Twilight Is Unfair

-First of all, the egg test was essentaily a Kobayashi Maru, and Twilight only passed it because of Rainbow Dash. It was so unfair and disgusting for me. Celestia only cared for Twilight and we never saw any other of her students

The way I see it, Twilight never did "pass the test", because she accidentally broke it (among other things) when she got startled. And the test was to get into the school, not become Celestia's personal student. So it was just lucky that she was within viewing range of Celestia at the time, and Celestia would have offered the position to her regardless of whether she'd previously been attempting an entrance exam, or just sitting around reading a book in the library or something.

 

-Second, it is horribly unfair how Twilight's talent is Magic itself. Altrough she is my favourite pony, this was always making me angry. Why other unicorns must have just one special talent? The whole equestria seems to be a world of Ganondorfs ruled by single Meta Knight, if you've played SSBB you will know what I mean.

Yes, this is the root of Twilight's overpoweredness, and why it bothered me when everyone was freaking out about her becoming an alicorn "making her overpowered", because she was overpowered from the very first episode. Or at least Boast Busters. This is actually one of her core character challenges, to be kind enough that ponies will want to be friends with her, despite her being "better" than them. Celestia has the same problem, and that's one of the reasons I love them as a romantic couple.

 

-Thing that made me mad, was when Twilight became an alicorn. No, that's not bad. She deserved it for her accomplishments. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER PONY IN EQUESTRIA! Alicorns are long lived, and while they aren't gods, they may be immortal. Just think about it. Celestia has the power to grant immortality to all subjects she loves. But she chooses not to, and just grant it to those who she favors. I used to love her, but now....

As others have said, it was Twilight and her friends that set off the elements of harmony to get her to that astral plane place. I haven't read the crystal heart spell book, but MLP wiki says Cadence got to that place as a result of some magic amplification. So at the very least I think ponies have to make it there on their own before Celestia can transform them, if she was even involved in the process at all.

 

-What about other students of Celestia? How they will react when they see the personal diamond of Celestia being made a princess, and they will not because they have been born with wrong genes that caused less raw magic power? How fair is that?

Sunset Shimmer's problem was selfishness. I don't think we know about any others, but presumably they were all either too weak or not friendly enough, and thus would most likely be jealous and/or sad. But one of my favorite lines from Doctor Who, "I've never met anyone who wasn't important". Being an alicorn isn't the only purpose of life.

 

-How come none of the mane six is angry at Celestia for not making them into alicorns? What would Twilight be without her 5 friends? NOTHING! Why are they happy that their friend is an alicorn, but they don't get anything? I actually had an idea for a fic where Pinkie and Applejack kills Twilight and Celestia because they were treated unfairly.

Well, Applejack's family is pretty much the essence of mortality, so I think she'd be sad if she didn't get to die. But the others might be a little jealous. Especially Rarity, wanting to be royalty. Although she could always marry Twilight for that part But for some reason the idea of making the whole mane 6 into alicorns just rubs me the wrong way. Immortal Cadence doesn't seem right either, especially without Shining. And by that point it definitely runs into the problem that all ponies (and other creatures) should be immortal then. IMO, it should have just been Celestia, Luna, Twilight and Spike as the immortal/long lived family.

APPLEJACK: "What in tarnation would Ah want with a horn an' wings?  Me an' my kin git our work done jus' fine without 'em.  Ah'd rather be out in the orchard enjoyin' the sun an' clean air than spendin' mah time with a bunch o' dusty ol' books, an' if Ah tried t' fly?  Heck, they'd have t' rename me Applesauce.  An' don't even get me started on all that 'princess' stuff with froo-froo crowns an' frilly dresses--no offense, Rarity."

 

FLUTTERSHY: "Me?  A...an Alicorn princess?  Ooooh, nooo, I...I wouldn't..." *hides*

 

RAINBOW DASH: "Are you kidding?  A horn would just make me 20% slower!  Ruins the aerodynamics.  Do you see any Alicorns in the Wonderbolts?  Me neither."

 

PINKIE PIE: "Why would I want to be an Alicorn, when I can do this? *zips off-screen, returns in a blur with a "changing room on wheels," and ducks behind the curtain.  Emerges with a curlicue horn on her forehead and a pair of jet engines on nacelles sprouting from her back.  Flies around in loops like a deflating balloon set loose, lands, fires a spray of streamers and confetti from her horn and "un-stretches" back into her normal form.*  "I do kinda like 'Pinkiecorn,' but it's not as good a word as chimicherrychanga!"  *Bounces off with a big smile on her face*

 

RARITY: "Oooh.  'Princess Rarity!'  I must say, I do like the sound of that!  Especially if I got to have a beautiful palace with lots of gems and fine marble and precious metal inlay!  And I would be quite the sensation at all the parties in Canterlot!  But...then...everypony might just say they love my designs because I'm a princess, and only buy them out of pretense.  I work much to hard at my craft to want anypony to buy my dresses for any reason other than sheer Fabulousity!  And, as much as I enjoyed those wings Twilight made for me...after what happened...I think I prefer to keep my hooves on the ground where they belong, thank you very much!"

''What? What did you just did to Twilight, Princess Celestia? Why did you turned her into an Alicorn? - said Pinkie Pie.

 

''She discovered magic of friendship etc.''

 

''What about us? We also contributed to defeat ever evil thing in Equestria! That's very unfair!'' - Said Rainbow Dash.

 

''Ah think that you are right, Pinkie! I've been workin' hard but it is Twilight who get's all the rewards!'' - Said Applejack.

 

''You know, Twilight, you will always be our friend, but you need somepony else to carry the elements of harmony, because from now, I won't. I fought many times but it didn't matter as the princess always preferred you than us. - Said Applejack, throwing her element on the ground.

 

''Princess, Why? Why did you always preferred those Unicorns who were born with with more raw magic power? Why cannot being generous like me, or kind like Fluttershy turn you into a Princess? Why?

 

Celestia cried, ''Ponies, please! You have to continue your destiny! Not everpony is destined to be a princess, and every path is worth the same!''

 

''ENOUGH!'' Twilight said, and everpony looked at her with horror. When nopony was looking at her, she amputated her wings painlessly with a spell.

 

''You know what I think? You are completely right, Rarity! I think that not only no one of us should a a princess, but that nopony in the world should be one!''

 

''What did you said, Twilight?'' Celestia said, shocked.

 

''Oh, you and Luna know what I'm talking about.'' ''I'm talking about astronomy and how I discovered that sun and moon move without your magic! You've always said that it's impossible to see your or Luna's magic aura around the moon or sun because of the distance, but yesterday I've discovered that in fact, you don't even use your horn to move the raise the sun. It does that on it's own.''

 

"Twilight! How dare you! I've cared for you, teached you so many things, and now..''

 

''And how about you tell us about the thousands of your enemies who are now statues in your garden? I've always wondered how did you turned them into statues without the elements of harmony, but I've also unlocked this mystery'' ''The mystery, that I shall reveal right now!'' Twilight said, and with a powerfull spell, she covered Celestia in a white light.

 

Everypony was shocked by what they saw after this.

 

''Ahem! I present you, the only 2 female draconequuses in existence, Celestia and Luna'' ''They are now powerless thanks to a spell I found in a very old book that was buried under the library. It speaks of two beings who came to this world, looking like ponies, and forced every bipedal being who was here to drink a potion that transformed them into ponies.'' ''Then, a third being known as Order, tried to stop them and reverse the damage. But he failed, and he was transformed into a statue. But, he isn't known today as Discord! The Discord we fought and reformed was in fact Luna in her natural form. As for why Luna was in the moon, well, this was staged 3 years ago, yes, 3, just for one trick: To force me and you to become harmless friends. Since I was born, I was stronger than all of unicorns. You know what I found out yesterday? In the same old book, written by Order in case of failure, there were three spells: First, the Draconequus stunning spell he couldn't use then because he was exhausted from repairing the world.'' ''Second, the spell to regain any removed memories. That was the spell that I used first, out of curiosity, on myself. Third, the spell that I shall use right now, is an extremely powerful world repairing spell.'' Twilight said, and she used it.

 

All of the ponies looked at their surrounding. the sky was blue as always, but instead for forests and mountains, the entire area was covered by buildings. There were tubes labeled ''Maglev Transport'' and building called ''CENTRAL DENVER CONVERSION BUREAU. There was also a screen on one of buildings with a date: 23.07.2072. Everything was apparently made by ''Worldcorp''.

 

''This is the world before the death barrier created by Celestia destroyed the so called ''Human Civilization''. The spell will now reverse the second, much worse damage.''

 

All of the ponies were covered with white light, and when the were released, the were bipedal, with hands, looking like hairless monkeys.

 

''Please, don't be afraid. This is how you all looked before it happened. You see, you were all humans just 4 years ago. But when Celestia and Luna converted the entire world, they implanted everypony with a false memory that over 1000 years have passed. They has to decide what to do with the defeated Order. So, they turned him into...'' Twilight started to cry. and then, she changed shape.

 

''Me.'' Twilight said. Now, she wasn't a pony, but a Draconequus. ''I am Order. And I've discovered who I am just yesterday, thanks to the old book I made in case of emergency. I've been, just like you, alive only for about 4 years, and the rest are just memory implants. Now that you remember your real life, you can start to rebuild this world. I will help you. As for Celestia and Luna, they are harmless now. I can remove them from existence with a touch.'' Which is what Twilight/Order did.

 

''There used to be about 10 billion humans before the death barrier. Now, there are just about 2.5 million, because majority preferred death rather than ponification. I have the power to ressurect all of them, which is what I will do now.''

 

Now, I will help you with everything. As for you memories of your pony life, keep them. In my opinion memory erasing is worse than murder.

 

''Order...I mean, Twilight!'' Rarity said, ''what happened to Spike?''

 

''Look behind you, Rarity.''

 

''Mommy!'' a small boy said, and he hugged Rarity.

 

Not everything was easy for Mane Six, but the world was eventualy rebuild. Order then said to his friends:

 

''I will come here again, my beloved friends, but for now, I have to stop someone.''

 

''Who?'' Fluttershy asked.

 

''As I said, there were 2 female of us....and 2 male of us. My brother is living in another universe and I'm sick of his antics. But he's not evil, he just needs to be reformed.''

 

''But you will come back, Order?''

 

"Of course, Rainbow Dash. Me and Q will come back.''

Although it may seem unfair, luck is what makes everyone who they are. If the same things happened to everyone, no one would be unique. Therefore, although it may be seen as unfair, luck was what helped Twilight become who she was.
