Fire Horn turned to see him. "Stephan? Wow, it's you, it's been a while." Fire Horn stopped hesitantly. "Is the sword still posessing you or...?" Fire Horn asked.

"That's very nice of you to s..." Starburst stopped for a moment and tensed up, he saw Grand getting hit on the head by a plant pot.

When it stopped, he pushed Grand out of the way and the plant pot hit the ground.

"Sorry!" Came a yell from above.

"Oh no. Your son and Grand took care of that." Blast said assuringly. "You're son has become a promising young fellow, as if he wasn't promising before." Blast looked around his workspace and was a bit perplexed. "In fact, why are you working at a blacksmith? I didn't think you'd be working here in a place like this."

Grand looked at the pot on the ground. She scratched her head then looked up. "huh" she said out loud. "that was pretty lucky wasnt it?" she said, looking at where she was standing a moment ago. "Thats pretty lucky you moved me out of the way wasnt it?" she said, glad she didnt just get hit on the head by a flowerpot

"Yeah, i should mention, this cutie mark here..." Starburst said. "Happened when i had an accident with a spell, a little while later, i had a vision of something, then it happened, i shrugged it off, but it kept happening, then i realised that it was my special talent , i got my cutie mark." Starburst said.

"I know, we're planning to send him to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, though strictly speaking, he isn't a unicorn." Fire Horn said. "Missy will be back from the school later, you should come round and we'll have a proper reunion, i'll introduce you to her."

"wow, a time cutie mark? thats pretty awesome" she said, examining it. "well, thanks for helping me avoid a pretty nasty goosebump then" she said laughing. "well we should get to your mothers then. Im excited to meet her properly" Grand said smiling. She was in awe at the main street of canterlot.

Stephan nodded. "I think my days as the Ghost are over. I just want to live a peaceful life as an everyday earth pony. I've spent 8 years being possessed by a freaking sword. I just want to relax for a while." He took a seat and took a load off. "I just need to get my life back on track. Get a living space, a working job, settle down with Gran-" Stephan hesitated at that last thing. "Nevermind. I just want to be happy for a bit."

"Don't worry, i've noticed sometimes, the way you are with her, it's a noble thing, being the Ghost, i wish you success with pursuing your love for Grand." Fire Horn said. "Well, go with Starburst to the house, i'm just about to finish my shift in a few hours, i'll meet you guys up there."

"We should get to the house, my mum is most likely at work still." Starburst said.

Grand smiled and nodded. "sounds good" she said walking beside Starburst. As the house appeared in view, Grand smiled. "This is a lovely home" she said happily. she cant beileve how many years have passed. Life was starting to feel normal again. "have you given any thought to what you want to do now that your all grown up?" she asked as they approached the house

"I haven't really given it much thought really, i guess i just thought of thinking of it as i went along." Starburst said. "My father is planning to find the cause of the outbreak, the origins of it, i'm going with him tomorrow to the library, the ancient scrolls." Starburst opened the door to the house. "Well, this is home."

Blast jumped up and got to his hooves. "Sounds like a plan. I'll see you soon." Blast jetted off into the city and back to Fire Horn's house. He saw Grand and Starburst already at the house he ran inside before Starburst closed the door. "Huh. Still go the speed in me."

"it seems everyones been so busy" she said, examining the house. "its so endearing! you must be doing quite well to have such a beautiful house" she said smiling. "My house is quite a shack but i suppose thats what happens when you earn a living by doing circus tricks on the street" she said, laughing to herself. She loved what she did though, she wouldnt change it for the world

"You know, i never stopped thinking about all of you. I kept remembering that trick you taught me, so i practiced." Starburst picked up some rubber balls and started juggling them perfectly. "TaDa!" Starburst said, dropping them almost immediately. "I'm not the best at it."

Grand laughed. "thats amazing. I cant believe you remembered that" she looked at Stephan. "Check it out! I taught him that" she said gleefully. "You still have that speed hmm?" she said, noticing that he wasnt actually there a few moments ago. She had forgotten how fast he was.

Stephan laughed. "You'll get better, kid." He said with an assuring smile. Stephan looked around the place. "Nice little living space you have here, Starburst. Much better than the shack I lived in 8 years ago." He laughed to himself. "I'm thinking about leaving the Ghost persona behind and be normal for a bit. 8 years being possessed by a sword takes it's toll."

Everyone was together in the house.

Grand, Carrick, Stephan, even Carrick, along with Fire Horn, Starburst and Missy.

"So, Fire Horn has spoken a lot about you, his friends, how did you guys meet anyway?" Missy asked Grand.

Grand thought way back. "well, Josh, Fire and I were with a different group of survivors, but we decided to head to Ponyville. we met Ghost along the way and stuck together from there. We went through Ponyville, appleoosa, and Trottingham where we gained Carrick and your son, and finally here. we went our seperate ways for awhile, but now we are all together again and thats what matter" she said, happy to be with everyone again.

"I don't mean to pry but 8 years ago, Fire Horn mentioned emotional damage, what exactly did he mean by that?" Missy asked.

"I don't know whether you're still looking into it, but i'm going to the ancient scrolls and tomes section of the library tomorrow, care to join me?" He asked Carrick.

Grands smile faded. "My sister had turned, and she was who I was looking for for quite a long time. But time has passed and ive learned to move on." she said, sighing. "I think ive got a picture of her somewhere at my home, but other than that, I dont have much to remember her by. Of course im one of the many who have lost family. I lost that perspective for awhile, but I can assure you I dont need any sympathy. Ive had 8 years to heal" she said smiling

Stephan laughed. "I'm just dropping it for a while. I just need to take some time to breath and just live normal." He said. Stephan took a deep breath and kicked back. He pondered thoughts of the past 8 years. He couldn't even remember what the sword made him do. It's like as if nothing even really happened in the 8 years his free will was gone.

"I nver had a real family, my mother and father left when i was a filly, as a matter of fact, i don't know whether i have a sister or not. Or a brother." Missy said. "I can't possibly imagine hoe you must have felt, but it's all in the past, you should get to the table in the dining room, tell the others too. Dinner is ready."

"I think we all need time to breathe, even 8 years isn't enough to recover from the horrors of the outside world." Starburst said.

Grand smiled and nodded.  "boys, Dinners ready" she called out to the next room where the two were sitting. She took a seat at the table and took a deep breath. "It smells lovely. I cant wait to try it" she said happily, setting the napkin on her lap. "You have a lovely family, Im glad I had the chance to meet them" she said happily

Starburst heard and ran to the dining table. It was a relatively small table, but everyone could fit easily.

"We'll discuss this later." Fire Horn whispered to Carrick and joined them at the table,

 

"Yes, i love them all so much, i just..." Missy paused. "...sometimes i feel as if my family as incomplete, the bearers of the elements of harmony were evacuated to the griffon kingdoms on the first day of the outbreak. I miss Twilight and my friends." A tear fell from her eye.

Stephan walked to the dinner table and sat down. He began eating. "Thank you. Thank you very much. This food is delightful." At a moment, Stephan stopped eating dead in his tracks. The memories of all of the pain the sword made him cause. He remembered that he took out an entire town... Appaloosa. Stephan dropped his silverware and pushed himself from the table. "I'm sorry. It's just... I need a moment." Stephan dashed out of the house without saying a word.

Grand looked at him with concern. "perhaps I should go talk to him" Grand said before politely leaving the table and pushing her chair in. She followed Stephan as far as she could but she lost him after a while. she huffed before walking down a random alley, hoping her luck was with her

Stephan lied in the alley, crying a little bit. Thoughts of the past eight years started running through his mind. What he did in Appaloosa was frightening. It scared Stephan just thinking about it. How could he do such a thing to a small little town?
