Ink regained his strength, he was amazed by the fact what Star Swirl wrote was true. All six individuals would represent the Elements and heal this land of it's corruption.

 

Grand looked around with a bewildered expression. "The elements of... Harmony? How in equestria could we possess them when the original wielders are still alive?" She asked curiously, though she decided to put it out if her mind. " does this mean.... We have found the cure?"

 

"Yes... uh" Ink got up, "Anypony could represent the Elements, as long as their hearts is pure and..." he looked around at the group once again, "a bond... a strong bond; a family."

Zeta looked to Ink, wondering about how he was now. "Wait, I don't get it.. Does that mean, my heart is pure and.. But it cant be, since the things I've been through in the past..."

Ink was still a little woozy after being siphoned, "I'm good, I'm okay." he walked up towards the group with a small smile on his face, his took a long deep breath before he spilled out a few words, "Guess, we have a happy ending then." Ink saw that Stephan was undergoing another transformation and Missy kissing Fire Horn but Zeta and Grand were still apart, "Well... What are you waiting for?" He said at Zeta, "Go get her..."

The golden sphere broke apart and caused huge winds to occur. Outside of the sphere was no longer a human, but a scarlet, emerald green eyed, blue maned earth pony. He looked at the group and smiled at all of them. Then he walked up to Grand. "Grand, I want to tell you something I've been wanting to tell you since the second we met."

Zeta listened well, toughening up his body and walked over to Grand. He stood in front of her, with a slight bit of red on his face but nonetheless he did what he could.

"Grand... I know we kissed earlier, but that was to cheer you up. Now things have changed, and everything is okay. Everypony is okay, the whole world is okay, and you're okay..."

He paused a bit, letting out a little smile.

 

"And I know you're okay, since you're sitting in front of me right now. For some reason, I like that. I like that you're sitting in front of me like this, because... Because, Grand..

I love you."

Grand had a wide smile on her face as the pony Stephan returned. "I'm so glad your back to normal again!" She said happily. "What was it you wanted to tell me?" She asked, clearly still quite clueless as to what was going on. She was just glad to have the old Stephan back. As zeta walked up to her and told how he felt, she suddenly realized what was going in and the smile fell off her face. "Oh, dear" she muttered quietly

"Oh, ohohoho!!!" Ink gasped in surprised, it seemed that he told the wrong pony to get the girl, "But you, well, did you... with Zeta and stuff, okay never mind, I'll just be over there." Ink went through the door and to the lever controls, he took out the ancient lever piece, but this time, instead of keeping it, he shattered it apart, "There, no humans nor ponies could get in here every again."

"Well, actually Grand... I feel the same way." He told her. "Ever since the outbreak began, I was lost. I lost everything to the outbreak... but then I met you and this group. You helped me realize who I really am again. You've learned to do so much over the course of this journey, and I swear, you're the nicest and most beautiful mare I've ever come across. I wanted to be with you once this is all over. Now that it is, I finally have the chance to tell you." He said, glad he finally told her. "I've always been busy with adventuring and protecting our home. I've never really even had a mare friend." He admitted. "And I want you to do me the honor of being my first..."

Fire and Missy turned to the others.

"I think we should all go home now, time to begin our journey back to Equestria." Fire Horn said. "Alright everypony, let's move out."

Missy and Fire Horn walked out of the shrine together and waited for the others.

"You know I do love you right?" Fire said.

"Of course I do, I never doubted it." Missy said, resting her head on Fire.

After his little speech, Stephan had come as well to talk. It was interesting to hear his words as well, but he realized..

Oh no..

No..

I, how could of I forgot...

 

He was sent into a slight panic mode, backing off from Grand and Stephan and started to shed some tears in his eyes. He had forgotten what he had told about to Stephan a while back, and now he's the one who betrayed him.

He betrayed his good friend..

And now, now what?

Zeta didn't feel like anything anymore, running away from everyone and hid behind a pile of dead bodies. He was starting to lose his mind right there, for forgetting.

"Celestia. Celestia.. Celestia, nnvnvnnn... I cant, cant take it anymore.. Why do I do this to my friends, why did I do this, to Stephan..?"

 

Afterward, you could hear the moaning voice of Zeta from behind the pile of bodies. He made it seem scary, but in all honesty he was saddened by what he did.

And to top it off, he had already told Grand his feelings..

Grand smiled nervously at the two colts. "Perhaps we can discuss this matter at a later time?" She said, trying to change the subject before she started to walk over to fire and missy, glad to finally be going home. She looked at the colts guiltily, unsure what to do in the situation, so she just continued walking, hoping she hasn't hurt their feelings

He felt like he didn't get a true answer from Grand, but he was at least glad to get it off of his chest. Stephan then walked to Zeta. "Don't worry, man. It's all good. Don't beat yourself up over it. Let's just go home. I'm sick of this island." Stephan got Zeta back up to his hooves and he smiled at him. The two stallions then made their way back to the boat.

"Nn, n-no.. Just leave me here Stephan. I did something that most likely made you mad, stealing Grand from you out of all. I'm sorry for what I did, but it's just not enough. I don't think, it's, nn..."

He fainted from all the tension that was going on around him, falling next to Stephan and started to drool on the floor. It's not every day you see a Stallion pass out, but when you do it's a sight to see :3

"I want to talk to Grand for a minute, there's no way we can teleport anywhere so we're gonna have to hoof it back to Equestria."

Missy said, walking over to Grand. "Well, we made it through this, we both lost many things, but I think we're going to be fine." Missy smiled.

Grand smiled, "I agree, it'll be wonderful to live my life without bring in constant fear of losing it" she said happily. " it's a shame so any ponies have been lost though, it's going to take a long time to rebuild equestria into what it once was" she thought, but smiled, happy to know they were finally going home

Stephan snickered and put Zeta on his back. He wasn't as heavy as he thought he'd be. He walked out of the shrine to see a clear, blue sky, with the sun  shining bright and bold. "Let's blow this pop stand, guys." Stephan said, smiling. "We've got to get back to Equestria to see how everything is going."

"Everything's back to normal, the dead, well... will still be dead, but the infected, I do not know what will become of them but..." Ink was searching for something inside the pile of Heter corpses, he pulled something out - a strange object; like a flute, a wooden flute, with only four holes. "This should get their attention." Ink raced back inside to the inner sanctum, and went to the front of the room revealing how he managed to enter the Core by only moving a block of brick, "One domino and the rest falls, " Ink exposed a flaw that he had left in the past, thinking that he might someday would be needing to go back to The Shrine. The flaw revealed a way out to a cliff formation, a natural platform behind the Shrine itself. Ink went to the edge and blew the whistle three times.

"Come on, you... Plainstrider Clan, you know that sound..." 

An army of zebra emerged on the cliff face, greeting Ink Drop as an old friend, "Hrmph... never thought that they still remember me." he muttered quietly, giving a wave back to the zebras. 

"Since we are on a mountain, all I could say is, ready for gliding?" Ink faced away as one zebra landed besides him on a primitive glide made out of sticks and leaves and tree barks, "They'll be escorting us to our yacht, and we'll be taking the fast route through the river, so we'll be rafting, too."

Stephan nods and smiles. "Sounds like a plan, Ink Drop." Stephan waved his hoof to the natives. "Greetings. I am Stephan, but I also go by Blasted Nova. The brute on my back is Zeta, and my friends behind me are Fire, Missy, and Grand." He said, holding out his hoof.

"yeah, they don't understand basic language..." Ink said with his teeth clenched together, "but I'll translate them for you." Ink gave a pat to Stephan's chest and faced the zebras, "Polli eurik Ka'a chatoor, che tey, Ba'laste Nove, Zeeta, Infurmes, Mizz'see, dor G'rand." 

Ink looked back to the others and explained a bit about their language, "Yeah... your names sound like that in Zercoik Tongue, they taught me."

Zeta awoke up slowly, taking a while to recover before realizing he was on the old Stephan's back. It shocked him to see him back in his pony form again, but he eventually resided and gave a sigh.

"Stephan.. Why wont you leave me alone? Even after I betrayed you, you're acting like it's nothing..."

Stephan looked at Zeta and just smiled. "What is there to be mad about at this point?" He asked. "You're my buddy, man. A mare isn't going to get in the way of that. If it did, that's be just strait up silly." He said in assurance. "Besides, I'm not leaving an innocent pony on this island just because of a little mishap. That's not me."

"Well.. Uh.." Zeta couldn't exactly come back with a reply for that, seeing as it was true and couldn't be argued without going to be super specific. "Thanks for saying that Stephan, you've made me feel a little better.. But what about Grand? I don't really feel like i'm really like the best choice for her now, being forgetful and all. Plus you know, i'm 40.. How old are you?"

"Well, I'm about Grand's age. I'm just a year older than her." Stephan said. "But I'm just glad I got my true feelings for her off of my chest. Though, I don't think she'd want a cross-species like me. I have half pony, half human DNA now. I'm like some sort of science experiment gone wrong..."

He let out another sigh, getting off of Stephan and did his best to smile. "Anyway, thanks for still being my friend after all this. If you are the one, then i'm sorry for taking the first kiss."

"Look, Zeta, it's all in the past. I always say that if you keep looking behind you, you'll never be able to fully take in what's ahead when it comes." Stephan said. "Besides, I gave her a small little kiss on the cheek when I reunited with her in Canterlot." He admitted, blushing a little.
