Celestia nodded to Stephan. "I am so very grateful that you two saved me." She said to Grand and Missy. "But now we have to recover from this. I think I know exactly how." Celestia smiled but looked around frantically. "Where is my sister, does anypony know?" She looked over to her royal armor on the floor. "She hates having this lying around." Celestia levitated it up into a neat stack.

Zeta was following Luna around as she flew through the sky. "Luna! Lunaa!! Slow down, I wan't to talk to you! Why are all the changelings running anyways..? Meh.. Anyways, did you recover your memory or something?"

 

Meanwhile, Moon just smiled as she laid on the ground. "My fever is going down now.. Thank Celestia and Luna..~"

"Yes, I did recover my memory, not sure how though." Luna landed next to him. "And that response. I can't be with you, it doesn't matter how much I want to, I just can't. Because I've lived for a thousand years, and I'll live a thousand more, it's my curse." Luna looked down at the floor.

 

"The elements of harmony are a great magic, I hope you all know that with this great power, there also comes responsibility." Celestia said. Missy ran over to Celestia and leaned her head against her.

"It's been so long Princess, we really need to catch up more. Even if I was never your student, I still respected you as a teacher." Missy said.

"This reminds me of when I used to do this with Twilight." Celestia laughed a little.

"Huh..? What do you mean Luna?" Zeta just said confused as the two walked to the castle together. The entrance was still a little ways away which gave them some time to talk. "So you're saying I can't be your personal guard anymore, or.. Wait, if it's about love then I understand. I only liked you a little bit Luna, but not enough to stand by your side and kiss you. Just know that, alright? But we're still best of friends."

"You're still my guard, Zeta, that's not going to change, and I'm glad you're here anyway, in a few hours, it'll be time for me to lower the moon so my sister can raise the sun. It's how life has worked for the past 20 years, and it's how it'll remain until we get bored." Luna chuckled. "Tell me, Zeta, how does it feel to be mortal? Does it feel tight, like you're trapped?"

Stephan nodded to Celestia.

"We will, Luna. I can promise you just that." Stephan then turned to the others. "Because we aren't just friends. We're a team. We've come so far together and we've all been through almost all of the same situations. That's what makes us a unit. We're inseparable."

Missy walked over to Stephan.

"You're such a big softy Stephan." Missy gave him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. "We're all friends, and for what it's worth, I'm glad I came with you guys to Bruchellia."

"Still, if I hadn't gone, we wouldn't be friends." Missy gave him another big hug but stayed there because she was feeling kinda cold.

Zeta thought about that for a moment, but then shook his head. "It goes either way Luna. Being mortal allows us to experience many, many things that are just so much different compared to ponies who are immortal. It's always said, ponies who gain immortality always lose many things in life, and sometimes can leave them depressed." He took some more time to think a bit more about everything. "I've read about Snowdrop, how she lived to be happy even being blind. But what nopony says is that she was one of your best friends. I would see how it could of felt watching her, a mortal, die just like that from an accident. You'll never really be able to see her again, not until the end of time..

 

Well, maybe. I'm sure you're in contact with her since she's up in the heavens~"

"I remember that little filly, she showed me what a wonderful thing that the darkness can be. The darkness was her life, so she understood me better than anypony else, even my sister." Luna was starting to feel teary-eyed. "She didn't judge me, she was just kind."

"You can relate that to a friend of yours and mine, you know?" He replied, giving a smile and a hug. "I'm actually thinking if our friend has a part of Snowdrop in her, maybe she does, maybe she doesn't.."

 

And the girl he was talking about was of course, Moon Wave, who was still lying on the floor panting from how weak she was. "Um.. Can, someone get me back to a bed, please..?"

Stephan laughed a little bit and blushed a faint red.

"Yeah, I guess I may look like somepony who's all rough and tough, but deep down, I'm such a big softy that wouldn't hurt a fly." Stephan said, hugging the alicorn back. "I'm just glad I have you guys here to be a family away from my actual family."

"I don't follow, Zeta." Luna said, slightly confused. "I don't think I know anypony that's like her."

 

"Yeah, we've all been through so much, mountains, volcanoes, treacherous snowy temperatures." Missy said, snuggling into his warm fur. "We're all a big family. We're all connected by something much bigger than the elements."

Zeta just smiled. "There is a pony, who I know has kissed you countless of times and has slept with you too.. If you can't remember Moon Wave, then i'm sure you never regained all of your memory back yet." He then laughed a bit as he opened up the doors to the castle. There laid Moon on the ground, smiling while sort of being content there.

 

"Buu..? Oh, is that, who is that..?"

Grand smiled at everyone feeling so happy, but she was beginning to feel woozy again after the adrenaline died down.

 

Caramel smiled and helped Starburst up. "I'm glad your okay. Here, you need some rest" she said, helping him up and leading him back into the house. She looked up at the giant hole in their roof and sighed. "Well isn't that just great"

"Hey, well at least we're still alive. I need you alive for our wedding day, it's no fun otherwise." Starburst joked.

 

"Ah yes, Moon Wave, I have grown out of that kind of sexual activity, and I now focus more towards, you know, stallions and stuff like that." Luna whispered so Celestia didn't hear her. "Ah, sister, you have my royal armor. Thank you for holding onto it for me." She said, levitating them over and putting it on, crown crest and horseshoes. "That looks much better and it feels normal."

Once everything had calmed back down, the first thing Zeta did was get some guards to help Moon over to the medical wing while he went to Grand, stabilizing her by using himself as a wall. "Are you alright there Grand..? You still seem pretty unstable after drinking a lot that time."

Caramel smiled. "Yeah, it would be pretty hard to have a wedding with only one participant" She said, helping him onto the couch. "Is your magic depleted? Do we need that potion again?"

 

Grand sighed, embarassed. "Yes it seems so, but its no matter. I feel fine" She said, trying to maintain her dignity

"No, my magic is fine." Starburst levitated a cup. "See. I'm just tired, force-field magic can leave you feeling very tired and most of the time with a very bad headache. Anyway, we should just spend the rest of Hearth's Warming relaxing under a blanket or something.

Stephan smiled and pulled away from Missy. He then looked at the ruined Canterlot before him. Buildings were in shambles and the castle was even worse. Though, despite all of the damage, he simply smiled next to Missy.

"Well, looks like we've got a lot of cleaning up to do..." Stephan said. "Where do we start?"

Zeta just smiled and helped Grand around a bit, getting her stable by having an arm around him. "I think you'll do well like this, don't worry. If anypony says you're handicapped, then i'll pin them down and let you slap them across the face a few times. Anyways, are you hurt?"

"Well, to begin with, all the unicorns can help fix the structural damage, put the rubble back into the walls." Celestia said. "Then those with wings can put all the decorations back where they were on the walls. And the earth ponies can do the heavy-lifting."

 

Missy nodded and turned to Fire, who smiled back.

"You can count on us, Princess." Missy said.

Stephan gave a small sigh.

"This isn't gonna be good on my back..." He muttered. He began walking out into the city of Canterlot. Some buildings were still in tact, but a good chunk of them were nearly in shambles. "Well, this shouldn't take too long with all of us. I say we start on the houses or living compartments first."

"Luckily they mostly attacked the palace, and everywhere was evacuated before the attack began." Missy said, then turning to see Fire who was limping a bit. "Oh, that looks pretty bad. Are you feeling alright?" Missy asked, referring to his burnt flank.

 

"Yeah, how appropriate huh. A fire cutie mark gets burned." Fire joked. Missy smiled and gave him a small kiss on the lips.

"You'll be fine. you'll live." Missy said, looking over into the distance. "It looks like Ponyville has been attacked, Stephan, you have to go and make sure everypony is alright."

Stephan nodded and began running off in a red streak towards Ponyville at a high speed. After running through the Everfree Forest for a bit, Stephan returned back to Ponyville. The town was cleared up, but it definitely looked worse than Canterlot. He immediately dashed towards Grand's house to check on the others. Afterwards, he'd check on Rainbow Dash and the other five. Once he got to Grand's he busted down the door to the basement.

"Is everypony okay??" He called out to them.

Glint saw Stephan and ran over to him, hugging his leg.
Starburst was surprised by the red blur going past him, so he checked down in the basement.

"Stephan!" Starburst said. "Man is it good to see you. How is everypony? Did you save Luna? Is Celestia okay?" Starburst asked worriedly.
