Caramel smiled. "What is it Starburst?" She said as she shook her head and snow went everywhere.

 

Grand cleaned up the plates. "Maybe I should go look for them, just to make sure they're alright" she said, looking out the window to the snow filled streets. Young ponies played in the snow happily

Starburst panicked a little, he couldn't go through with it, what if he damaged their relationship beyond repair? What if she refused? What if Grand found out about it and didn't approve at all?
"It doesn't matter. Love you." Starburst said quickly before kissing her on the lips and walking towards the house and entering.

"Hey, guys. Sorry for being out so late Mum, and sorry for keeping Caramel out so late, Grand."

"Well, we're just glad you're safe." Missy said.

Fire was still reading his book.

"Okay, I love you too" she said as she kissed him back. She trotted back to the house and opened the door, glad to be warm and toasty. "Hi everyone, were alright, we stayed at Twilights" she said

 

Grand walked up to her sister. "You two are going to have to find a new place to bake. My kitchen doesn't like to be that Messy"

"If you want to, you two can use my kitchen if you wish to use it. I mostly use the microwave for frozen meals, anyways." He said with a slight laugh. He then looked over at Fire, who was busy reading a book. A Daring Do book, to be exact. "Fire, did you get into my shelf? Because that vaguely looks like my copy of that book you're reading."

Starburst excused himself, he went to just outside Grand's room, it was semi-secluded. He began talking to himself.

"How difficult is it? Why does the world have to be so complicated/" Starburst asked. "No, the world  isn't complicated, you're just a coward. I'm not a coward, I don't want to lose her, I love her too much for that." Starburst kicked his hoof on the ground.

"I just want to tell her that I love her, I want to spend the rest of my life with her." Starburst tidied himself up.

"Caramel, I love you with all my heart, from the day I met you, I knew you were going to be special in my life. So, will you do me the honor of being......." Starburst hit himself on the head with his hoof multiple times. "NO! You can't say that to her, you've been going out for only four months."

 

"Oh, right,sorry, it's just a good book is all." Fire said.

Stephan smirked. "I told you those books were good. But, nope. Never listen to the guy that barely reads." He stretched and got off of the couch. "I'm gonna go check on your boy real quick." Stephan went upstairs and heard Starburst talking to himself in Grand's room. He then knocked on the door. "You doing okay in there, bud?"

"Now that Stephan has got Starburst away for a while, what do you think we should do for Starburst's birthday?" Missy asked.

Fire almost dropped his book in surprise.

"Oh, ponyfeathers, I forgot that was so close." Fire said, feeling kind of ashamed.

 

 

"I'm fine, Stephan, I'm just having an argument......with myself." Starburst said.

Caramel piped up. "It's starbursts birthday soon? I haven't gotten him a present yet... I need to get thinking, it's gotta be the best gift ever!" She said before racing off to her room

 

Grand watched her sister run off. "That girl is too headstrong. She's gonna run herself straight into trouble one if these days" she sighed

Stephan immediately realized what he was in there for. 

"You chickened out?" He asked. He then opened up the door, no matter if Starburst wanted him to come in or not. He then shut the door behind him. "Starburst, how old are you again? Like, fifteen? Sixteen? There's no use in beating yourself up about this at a young age kid. You know you love Caramel, and she loves you back. There's no reason to be scared to tell her."

"I can't tell Caramel what I really want, because if I do, I might make her distance herself from me, then we;ll just drift apart, I don't want that." Starburst turned to Stephan, he looked kind of angry, but sad at the same time. "Do you really want to know what I feel?" Starburst walked over to Stephan and looked him in the eyes. "I hope to ask her to marry me some day. But it's too early. It's just how I feel so....."

 

"No doubt Pinkie remembered and she's told everypony in town already." Missy joked.

Stephan looked at Starburst. "Starburst, I'm extremely happy that you found a mare that you want to spend the rest of your life with. I'll probably never get that. That's why I'm happy for you." He said. "Don't beat yourself up about marriage yet. That's what fools do. If you stress about marriage, it might just break you, thus potentially breaking the relationship. Just be happy that you two get to spend time together and you make each other the happiest ponies ever."

Starburst sighed and smiled.

"Thanks Stephan, I'm glad you're here, I'd be stressing myself out over this otherwise." Starburst sat down on the bed. "Whenever I see her, or speak to her, she just brightens everything up, almost literally. I just know I'm meant to be with her."

"Well, she is related to Grand, and she makes me feel quite the same." He said with a small laugh, sitting in a chair across from the bed. "If you really loved you, you wouldn't rush into things. You two might just be meant for each other. It's up to you, the stallion in the relationship, to keep it that way."

Caramel whipped around the corner. "The stallion in the relationship?!?? What is that supposed to mean?" Caramel said to Stephan. "Are you putting up sexist stereotypes up in a relationship that isn't your own?" Caramel stomped. "I won't let any stallion tell me they have more power in a relationship because if their gender"

"Yeah, and until then, every time I speak to her I'll be thinking. "You're the best, do you want to marry me?", I'm absolutely pathetic about this, I can't ignore my feelings though, every time she giggles I just gaze absent-mindedly into her eyes like theres a fly on the end of her muzzle." Caramel walked in and started yelling at Stephan, Starburst slowly crept away from Caramel, wondering how much she heard.

Stephan's eyes widened. "I wasn't trying to put up sexist stereotypes, Caramel. I'm simply trying to tell that Starburst should be the big, strong stallion in the relationship, as well as you should be the strong mare in the relationship. You both should be strong and look out for each other is all."

In the time the group spent talking down below, the weak Zeta and Moon had came from upstairs out of the guest bedroom. The first thing he did was sneeze loudly when he got to the bottom of the steps while she comforted him in that time. "It seems like you're still in a pretty rough condition. Maybe we should get you to a doctor just to check on your body, since you seem to have some breathing problems as well."

But being Zeta, he shook his head in frustration again. "No, I don't need a doctor. I've already told Grand this, so just trust me.."

"Nice save. I don't like being classified as some weak namby pamby damsel in distress, I'm just as important to this relationship as him" she said before stomping off back to her room. She slipped under her sheets and grumbled to herself until she calmed down.

 

Grand heard her sister getting angry. "Right on time. She takes everything so seriously. I should go apologize to whoever she just lost it on"

"How much of our conversation did she hear? Oh Celestia, I've blown it, it's over.... I'm going to have to move to Saddle Arabia now, thanks a lot Stephan, you've really done it now." Starburst lay with his back on the bed, frustratedly.

 

Fire was reading the book entitled: "Daring Do and the Cove of Candkes"

Stephan gave a sad expression, but felt angry. "Fine. Be angry at me that you don't have the guts to ask her to go all the way." He stormed out of the room, furious, yet sad. He came back downstairs and sat on the couch next to Grand. "Remind me never to talk about their relationship around them. Ever." He groaned.

Grand sighed. "What did Caramel do this time? I'm sorry, she can get so worked up over nothing. One time she punched a colt in the face for fixing her grammar in class." She said before looking upstairs. "She didn't hit you did she? She's surprisingly strong for such a little mare"

"No. She didn't do anything physical." He said. "She came into the room while I was giving Starburst some advice on their relationship. I guess I said something about him being the 'stallion of the relationship' and she thought I was being sexist. She came in and snapped at me. I then told her the real point I was trying to get across, and she stormed out of the room and Starburst thinks I ruined his love life." He grunted. "Kids..."

"Kids?" Moon looked up and around the room even if she couldn't see anything. "Whatcha talkin about? It seems like an interesting topic, and I might as well wait until Zeta finally gives in to going to the hospital."

 

By then he was frustrated, but she was right and let out another loud sneeze which actually woke Siri up who was sleeping on the arm rest next to Grand. She nearly jumped to the roof before realizing it was Zeta, and started panting.

 

"Oh, um.. *sniff* Did I scare you Siri..? I didn't mean to, i'm sorry."

"Naw naw." She gave a funny wave with her hoof. "It's alright uncle Zeta. You are sick anyways~"

"Alright Zeta, that's it. You need prescribed medicine. We are going to the hospital" she said sternly before grabbing her coat and scarf. "You're welcome to come along if you would like Moon, in fact some company might be nice" she said, shuddering at the thought if going back into the hospital

Zeta whined and stomped a few hooves like a child. "But I don't wanna go baack! We have to walk all the way there through the cold snow, and I have no coat, and.." Then he sniffed in and sneezed, groaning a little.

"Oh, you don't even know Grand. Zeta NEEDS at least a few people by him in the hospital." Moon replied, putting on her daughter's coat before putting on hers. She decided to give the scarf over to him, and wrapped it around nicely. "There! I don't know if I put it on right or not, but it should keep you semi warm. Now stop being a turd and lets go."

Siri giggled and bounced around some more. "Turd, teehe~"
