Caramel wasnt really listening to the conversation. Her attention had been drawn to the animals that filled Fluttershys property. She watched as dquirrels climbed up trees and birds sang in the branches. She had never had a pet and she had vowed she would convince Grand to let her get one.

 

Grand had finished reading and walked over to her bookshelf that was filled to the brim with different scripts. She started pulling a few out and reading them for old times sake. Assuming no one could hear her she started reciting lines to herself, full out voice change and all

He was shocked by this new voice of Grands, turning around and slowly crept back and hid behind a couch to listen to her. It sounded very soothing actually, much more natural that she was doing her talent which is why she had her cutie mark in the first place.

Eventually, Zeta got so into it that he accidently fell over and landed on his face.

"Not exactly sure why you'd want me to keep it a secret, but sure thing, princess." He said. He put the book back onto the shelf neatly. "Thanks for having me, Twilight. I'll see you around." Stephan ran back to the house and dashed inside, nearly crashing into the couch upon entering. He also noticed that Zeta fell flat on his face behind the couch.
"Zeta, what are you doing?" He asked.

Grand jumped and dropped the script. "Zeta, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" She said, trying to calm herself. She then blushed. "Oh... um, how long were you there for?" She asked, picking up the book tightly before setting it down on the bed. "I didnt realize I had company" She said, embarassed

"Oh er... I'm, sorry Grand." He said, standing back up and looked to her. Zeta noticed that Grand became a bit tense and looked different when he was spotted, so he felt a little bad but didn't let it get in the way. "I was just, so into your scripts. You were well actually, like.. Spot on that I liked it a lot. It got me imagining a certain film in my head and, I just got carried away.. Look, I guess i'll leave now if you want..."

"Do you need any help with your animals?" Starburst asked.

"Nope,  I've got everything under control." Fluttershy replied. "But you're still welcome to stay."

 

Missy was having a nightmare, she was tossing and turning. It was what you might expect, the bandits, surrounding her, raping her.....it was something she couldn't shake. She woke up suddenly, sweating.

"Missy? Bad dream?" Fire asked.

"Yeah, just a bit, excuse me, I have to go." Missy left the house.

Stephan sat down on the couch and looked at Fire. "Looks like they were relentless when they sexually assaulted her." He said, lying back down. "Hopefully this therapy stuff will do her some good."

"I wish there was something I could do to stop this suffering she's going through, but......I am powerless to hlelp." Fire said. "I only hope that Grand can help with therapy." Fire looked at Stephan. "Every night they did it, every night for four months, I can't imagine what effect that must have had on her."

 

Missy felt confused she didn't know what to do, the dream was extremely vivid this time, she could feel it even after she had stopped dreaming.

Stephan sighed and sat up from the couch. "Look, we've both been through a lot. Even though it never even happened, we're still feeling the after-effects. I'm gonna go down to the bar and try my first alcohalic beverage. You wanna come so you can try to take your mind off of things?" He asked.

Caramel smiled. "You have a lovely house, I would love to be surrounded by animals on the time, you would never be lonely"

He was shocked by this new thing that they were building up, and let out a little smile. "A new, theatre..? I may have to come then, to see you and some others maybe perform.. I think you would do well up on the stage, and if it makes you happy then i'll reserve a front row seat."

But then Zeta quickly turned around and put a hoof to his mouth, realizing what he had said. More or less he wanted to stay away from Grand, but since it was already said there wasn't much else.

"Alright, but don't let me drink too much, and if I do, just knock me unconscious, I tend to get a little violent when  I'm drunk, you know that more than anypony." Fire said, following Stephan.

 

Missy didn't want to feel the pain any longer, so she walked over to the fountain and stuck her head into it, she passed out.

 

(I believe this is one of the symptoms)

"Well of course you'll be there, and so will everyone else. If I am to perform again then I want all of you there to see it" She said happily. "Another thing though, is I might start up perhaps an acting class. And since I'll be helping Missy, I might as well help other ponies too. I think it will be a wonderful idea to use the dramatic arts as a way to heal ponies who need it." She said happily.

(I would think finding away to block out memories would be a symptom, yes)

Stephan laughed. "That's an understatement." The two walked outside and proceeded to the bar. As they walked through the city, they noticed a pony sticking their head into the fountain. That pony... was Missy. Stephan rushed over to Missy and pulled her out. She felt her pulse. "I think she's alive, Fire, but her lungs might be clogged with water..."

Zeta turned back around, a little embarrassed again and looked to her. "Yeah, that sounds good.. And an, acting class? I never thought of it really. Maybe ponies who want to get their mind off something, it'll help them. It'll help them a lot, heh.."

Fire lay her on the ground.

 

1... 2... 3... 4... 5...

 

Then he breathed in and put his mouth to hers and breathed, he kept on doing this over and over again, then, Missy started coughing , Fire put her head to the side and she coughed up the water. She opened her eyes very faintly.

"What were you doing?" Fire asked gently.

"It's always there, when I sleep, when I'm awake, the only freedom I could think of, was death." Missy said faintly before falling asleep again.

"Stephan, you go to the bar, I'll meet you there, I'll take Missy back to the house." Fire said.

"I hope so, even though I cant stand to be in that hospital anymore, that doesnt mean I want to stop helping ponies. This time, I'll be doing it my way." She said happily. Suddenly she heard everyone come inside and she saw Missy, who was all wet and coughing. She ran downstairs. "What happened? are you alright Missy?"

"What? No, screw the bar for now, man. I'm coming with you to make sure your wife makes it okay. My friends and their families mean a ton more to me than a drinking a beverage that will damage my liver for the first time." Stephan and Fire began carrying Missy back to the house. When they got back, they placed her on the couch.

Stephan looked up to Grand. "Missy just tried to drown herself, Grand." He told her. "We brought her back just in time. I hope you like learning about being a professional art therapist, because you'll probably need to learn a little faster, or else she'll try something like this again."

"She tried to drown herself in a fountain, there was nopony around, she would've definitely died." Fire said. "We can't tell Starburst about this, just keep it between us." Fire sat down next to Missy and started stroking her wet mane. Fire remembered that Starburst and Caramel had a pie in the oven. He went to the kitchen and took it out, it was cooked. Fire sighed.

Grand put her hoof to her forehead. "I suppose we have to start sooner than I thought. I'll just start with some basic ideas and I'll have to incorporate the more therapeutic methods later when I get them figured out." She said, stressed that Missy was at the point of suicide. "Just... remind her about Glint. Use that until I figure something out"

Stephan walked to Fire and sighed. "Great. Now your wife is suicidal." He complained. "Well, it's official that she can't be left alone until she's cured. We may have to take turns watching over her for a while. If we leave her alone, we'll risk the chance of her attempting it again."

He nodded and watched slowly as Grand exited the room to look at Missy downstairs. While they were occupied, he snuck out of the house and went over to where she previously was at the fountain and looked down at the reflection. This, thing.. I cant get rid of the thought about me and Grand...

"As I said, we shouldn't tell Starburst, him and Caramel are planning to go somwhere tomorrow and it's best that he be away from this." Fire said, he saw a small bottle of beer on a table. He levitated it up and drank from it. "Don't look at me like that, during stressful situations, this helps me.

Missy woke up and looked at Grand. She couldn't say anything, she was too ashamed to.

Grand just looked at her. "Missy, I know what youve gone through is terrible and disgusting and vile, But you must promise me you will not do that again. Not only did you put your life in danger, but the life of your child" She said calmly, but firmly. "If you are to get better, you are to do so in a healthy way. We will be starting therapy immediately" She said, hoping not to come off as harsh. "Now lets get you dried off. You will be lucky if you didnt catch a cold out there in the snow. I'll make you some soup" She said before grabbing a blanket and draping it over her. She gave her a towel and walked into the kitchen to start making the soup and groaned when she saw the mess Caramel and Starburst had left

Stephan raised his hooves up in a "Don't look at me" fashion.

"I didn't say anything. Just give me some of that." Stephan opened up the fridge and took out a bottle for himself. "Okay... down the hatch..." Stephan took a sip of the beer. He stopped drinking it in between sips. He couldn't really tell if he liked it or not, so he kept drinking until he could come up with the answer.

"What do you see in this stuff, Fire? It's terrible, but awesome at the same time..." He said, beginning to feel a little light-headed.

"I mostly drink whiskey, but this is the only thing available with alcohol in it." Fire said. "Tastes like crap but it calms the nerves."

 

Missy didn't respond to anything Grand said, she just felt cold and wet, the pain in her body distracting her from the pain in her mind.

 

Starburst smiled. "We won't keep you from your animals any longer, I'll see you later Aunt Fluttershy." Fluttershy waved as they left.
