-Good question that goes even deeper. Depending on how long 30 moons actually is, how did Sunset Shimmer know that Twilight's crown *was* the Element of Magic? Or even that the Elements of Harmony had been found?

 

2.) When did the Element of Magic change its shape

 

- The only real change seems to be the band now goes over the ears instead of in front of them. Otherwise the decorative swirls and star are identical. That modification seems to be more just to make the animation easier during the human scenes.

 

3.) Why wasn't the mirror guarded if Celestia knew it lead to another world

 

- Good question.

 

4.) Sunset Shimmer plan steal crown leave only to come right back?

 

- I get the impression that Sunset didn't really have a plan as such. Everything she did seemed impulsive and spur-of-the-moment stuff.

 

5.) Why do the mirror connect to a statue and not another mirrior

 

- Nothing stopping it from connecting to a pool of water, or a telephone booth. There's no rule that portals have to be symmetric.

 

6.) Why is the mane 6 of that world in Canterlot and not a humanized Ponyville

 

- No idea.

 

7.)  How can Human Rainbow Dash be the Captian of every sports team that wouldn't give her much time to herself

 

- I knew people like this in High School. Some people don't want 'time to themselves', and are pushing *way* to hard for a sports scholarship in college, leading to burn-out.

 

8.)  What was Sunset Shimmer's theory on what Happens to an Element of Harmony that goes in another world 

 

- Again, I'm not sure she really had a theory. I think she was making stuff up as she went along.

 

9.) Snips and Snails clearly thought Sunset Shimmer was crazy when she mentioned Equestria yet they still willingly worked for her and why were they working for her to begin with

 

- Because they're idiots.

 

10.) Why was Twilight certain about Rainbow Dash in the photo but not Rarity when she didn't meet both of them 

 

- I don't remember this bit to comment.

- Over-enthusiastic foley artist. Not that uncommon in movies.

- I could have sworn they did mention it, but I can't remember what it is. I'd have to re-watch to find out.

 

14.) If the Elements of Harmony don't exist in that world why did Sunset Shimmer cause them to fight

 

- Likely this is part of her scheme to exert dominance over the whole school. They were simply a group of close friends opposing her, and it's easier to break them up than confront them as a group.

 

15.) Why did Sunset Shimmer go near the soccer field did she know Twilight was gonna be there

 

- Again, she didn't seem to be big on thinking ahead much.

 

16.) Wondercolts why not Wonderbolts 

 

- Otherwise they wouldn't be able to work in the fake ears and tails gags.

 

17.) musical number = vote for Twilight.  They other students didn't even know her 3 days earlier.

 

- When I was in school, if a bunch of cheerleaders burst into the lunchroom and started flirting with everyone during a song number the way the human 6 did during that song... Yeah, most of the school would be doing whatever they said.

 

18.) The photo evidence why not just edit it digitally for no physical evidence

 

- They had to discredit the evidence somehow, and spending time explaining digital signatures would have been a bit off for the tone of the movie.

1.) Like Star Scribe said, it was planned, and word ought to have gone around throughout parts of Equestria talking about how Princess Twilight was visiting the Crystal Empire for potential leisure or political purposes.

2.) It didn't. The Element of Magic has been in its tiara form since the beginning of the series.

3.) The mirror was put into the Crystal Empire to be watched over by Cadance...albeit poorly. That was probably convenient to the plot.

4.) Celestia explains this plan to Twilight, saying that Sunset took advantage of the portal only being open for three days, and she thought that Twilight would buy the decoy she put for that amount of time. Sunset figured that by the time Twilight realized it was a fake, three days would've already passed, and she wouldn't be able to retrieve her crown.

6.) It doesn't have the class of Canterlot, it just happens to be called Canterlot. Besides, it's a better name for a school than Ponyville High, even if that name makes much more sense.

7.) Rainbow Dash likes showing off her abilities. She'd be more than happy to dedicate most of her time to do so. The real question is, why wouldn't she?

8.) I'm assuming she didn't know, judging by the pain she seemed to experience during her transformation and her surprise at her demon form, but she just wanted to give Twilight a reason as to why she's useless.

9.) They're not very smart. They're sheep that desperately need someone to follow, regardless of how crazy or corrupted they are.

11.) Spike, living around Twilight all or most of his life, has picked up some of her habits...and he actually had hands to write lists with back in Equestria. He was the one who wrote them in the first place, with Twilight saying what she wanted on a list.

13.) That part is somewhat hazy in my memory, but Fluttershy could have been a partner in crime to one of the other Mane 6, or actually believes what the rest of them had to say about it.

14.) She probably knew that the power of friendship could easily stop her, and that all they needed was one more person with potential power to truly unite them together. So she broke them off before that had a chance of happening.

16.) Must be an all male sports team at the school. Wonderbolts includes both male and female athletes, yet colts, being male ponies, suggest all males.

17.) All the students knew were the weird habits and outright lies portrayed in Sunset's video used as propaganda against Twilight. The whole point of the song was to prove those claims to be irrelevant and to have the student body see Twilight for the great person she is on the inside. 

18.) It's a trope called "We Will Not Use Photoshop in the Future." Google it.

19.) His logic was that the Mane 5 befriended her for the person she was on the inside, and they would accept her for the same reason. And, for the sake of having a good moral, that's exactly what they did. Keep in mind this is a fictionalized version of reality. 

20.) Someone must've said, "This movie could really use a somewhat creepy wide angle lens shot!"

21.) Sunset wanted to win through the fear of the student body and discredit of the other opponent. Twilight wanted (and needed) to win by encouragement of the student body, and letting them have a hand in organizing a big school event. Remember that thing Principal Celestia said at the end about princesshood? That applies here.

22.) Once again, not very bright.

23.) She could have crushed another part of the statue, destroying it, and breaking the portal in the process.

24.) This is the way it works, and Sunset must've not known about it.

25.) She wanted a teenage army for some reason. 

26.) The only reason that exists is to put more pony-like features on the characters, and giving ideas for new toys to sell.

27.) That doesn't seem to matter in Equestria.

28.) Well, they saw that magic exists, and while it may be strange, it saved their asses. They're completely grateful for the existence of magic, an, in turn, a parallel dimension.

29.) Let's rewind to the Season 2 finale, shall we? "There's a major threat that could possibly attack Canterlot, but we're having the royal wedding anyway and haven't considered postponing it once." Besides, the student body worked hard for this event to happen, they shouldn't let some awfully tempered tyrant ruin it for them.

30.) Vice Principal Luna only made them do that to prove a point.
