Stephan sat at the edge of the building before speaking again.

"I think I'll manage alri- wait, Steven?" He asked, a little concerned. "Didn't we put that guy away just this morning? He broke into our apartment complex and tried to harm our families, and now you're providing him a place to stay?"

"Okay...look. Not that I trust him or anything, I don't. But....." Stewart took in a deep breath. "I'll keep an eye on him, okay? Watcher out." Stewart hung up. "Alright, Archer, what've you got?"

"Well, there's been chatter of a meeting in Central Park, I think we should go there, and interrupt this meeting." Archer said.

"Good idea." Stewart said, keep an eye out, just in case it's a trap, Stewart texted Ghost. "Big thing going down in Central Park, down at the lake."

 

Missy took a sip of hers. "Hmm, it's interesting."

Stephan heard his text message tone go off and opened his phone. Upon reading the text, he smirked under the mask.

"Never a dull night in New York City, I guess." Stephan jumped down from the building and began running to the lake at Central Park, hoping to see some action.

Stewart thought over his plan as he got his way to Central Park, it seemed like the best course of action. He knew what would unfold once they got there. It would just have to be enough.

"Don't worry, Stephan, you'll have your Christmas with your family." Stewart said to himself.

Archer had come with them for once, the two hid in a bush and watched the lake.

Steel walked to the hospital as he walked he pulled out an old scroll "and looked it over I have everything but the blood, why is alicorn blood harder to get then one of the devils scales " steel said

As Stephan ran to the lake, questions ran through his mind like ants running through his head. Ever since he got here, he's been taking under a persona he told himself he'd let go of. What does that make Dash think of him? Would she even want to be with him after this is all done? Regardless, after a few more moments, he arrived.

Stewart sent a message to Stephan.

"Police. Call them, trust me." Stewart sent it and put away his phone.

 

"Alright, I don't think Stephan's here, and we need to wait for the meeting to arrive.

"It was due 4 minutes ago, these guys are never late." Archer said. "They're really accurate."

Stephan shrugged and dialed 911. The instant message asked which service he wanted

"Yes, police services, please." The call immediately went to the NYPD. "Yes, NYPD, I think we have a small situation over at the lake at Central Park. I think you should probably have a look at it." He said.

Stewart walked out towards the lake and stopped at the edge. He signalled for Archer to follow, thought he didn't really need to.

"Archer, I have a question for you." Stewart said, Archer slowly approached Stewart.

"What question?" Archer asked, quizzically.

"If you planned this, then why did you recruit me?" Stewart asked, he looked straight at Stephan, he stared right at him and closed his eyes, Archer quickly took out his sword and thrust it through Stewart's chest, he quickly removed it, Stewart fell to his knees and to the ground.

Cara was growing impatient as she waited in the safe house and began to worry. She looked over to see a handgun on the table. Hesitantly she picked it up and left the safe house, flipping up her hood before she left. She remembered Stewart saying something about Central Park, so she headed on her way

 

Greta smiled and took. Few more sips, laughing at the drunk karaoke singers

(Mind if we pause for an hour or so? I'm going on a plane and I don't want to miss it XD)

Stephan saw this and pinned Archer to the ground. The police arrived soon after this in a small squad. They then surrounded the two.

"Time for me to use what I learned from the drama club in high school." He thought to himself. "Officers, this cruel man murdered this teenage boy with the weapon on the ground. I kept him suspended to the ground until you arrived. Thank you for coming so quickly." The police picked Archer up off the ground and put him in cuffs. They shoved him into the back of one of their squad cars and took off to the station.

Stewart played dead until most of the police had taken Archer away, he pushed himself up off the ground, holding his chest.

"Ghost." Stewart muttered and then stumbled into him as he tried to move. "This'll work. Your.....family will be safe. It had to happen this way. When I'm dead, you can testify against Archer, put him away for a good 30 or 40 years, for murder."

At first, Stephan thought this was all just an act, but then he realized that he was legitimately passing away. He took off his mask and knelt to him.

"Watcher... I-I'm sorry I let this happen. I barely knew you." He then pulled him in for a gentle hug. "If you have to die now... I will. I'll make sure Watcher is put away forever. He murdered a teenage boy. That can't go without severe punishment."

"And I have no doubt that he will, the name's Stewart, by the way." Stewart said. "Just answer this one question, just one, and don't lie to me this time." Stewart looked deep into Stephan'e eyes. "Why do you seem to know me so well? The way you speak to me. Almost as if you care for me, deeply, but I don't know you."

Stephan sighed and took out the element of loyalty.

"I may be human, but years ago, I resided in a land known as Equestria. After thirteen years, I was given the element of loyalty, one of the six Elements of Harmony." He explained. "In that world, there's an alternate version of everyone on Earth. You wield one of the elements, too. Not only that, but you're... my nephew..."

Cara ran as fast as she could to the park, having a terrible feeling in her gut. She arrived at the park and looked around, panicked, until she saw One of the men with Stewart before. She ran over to him, and was about to speak when she looked down and saw Stewart at deaths door. She dropped the gun in the snow, horrified. "No, no, no, Stewart! No, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault, I shouldn't have gotten in your way, I..." She said, tears running down her face. She knelt down next to him. "I'm so sorry" she said quietly, through tears

"Listen to me, no matter what either of you may think, I did this, I made my choice." Stewart started coughing blood, he took off his gloves and reached out a hand to Cara's face and stroked it. "If this other me, is anything like me, and I'm going to assume there's an alternate Cara too. Promise me, that you won't let her go through this, because if he's anything like me, then he's deeply in love with her, and he'd do anything to guarantee her safety." Stewart reached up and kissed Cara again, then he put his mask back on, and like that, he was gone.

Cara looked down at him. "Stewart? No, come on Stewart, you can make it, don't do this, please!" She said , holding his head and shaking his arm. "No, he can't be dead, he just can't! It's not fair, if I didn't get in the way all the time he'd still be here" she said, crying over him. "It's not fair, it's not" she said quietly, not bothering to wipe away her tears

Stephan hugged the corpse of Stewart.

"I'm so sorry... Starburst..." Stephan held out his element of loyalty and strapped it around his wrist. Since it was meant to be worn as a brace of a sort, his wrist was big enough to strap it around him. "Heroes make sacrifices for the greater good... and Stewart probably did just that..."

Missy took another drink.

"You know, I have a good feeling about tonight." Missy said.

 

An officer showed up.

"I'm sorry, but we have to move the body, just tell me when you've finished saying your goodbyes, okay?" He said, walking back from the scene.

 

Frank couldn't sleep that night. He kept thinking about Cara.

Cara shook her head. "No, I can't leave him, please don't make me! He can't be dead, he just can't" she sobbed, kneeling next to him. "What about his parents, they need him. I need him" she said, wiping her wet cheeks

 

Greta smiled. "We should certainly do this more often, it's so nice to get out every once in a while"

Stephan's eyes watered up and he took off the Element of Loyalty. The then took off Stewart's mask and put the element around his neck. 

"May God welcome you into Heaven, my nephew." Stephan said, shutting his eyelids. He then began leaving the body with the element still around Stewart's neck.

The ambulance arrived that then put him into a body bag. Then they left, leaving the two distraught and unsure,

"If you would like, we can take you to the hospital." The officer said to Cara.

 

"We should do this more often." Missy said, about to raise her glass but her phone rang. She answered it, her expression changed, she dropped her phone and ran out of the bar.

 

Frank was about to go to sleep but his phone rang..

"Hello?" He said answering it, he immediately got up out of his bed and ran out into the cold night.

 

(They're going to a hospital.)

Stephan watched from the nearest building as the ambulance went to the hospital. He felt too guilty to come to the hospital. He held himself responsible for not knowing any better. Though, he remembered that he left the element of loyalty with Stewart's corpse. He hoped that it might do some good. Since him and Stewart were, in a way, connected to one another, maybe the element would do something. He jumped off of the building, making his way to the hospital.
