((I got one riddle))

 

Ink's memory was rather floozy after years after years of not coming here and purposely trying to forget about the place, "Symbols, and letters engraved on the stone walls... Uh! I remember this one..."

He turned towards Missy, "Okay... you need to say it as for I can't be the one that says it."

 

Ink repeated the sentences formed out of the letters engraved on the stone wall;

 

"Those who wish to be the highest amongst all, will be the servant of many, and those who wish to be seen, shall serve. And those who serve as a servant must be..."

 

Ink nodded, cuing Missy, and he hoped that Missy knew the answer to it since he had forgotten.

Stephan walked up to the shrine wall. He was expecting to see the mech by now. He had the device ready and everything. All he could see was a bunch of hieroglyphics of some sort. And it seems that Missy was the only one to solve them. Still, he pondered at what the meaning could possibly be.

"The device that Diane gave you only works on the inner sanctum, all of the three layers of wall are enchanted by riddles and only Missy - a descendant of Star Swirl could answer it." Ink explain to Stephan, putting his hoof on top of Stephan's hoof which was holding the device, telling him to lower it down.

"It's a good thing, you've got a linguist on dead languages." Ink said turning to the direction of the gate, hoping that it could actually be opened by Missy.

 

((Prepare for a trip through the maze -- a mental maze to be exact.))

Missy became seemingly mesmerised with the writing on the wall. It was all that ran through her mind, it became her mind, the riddle was communicating with her in a way she had never known before. After a short amount of time, Missy spoke.

"Humble. Must be.....humble." Missy said, the doors to the shrine opened up slowly.

Grand looked at Missy. "How in equestria did you know that?" she asked, looking at the second wall. It seemed different from the previous one, though still filled with strange symbols. "You said there are three walls, then we are in? That seems too easy, what else is in there inkdrop?"

Stephan shrugged. "Well, when you're half human and half pony, you get the best of both worlds, I guess." He said. "I guess we'll need to solve all three of these in order to reach the inner sanctum."

 Stephan gave a thumbs up to Missy. "Nice work, Missy! That's one door down, two to go."

As the sound of an ancient mechanism mobilizing beneath their hooves, the door was opening. "Yes! Oh... how could I forget! Humble, that is it, you miss... is the greatest thing" Ink said in excitement as a wide grin appeared across his face, "alright... Fire Horn make the move order."

"I don't know how i knew that. How did i know that?" Missy said after snapping back to reality.

"What do you mean? You opened it." Fire Horn said. "Come on....let's....." Fire Horn stopped, knowing what he knew, he couldn't continue without telling everypony about the risk that they were taking.

"We can't go in there, not until i tell you about something..." Fire Horn said.

"Uh... three walls, three layers..." Ink's mind started to go in to another memory lapse, since he had chosen to forget, "I don't know, I forgot, it's been a while since I've been here."

"All I know is that three layers of walls, three areas will test us mentally, we need a a clear head." He explained as well as trying to remember further on, yet unfortunately, he had forgotten completely.

Zeta felt the door open, walking happily in with the rest of the group to look at the other door that was in front of them again. It was much different from the first one, but he heard Fire speak of something and focused his attention to that.

"Do you two need to be in privacy or something? I can gladly leave you two alone to talk about whatever."

Stephan walked up to Fire. "If it's about any dangers that may lie ahead, it should come as no surprise at this point." Stephan told him. "We've been through hell, and we walked through it with our lives. Whatever waits for us behind those doors, we'll take it on. And if we die, at least we die together..."

"Mentally? will each of us go through our own mental challenge, I suppose would be the best way to describe it, or will we all be going through the same thing?" she said, worried about what she might encounter once they enter the shrine. She didnt feel like going through her own personal hell, especially alone

"We may have to go through our own different mental challenge, despite being in the same room." Zeta had replied back to Grand. He wasn't really eager for his brain to be tested, since he really doesn't have much mental capability. Maybe he could have her help out with his problem, since he did want them to work together.

"I'm sorry, Grand... I can't remember." Ink replied softly, "but we need to be prepared for both."

Ink increased his volume so everypony could hear him, he explained what might possibly happen when they all underwent the mental challenge, "Everypony just remember that it is not real, a mental challenge tend to trick us to believing what we see is real. It plays with our minds, just don't give in. I have one trick; try to find a flaw in the augmented reality that is projected by the challenge, find anything that you see is wrong, either it is the environment or the people - mind every detail!"

"No, it's not just danger, there's an almost 100% chance that we'll all die saving Equestria. Doesn't that scare any of you?"

 

The first room of the shrine was a rather large room. Larger than the whole size of the outside of the shrine. Strange.

"OK, this is very weird." Missy said, suddenly, the whole room was plunged into darkness as the door behind the group closed.

Grand shrieked as she reached for another pony, but she couldnt find anyone. She flung her hooves out trying to feel another pony but she felt like she was walking through nothingness. "Missy? Stephan, Zeta? Fire! Where are you!" she called out, unable to see anything

"Mentally? That could be a little tough..." Stephan was always used to tackling his problems head-on. He never really thought about anything before doing it. Now that this has been springed onto him out of nowhere, his confidence lowered. What could be in store for him.

"Come on guys, I think I know where to go." Missy yelled, but then noticed there was no talking anymore, just silence. "Hello, guys, are you there? I'm so alone, so..." Missy sniffed and started tearing up. "....so alone." She curled up in a ball and sobbed quietly.

"Grand, Grand! I'm right here, don't worry!!"

He reached out to her voice, grabbing what felt like her body and (maybe squeezed it a little) walked toward her, feeling for Grand's hoof and touched it. "It's alright, we're all still here. Nothing bad is going to happen now, and it wont.."

 

But slowly, what he felt had faded away, like nothing was there. He began to feel around for any more signs, but he couldn't hear anything anymore.

"Grand? Guys!?! Where are you all?!!"

Ink Drop being trapped in darkness, only the sound of his lungs inhaling and exhaling oxygen, he yelled out; warning the others, "Everypony calm down, don't stray away... find the pony that is the closest to you..." Ink tried to reach out but it seemed no pony was there, he was lost in the dark nothingness. 

But then, one spark of light shone upon his face and a voice called his name, "Inky..." it echoed around him, he knew that voice, and all he could return as a response was, "Mom?"

Stephan woke up in pitch blackness. All he could see was an endless void of blackness. "Ugh... where am I?" He rubbed his head and felt something hard. He then looked at where his hand was suppost to be and saw a hoof in his place. "I... I'm a pony again? Guys?? Where did you all go?!" Stephan shouted. There was no answer. "Well, looks like I'm on my own. I better get out of here and find the others, and fast!" Stephan then saw a faint light in the distance. A small, ruined town to be exact. "Ponyville...?" Stephan dashed towards the light, determined to find out what's happening.

Grand opened her eyes to a familiar view. Zecoras basement. "oh... no" SHe whispered looking around her.She was alone, except for one little filly.

"Hey Grandy! I havent seen ya in forever!' Caramel beamed, trotting happily to her sister. Grand was bewildered.

"C-caramel? Is that you?" she said, feeling her sisters fuzzy mane,

"Of course, who else would it be Grandy?" 

Grand finale remembered what Inkdrop had said, knowing that this wouldnt last, but she was so overjoyed she simply picked her sister up and hugged her tightly. "I missed you so much" SHe whispered, hugging her sister

((no worries, the happiness wont last))

Fire was in a hospital, there was crying coming from all directions, no matter which way he ran, he didn't get anywhere. He sat down and tried to block out the noise with his hooves.

 

Missy felt helpless, helpless to the power of the shrine. Then, unexpectedly, a voice came:

"Hello again, mum."

Stephan ran up to the ruined town. It was in fact Ponyville. In fact, it was Ponyville just minutes after the outbreak had begun. All of a sudden dead ponies began to appear. Stephan didn't know any of them, but he was still in shock, getting the feeling he felt the first time he saw it; guilt. He sure knew the last one to appear, though. His best friend, Light Streak. He walked over to his best friend and knelt down to him. He began to sob over his dead body, but it didn't last for long. The dead body of Light came back to life and pinned him against the wall. He looked hungry for pony flesh.

He has but forgotten what he just said about facing the mental challenge, he basked into the realness of the challenge. He neared the light then suddenly, Ink found himself at The Canterlot Park. He saw two mares from afar and two dragons whom both of them were holding hands. Ink went closer to investigate and he realized it after he just only saw the first mare on the left who had a broke-white coat and a cerulean mane styled in buns, the other one was a lavender alicorn, and the two dragons; one boy and one girl, the boy was purple and had green spikes and spines while the girl was a vermilion dragon. 

"Mom? Twilight? Spike? Flarita?" Ink said, calling out each of their names. The tears of joy flowed down his cheeks.
