In a short but bright zap, the two had disappeared and entered Missy's mind.
"It appears we're in Ponyville, in Equestria, but everything seems so peaceful." Fire said. "Ponies playing, having fun? What is this?" Fire was getting confused. They were in the Ponyville Square, on a sunny day.
"Come on, Starburst, we're going to the park today." Missy said, much to their surprise, it was Missy, she was with Starburst...and Fire Horn? Fire pulled Grand behind a wall.
"What is going on? Got any insights?" Fire asked.

"I dont know, clearly you were the one here for this memory, though if this is a memory causing pain, its only a matter of time until things start to take a turn for the worse" She said, wondering if other ponies could see them. If this was the time she was thinking, she wouldnt be running into herself, She would be in Manehattan. "DO you think this might be just before the infection hit?" She said, waving her hoof in front of a ponies face. they seemed to be invisible

"Of course, this is the day we were going out with Twilight to the park, but then the trotters over-ran the village, i was seperated from her." Suddenly, trotters started appearing from all directions. Missy and Starburst were surrounded, then, a grey pegasus swooped in to save them and flew off. "Come on, let's follow!" Fire ran in the direction the pegasus went.

"We have to go back." Missy was saying, with Starburst hugging her leg.
"We can't go back, i risked a lot to save you, just be thankful, please." The grey pegasus said, she had strange eyes.

"I think I remember that pony, She often delivered my mail... or someone elses mail. She wasnt the greatest mailpony but she was one of the nicest mares Ive ever met... though her name escapes me" She says, tapping her chin. Suddenly a thought entered her mind. "So, do you suppose this is the only area we can access or, is all of ponyville here, before the trotters came" She said curiously

"But what happened to him, Derpy, i need to find him." Missy said desperately.
"Oh, alright, you're lucky i can't resist youur demands." Derpy said. "There is a small refugee camp not far away from Ponyville, it's in Trottingham. They might be there."

"I don't know, Grand, but this memory is all about Missy, so i guess... we follow her until we find the source of her pain." Fire said.


(This is three months after the outbreak.)

Stephan wasn't good with this whole 'shoulder-to-cry-on' thing, but he was trying. "Well, look on the bright side; you and I are doing a good job of protecting her, as well as the rest of the group. After all, we're the protectors of the group, aren't we?" He told him in a calm tone.

"Yeah, we are protectors.. But I've never been able to feel like I've done enough, to anypony really.." Zeta gave a slight pause, sniffing and continued on. "You all keep saying that it's fine from what I do, but to me, it feels like I let down everyone, because I've failed so many times already..."

Grand sighed a bit, but continued to follow her. "You were in trottingham first? I thought you were in Manehattan with us the whole time" She said, looking at the grey pegasus. she never realized that most other ponies were hard to identify. must have been becuase she wasnt focussing on them

"Simple, i was never in Trottingham beforehand, but this must be her traumatic memory, something she's repressed for so long, it almost literally exploded in her mind, causing this." Fire said, then after a while of walking, they were attacked by a group of bandits.
"Oh crap, Grand, we have to follow them." Fire said, galloping after the bandits who had kidnapped Missy, Derpy and Starburst.

Grand followed behind closely. "There were bandits this early into the outbreak? Some ponies are just awful" She sputtered, keeping pace with Fire as best she could. "so where were you then? Were you always in Manehattan?" she asked curiously, looking at the young starburst with a tinge of sadness

Stephan just shook his head. "Do you realize how many failures we've all had ever since we even met?" Stephan asked him. "Fire had his failures, Grand had her failures, even I had my failures. If you think you're a failure, then we must all be failures as well, because nopony is better than anypony else here at this point."

"I guess i just wandered really, i did try to find Missy, but well, you saw where that got me. Actually, that's an interesting story, i ever tell you how i met Zeta?" Fire said while following the bandits, they'd knocked Missy unconcious and Derpy and left Starburst behind.

Grand watched with uncomfortable eyes. "no, you havent" SHe said, a little disgruntled with what was happening in front of her. "We found Starburst in Trottingham, correct? How did he find Missy then" she said, watching carefully. She hoped nothing too awful had happened to her

"I guess if you say so, then i'll consider myself as a pony rather then a failure, though you're kind of forcing me to do so.." Zeta replied back to Stephan. He smiled, realizing that he was forced to think different for once and nuzzled his leg.

"Hey Stephan... Thanks for saying that. I think it kind of changed my mood, took it off Grand a little since i'd know she's safe."

"Well, you'd have to ask Missy, but it looks like nothing is happening right jow, so i'll tell you about how i met Zeta." Fire said. "I had just come out of a run-down tavern in Baltimare, i had been attacked by....couple of low-lifes, addicts, you know the type. Well, i was about to get the stuffing kicked out of me, when Zeta kicked their asses, it was awesome."

(Some people may feel uncomfortable reading this next part.)

Fire and Grand looked through a small, broken window to the basement of a house, Missy was tied up to a wall, as well as Derpy, a stallion appeared through a door, placing a blindfold and a gag on Derpy, forcing Missy to watch what was happening, the stallion raped and almost killed her before he stopped and turned his attention to Missy.
"You.....killed....Derpy!" Missy yelled. Get off me, get...go." A magical brace had been put around her horn so she couldn't use magic. Fire was shocked at what he was seeing.
Missy kicked the stallion, got free of the bindings and threw a knife into his neck, taking off the brace and shooting the other.
"Derpy, please tell me you're OK." Derpy groaned as Missy free'd her and brought her outside where they escaped.

Grand covered her mouth and turned away. "Why... why would anyone do that" She said, her covering her eyes. "Nopony should ever have to..." Grands face began to heat up. "Those damn lowlifes better be rotting in some hellhole, If they arent, Ill make damn sure they do!" She said in a voice filled with rage.

"I agree, as well Stephan." He got back up with him, wiping his face off and walked off to where the three ponies to see what they were doing.

"If I had a horn, i'd join in with Fire and Grand just to help them out in what they were doing. Of course, I wouldn't be as strong as I am now but still.."

"We haven't got much time left beforethe cycle continues, why would Missy be stuck on this event, is it guilt, did she feel useless and she should've done something? I have a feeling we're going to find out." Fire Horn said, following the staggering Missy who had now dropped Derpy and was now trying to resuscitate her.
"C'mon Derpy, wake up, you can't die, please!" Missy yelled while crying, she stopped when she realised nothing was happening. Then, Derpy's corpse suddenly came to life and attacked Missy.
"Derpy, don't come any further, i'll shoot you." Missy threatened, just as it was about to lunge, Missy shot Derpy, right in the head, blowing her head to pieces. Missy sat against a rock crying Then they were transported to a black room, only Grand, Fire and Missy were there.
"What are you guys doing here?" This was the real Missy.

Grand looked T her, surprised that she could see them. "We... We came to help you. We thought maybe coming into your memory might help you" she said quietly, u sure what to say. " I'm.. So sorry you had to see that. Just knowing that something like that happened makes my blood boil, I can only imagine what you must have been feeling"

"You thought you could help me, nopony can help me, i was made to watch as y friend got raped and murdered by some lunatic, if that wasn't bad enough....well, you saw what happened." Missy looked down at the ground.
"Missy, you torture yourself emotionally for this, but why? You were not the one who killed Derpy." Fire argued.
"I shot her i.." Missy responded but was cut off.
"She was dead before that, come here." Fire pulled Missy in for a hug. "It's time to let go of the past, we're about to save Equestria after all."

Grand watched as they hugged with a smile. "Perhaps we should get out of her before anything bad happens" she says quietly, not wanting to interrupt the moment they were having. "I don't know how to break off the spell so you'll have to do it firehorn, unless you two need more time here"

"Right, remember, her death wasn't your fault, you can't keep blaming yourself for things in the past." Fire said. "Let's go, Grand, Missy will come out when she's ready." Fire used a spell and they both appeared back outside with a familiar, loud zap.

Stephan sort of winced at the loud sound, as he saw the trio come out back into the real world. "What happened in there... nevermind. I don't think I wanna know." Stephan said, forgetting the question. "Now that that's done, should we continue?)

"One moment, Stephan." Fire said, sitting down next to Missy as she slowly awoke from her memory, she looked up at Grand and Fire and smiled.

"I've never been so glad to see you guys." Missy said, jumping up and pulling them both into a big hug. "Thank you, Fire, i don't know what happened, one minute i was flying, then..." Missy's sentence trailed off at the end.

"It is alive... the Shrine, alive... it could see, it could feel, steer them away, Ink, convince them to stay away, Ink, you know what happened to the Heters, you saw them... " Ink murmured, twitching as well; he was walking around in circles, repeating the same same words. "The Shrine... the Shrine... you saw them... you saw them." he continue blabbing on and on, luckily he wasn't anywhere near the group.

'The Shrine' and 'you saw them' those words kept repeating themselves out of Ink's tongue, he looked at the group. Those six ponies, Ink looked at them. 

 

Ink plainly spoke one of Star Swirl's inscription quietly, the one that he remembered the most;

 

"On the day of the apocalypse, where death reigns on the plains of the living... Six individuals whom carries the Elements of Harmony in their hearts; their spirits. Six individuals whom are bonded well with each other will be called upon to The Shrine, to make one final act, so that this world could heal from it's corruption. And as I fear, one of my bloodlines will be one of them."

 

Ink Drop certainly lied about Missy's part on all of this.
