Grand stood happily at the window, watching the countryside roll by. The thought of seeing her sister again made her jittery with excitement. She thought she was about to burst. "What if she doesn't recognize me? It's been nine years after all. Oh, she isn't a little filly anymore, that will take some getting used to"

"The economy of Equestria has really suffered, during the outbreak, bits weren't worth that much." Missy reminded Steel. "Anyway, we're here. Come on onto the train, it'll take about half an hour to get to Ponyville."

"I'd like nothing more than to see home again." Starburst said happily getting on the train with Fire.

Stephan walked up to Grand's seat and sat next to her. "Oh yeah, by the way, you're welcome for the new leg." He said with a snicker. "So, I bet you're excited to see Caramel all grown up and... well, not dead. I wonder if she's even still in that hospital in Ponyville." He thought out loud

"I should warn you, Grand, you really won't recognise her, she'll most likely be very thin due to mal-nutrition." Missy said. "She might even be handi-capped in some form, I don't want to make you miserable, but I just want to prepare you for what might have happened." Missy sat across from Grand.

Grand looked over to her. "I would rather have a disabled sister than no sister at all" She said with a smile."I wouldnt forget that frizzy orange hair in a million years" She said, looking into space. "Itll be strange to see her all grown up. its a shame I couldnt watch her grow into a mare"

Stephan smiled and got a out a small bag of trail mix and began to munch on it. "So, Grand, before the outbreak, you lived with your sister, right?" He asked. "You and her did have a mother and father, right? I mean, you and her must've been raised by somepony before you started looking after her yourself."

Grand thought for a moment. "Ive never told you about my parents? well, They raised me happily, and were planning on retiring as soon as I was settled. Then Caramel came along unexpectedly, and my parents didnt want to wait. As soon as I was old enough to take care of her, they moved her in with me and disapeared. While I was in Manehattan for an audition, she was staying at a friends house, as I was only to be gone for the weekend. that weekend turned into nine years"

Stephan's eyes widened. "Oh my gosh. She didn't even get to see you before all of this happened. That's so sad." Stephan said. "I at least hope she's gotten word that you're alive and we're on our way. She must be worried sick about her big sister." He said in a concerned tone.

"I would think she has, news has spread about the 'new bearers of the elements' faster than the virus did. I just hope she's healthy. Perhaps i'll do a bit of research into the virus. It seems quite complex, more than we originally thought." She said, thinking about it

Missy wanted to prepare herself for what they would see once they reached Ponyville, it would be but a husk of it's former self. Accomodation might be a problem though.
"Where are we all going to stay, my options are very limited." Missy said pointing to Fire and Starburst.

"I just hope we don't become, like, huge icons just because we wield the elements all of a sudden." He admitted. "What I would give to just sit under a tree in the sun or have a race and just live my normal life again." He said. "Though, we probably won't be living our lives again for a long while. Not until Ponyville is back up and going, at least." He let out a small yawn and reclined in the seat.

Stephan turned his head to Missy and her family. "Place to stay? We'll be lucky if we can find any building that ISN'T in complete shambles right now."

Grand smiled. "If my home is still standing, we can stay there! It's nothing fancy, but it should hold all of us" she said, ecstatic to go back home. "I think princess celestia ordered all residences of the element bearers to be rebuilt and cleaned. It would explain why Missy's house already had groceries"

"I doubt we're that important, besides, if there's nowhere to sleep, i'll sleep outside if I must, but once winter comes." Missy said, shivering at the thought. "It'll get cold, good thing I have a husband who knows his way around a fire. Anyway, the only real and very present danger will be supply for food, crops will just be starting to grow and it'll be winter sooner than I'd like."

"well we managed to survive in Bruchellia, we can do it here. I'll get my house cleaned up right away and we can stay there, Its right next to the theatre." She said, looking out the window. Ponyville was in sight, and her heartbeat began to speed up. "Oh, we are almost there!"

Stephan looked out the window and saw his home of Ponyville approaching on the horizon. Upon seeing it, a smile forced upon his face. However, as they got closer, he could see the town in shambles. The streets were crowded with ponies, though some of them were left without food or shelter, and most of the buildings were destroyed. The smile on Stephan's face slowly began to disappear and he let out a small sigh. "Looks like we have our work cut out for us..." He said.

" dont lose that smile just yet Stephan, A smile can go a long way here in Ponyville, especially in such drab times" She said as they slowly pulled into the station. It felt amazing to be in the town she grew up in, or at least what remained of it. "We shall get back to rebuilding as soon as possible"

Ponyville was ruined, houses had collapsed due to weather damage, along with the warring bandits shooting anythig that moved.
"Ponyville? My home...it's....ruined." Missy put her hoof on the glass. "We're going to make this better, Ponyville will be what it once was."

Stephan and Light stepped out of the train and looked at the ruined civilization before them. They both shared a sigh.

"How are we going to rebuild all of THIS??" Light asked.

"I don't know, but we will." Stephan said with confidence. "And we'll make it better than it was before, in fact."

Grand stepped out of the trian in a determined fashion. She wouldnt do anything until Ponyville was back to its former glory. But first things first, she needed to get to the hospital. She walked over to a young colt, building a house, "excuse me sir, could you show me the way to the hospital?"

"Sure thing miss, its in the old town hall until the hospital can be rebuilt"

"thank you sir" she nodded before heading to the townhall

Missy exited the train, to be greeted with ponies living in the streets because they no longer had a home to call their own. Fire and Starburst followed.
"I had always hoped Ponyville would be safe from destruction, obviously not." Missy said, feeling sadness. She decided to visit the library.

In an effort to forget his sadness, he went with Grand to see her sister. Light, on the other hand, went to see if their house was still up and going, though he doubted it was. Stephan and Grand proceeded north to the town hall. "The hospital needs to be put back together? Man, this town is really running on fumes." He said.

"All of Equestria is. Bu I have faith that it will be up and running in no time. With so many devoted ponies, it wont take any time at all" She said, looking at the ponies slowly repairing the buildings. "Maybe we should stop at my house before we go, see if its still standing. what do you think?" she asked Stephan
