"Are there any ponies in your family that are normal? I mean.... Yeah, I guess you see what I mean when I say I don't have Grabds talent for comforting ponies" she said, not really sure why moon hasn't been offended by this point

"That depends on if you get trapped in there or not silly~" He said in a playful manner and nuzzled Grand. "But no worries about that, yes none of us are going to die and that's final!"

 

Moon shook her head. "No pony in my family is normal. I have a mental defect in my brain, Sunny is a weird alicorn who fell once and was restored by me convincing, Sirius technically has two horns, my younger daughter was a sea pony, my ex-husband was a royal guard who was pretty bad at sex, and my two parents too. I was adopted by two ponies, Storm Runner and Athena. Storm or my dad was a professional athlete in running, and my mom Athena was a super high class fashion model."

She started giggling shortly after that and played with Glint some more. "Not even my friends are normal, like Zeta for example. But I could go on and on on that list, teehe <3"

 

(( I'll reply tomorrow, hopefully as soon as I can which is like 3 in the afternoon for me. It's 2 am here now so that's in 13 hours. ))

"Yeah, I guess it's a problem you're gonna have to sort out between you two. Though it may be a sensitive subject so don't ask him right off the bat." Fire said.

 

Starburst got back to Ponyville, he wanted to forget about everything and enjoy the rest of his birthday, so he went back to the house.

"Hey girls, what have you been up to?" Starburst asked.

"Mama?" Glint asked.

"No, sorry. she's not here, but don't worry, she'll be back soon and she is going to love you to bits." Starburst replied, tickling Glint's belly with his hoof.

 

Missy was sitting away from Zeta and Grand, listening to their conversation.

"Is that why she felt so jealous of me when I had Glint, because I had two and she can't have any." Missy thought.

"I just want him to know that it's water under the bridge." Stephan said with a grin. "He's my nephew, and I can't really stay angry at him. All he was trying to do was protect Caramel." Normally, Stephan would hold a little bit more of a personal grudge against somepony if they killed him. But, Starburst was young. He didn't deserve to be shunned.

Once the two reached the others, Fire was confused.

"Where's Starburst? Did he go back to Ponyville already?" Fire asked.

"He did, he didn't say why, though. He looked to be ina bit of a hurry. Why? Do you know something I don't?" Missy responded.

"It's something between him and Stephan." Fire said.

Stephan sighed and put his hoof over his head in pain.

"Well then, let's start heading back to Ponyville so everypony knows we're okay." Stephan began walking out of Appleoosa, but before doing that, he put the decaying corpse of Zycrin back in his coffin and buried him back.

"Ugh. First thing I'm doing when I get back is washing my hooves..." He muttered.

"Agrred. Anyway, with Starburst gone and Missy too tired to do any more magic, we can't teleport back to Ponyville. So I hope you don't mind hoofing it back there." Fire said to Stephan.
"Grand, I'm sorry for back there, I just, thought I was going to die, and... I panicked." Missy said apologetically.

Grand turned to Missy, a little worried as to what she overheard. "Oh, nonsense. Its what any mother would do. Well, its no matter now, youre perfectly healthy. I do wish we didnt have to go through Tartarus though, I thought ive had enough of long and taxing endeavors in this lifetime"

 

Caramel smiled at Starburst. "We were just talking about how odd it is that both you and Glint ended up being alicorns is all. Is everyone okay? I mean... I guess I should ask what happened in the first place"

"That demon guy, he posessed Zycrin's dead body and attacked everypony, we were all drawn together by the elements of harmony which we used to defeat Dread and send him to Tartarus." Starburst said. "Sorry for leaving so suddenly, there just wasn't time to explain, and you were asleep."

 

Missy looked at Grand suspiciously, she knew that look, there was something that Grand wasn't telling her.

But she wasn't going to bring it up.

"Oh, wow thats pretty dangerous. Maybe I shouldve worried more. Well, I'm glad your back safe then" She said, going over to him and kissing him on the cheek

 

Grand smiled. "Well, I suppose we should get walking. Its quite a hike back to Ponyville from here" She said, looking the direction of Ponyville. "Just a hop skip and a jump for us though"

"In a few weeks, we should be able to go somewhere, we'll finally be able to have a party where I won't be held back by not being able to drink alcohol." Missy bumped Grand playfully. "What do you think?"

 

Starburst returned the kiss. "Well, what kind of fun have you been having with Caramel?" Starburst asked Glint, she started giggling, of course. Starburst laughed along with her. "Sounds like you two are getting along."

"S.....ss..brt..." Glint was making sounds with her mouth, trying to form words

Grand laughed lightly. "Wouldnt that be nice? I could use a drink after all of this is over" She said a little tiredly. "I just hope this is our last extensive, life threatening journey"

 

"Ooooooohhh!!! She's trying to say your name! Thats so adorable" Caramel cooed, smiling at Glint happily

 Stephan smirked at Fire.

"Heh. No problem, Fire. I pretty much hoof it everywhere, remember?" Stephan strapped his saddlebags back onto his back and looked towards Grand. "I doubt that, Grand. We're going to hell next." He said, shuddering a little bit at the thought.

"Yeah, we saved the world from trotters, and we just saved the world from a homicidal demon and now we're about to walk into hell itself I think the universe owes us at least a little break from all this." Missy said, also feeling rather tired.

"Is she? I can't tell." Starburst was excited by this. "Don't worry if you can't say it on your first time."
"St..ar...b....urst."Glint looked expectantly at Starburst.
"Good job, little sis!" Starburst said, extending his hoof a small bit. Glint looked at it with a quizzical expression.

Grand just sighed and continued walking. "Maybe one of these days we wont have ponies near death" She said, walking along the snow

 

Caramel squealed. "Ohhh, thats so cute! She sure is a smart little thing though, saying words and only a day old!" she said, playing with Glint

Stephan walked with Fire back to Ponyville. Memories of what happened before he died began coming back. He remembered distinctly pushing Sirius and Caramel to the ground, injuring Sirius in the process. Stephan looked towards Grand.

"Do you think that Caramel will even want to speak to me after what happened earlier?" Stephan asked.

"I can't say. It might take a bit of convincing, but as hot headed as she is, she isnt one to hold grudges" Grand said, realizing she hadnt grabbed any winter wear. "I wouldnt worry too much about it, She isnt quite used to all the things that seem to only happen to us:

"It's been a long day, but we've still got to celebrate what's left of Starburst's birthday." Missy said, walking over next to Fire and leaning on him.

"It most certainly has." Fire replied. "When you were using the elements to defeat him, I looked at you, and you....you looked, not just scared, but almost paralysed with fear."

"Yeah, I was afraid we would lose." Missy responded. "But we didn't, friendship is more powerful than hatred."

 

"I don't know why, I've never heard of a day old filly with abilities like that." Starburst said. "I have to leave soon anyway, we have to save Steel and Light. They were taken to Tartarus."

"What do you mean you? If youre going then I'm going too" She said firmly, "I can handle a couple of demons, can't be any worse than Grand during award season" She said with a smile. "When are we going? And what about Glint? who will stay back to take care of her?" Caramel asked, looking over to Glint

"I just want to insure to Starburst that it's all water under the bridge." Stephan said. "Caramel and I don't really seem to have a good relationship with one another, but I really do care for her. I still remember 8 years ago when it was one of my main goals to find her and secure her safety. I just wish that me and her were on better terms."

It was almost sundown when the group got back to Ponyville.

"We're finally home. I just want to lie down in bed and just fall asleep and never wake up again, I'm that tired." Missy said.

"We canr est today, but when the sun rises again, we have to leave for Tartarus." Fire replied.

 

"What? I can't allow you to come with us. It's far too dangerous and I'd rather keep you safe and out of harm's way if at all possible." Starburst said.

Grand smiled. "I'm sure itll get better, Caramel isnt one to dislike any ponies for anything. Now if you'll excuse me, I am quite tired" She said before making her way back to her house.

 

"I dont need your permission to go, I'm going and thats final. Sorry, but thats just the way things go" Caramel said, putting her nose up, but smiling as she did it.

"Good idea, we should probably check up on Glint, what a terrible mother I was, just leaving her like that." Missy said, feeling slightly ashamed. Fire and Missy walked back to the house with Grand.

"I guess you're stubborn like that." Starburst said, laughing slightly at Caramel's snooty appearance.

Grand opened the door to see everyone in the living room. Her eyes drifted to Glint but she didnt react in any way. "Well, its nice to see everyone again. You should all be heading to bed though, we have a long day tomorrow" She said, walking straight to her bedroom and closing the door.

 

Caramel didnt really pay any attention, but sighed. "Alright, lets get to bed then. Here's Glint, she sure is a smart one" She said, yawning

The first thing Stephan did upon returning was go to Fire and Missy's house. When he entered the house, he gave Glint a little pet on the head and a small peck on the cheek. He then turned to Starburst.

"Starburst, I need to talk to you for a moment, one-on-one." He said.
